The show starts off with a recap of last week’s action between Mustafa Ali and Nic Nemeth, with Josh Alexander looking on after Nemeth’s win. The recap also showcased the wedding between PCO and Steph De Lander, which was crashed by Matt Cardona.
After the recap, Steph De Lander invites us to her honeymoon.
Tom Hannifan officially welcomes us to the show as The System makes their way out to the ring. They are still decked out in their American flag attire. Alisha Edwards asks the crowd, “Do you want to know something?” She gets a resounding “no,” but she proceeds. She’s sick and tired of being asked how The System is feeling. She holds up her Knockouts Tag Team Title and reminds everyone that The System is powerful. Soon enough - everyone in The System will hold gold again.
Eddie Edwards says that losing the championships was nothing more than a fluke. He says that The System will do anything to get their titles back. Brian Myers says that nothing has changed. The System is still the greatest faction in wrestling. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional. JDC tells the crowd to shut up (they’ve been pretty hot during this segment) and hands the microphone to Moose. Moose says that Nic Nemeth might be the champion at the moment, but he’ll never be the face of the franchise. When the time is right, Moose will be taking back what is rightfully his. However, before he gets to Nic Nemeth, he must address Mike Santana. The crowd is hot for the mention of Mike Santana as Moose challenges him to a match next week.
In the back, Gia Miller is with Jonathan Gresham. He talks about being back after missing Slammiversary. He’s been gone for a while because he hasn’t been feeling well. He’s ready to go now, though. KUSHIDA enters the frame and Gresham offers a handshake. KUSHIDA almost shakes his hand, but decides not to and walks away.
There is a short teaser for Bound for Glory, which will take place on October 26, 2024.
The digital exclusive from earlier in the week with Mike Bailey and Santino Marella is shown. It explains the return of the Ultimate X Match at Emergence and the Qualifying Matches for it. Mike Bailey says that he’s a fighting champion and will be inserting himself into one of the Qualifying Matches. Santino agrees and hypes up the Ultimate X Match.
Ultimate X Qualifying Match: TNA X-Division Champion Mike Bailey vs. Jake Something vs. Trent Seven
If Mike Bailey loses this match, he will vacate the X-Division Championship and a new champion will be crowned at Emergence.
Mike Bailey and Trent Seven have a quick handshake. Jake Something gets a couple of his strikes ducked before Bailey and Seven work together a little bit to get Something out the ring. With Something out of the ring, Seven goes for a quick roll up on Bailey, which Bailey kicks out of. Seven and Bailey exchange strikes and Something drags Seven to the outside. Bailey hits a dive on both men.
Bailey and Something head back in the ring. Bailey gets Something back to the outside and goes for a diving hurricanrana. Something rolls through it and gets Bailey up. He hits Seven with Bailey and then disposes of Bailey on the outside. Something brings Seven back in the ring.
Something lays in some hard strikes on Seven. He goes for a powerbomb, but Seven blocks it. Seven gets Something up on his shoulders and Bailey comes off the top rope to knock Something off of Seven’s shoulders. Bailey hits a series of hard kicks and then a running shooting star press on Something.
Something exits the ring as Bailey and Seven square off. They exchange shots and Seven hits a DDT on Bailey. Something enters the ring and runs through both men. Something charges at Seven in the corner, but Seven gets the boot up. Bailey hits the Poisonrana on Something. He then goes up to Seven on the ropes, but Seven hits a scoop slam off of the ropes on Bailey. Something breaks up the cover.
Something grabs both men, but they fight him off. Something dumps Bailey down and Seven takes brief control on Something. Something gets it back, but Bailey grabs a choke on Something. With Bailey on his back, Something somehow manages to powerbomb Seven. He then hits a big slam on Seven. His pin is broken up by Bailey, who gets some hard shots in on Something as Seven rolls out of the ring. Bailey is able to hit the Ultima Weapon for the win!
Winner: Mike Bailey, who Qualifies for the Ultimate X Match at Emergence
Tom Hannifan throws to a match between Tasha Steelz and Gisele Shaw on Xplosion, which is followed by Steelz saying that she’s back on track. She’s headed back for the title. Anyone who gets in her way will be dropped by like Gisele Shaw was. Shaw shows up and takes exception to what Steelz is saying. They start to get into it, but Santino Marella shows up. He says that they’ll be facing off next week with extra referees so that there are no shenanigans.
The same Bound for Glory teaser from earlier in the show is shown again.
In the back, Alex Hammerstone approaches Santino Marella. He tells Santino that he has taken an interest in the X-Division. He finds the wrestling in the division cute with all the flips and acrobatics. He wants to be a part of it. Santino obliges and puts him in a Qualifying Match for the Ultimate X Match at Emergence. Eric Young shows up and tells Hammerstone that they have unfinished business.
KUSHIDA vs. Jonathan Gresham
They circle each other. Jonathan Gresham offers a handshake, but KUSHIDA waves it off. Gresham gets KUSHIDA into the ropes and breaks cleanly. KUSHIDA grabs a headlock and works it. Gresham reverses and doesn’t break as cleanly in the ropes this time - instead throwing KUSHIDA into the ropes. They do some catch wrestling and KUSHIDA grabs a headlock again.
KUSHIDA won’t let go of the headlock. Gresham almost gets out of it a couple of times, but is forced back into it. Gresham finally finds the remedy and starts to work the leg of KUSHIDA. He keeps him in a leg submission for a while until KUSHIDA finally makes it to the ropes. Gresham doesn’t let go of the hold right away, though.
Back on their feet, both men push and strike each other a few times before a big drop kick by Gresham. They then exchange some heavy chops, with one dropping KUSHIDA to his knees. Gresham goes for a suplex, but KUSHIDA blocks it. Gresham powers through it, though, and hits the suplex. He then goes back to working KUSHIDA’s leg with a single leg crab. KUSHIDA makes it to the ropes.
After some hold reversals, Gresham goes for the octopus stretch, but KUSHIDA strikes out of it and then takes the advantage. He gets in some strikes until Gresham ducks a crossbody. They reverse some positioning until KUSHIDA hits a Pele kick. KUSHIDA goes for the Hoverboard Lock, but Gresham fights it off.
KUSHIDA rolls through a crossbody and is able to get the Hoverboard Lock for the submission win!
Winner: KUSHIDA
The ABC are in the back. They are wondering who is next to step up for their titles. Mike Bailey interrupts. He thanks them for making him better. He wants to continue getting better, so he asks The ABC to enter the Qualifying Matches for the Ultimate X Match. They say that they’ll think about it. After Bailey leaves, Ace Austin says that the last time this happened, it caused some issues, but he thinks it might be a good idea now. Chris Bey agrees.
Steph De Lander is in the jacuzzi. She calls PCO and it goes to voicemail.
Open Challenge for the TNA Knockouts World Championship: Jordynne Grace vs. Rosemary
Rosemary answers the Open Challenge. She has a bag with her. She opens the bag and reveals her butcher’s knife.
After politely putting away the butcher’s knife, the match gets started. Jordynne Grace offers a handshake. Rosemary takes it, but uses it to grab the advantage. She strikes down Grace and then chokes her with her legs through the ropes. She then gets in some more strikes on Grace as Grace is hanging through the ropes.
She gets back in the ring and Grace is able to drive Rosemary into the corner. Rosemary pursues Grace from corner to corner, but Grace is able to slam Rosemary down. She slams her a second time and then hits a Vader Bomb.
Grace brings Rosemary back up and they counter body locks. Rosemary goes for a spear, but Grace rolls through. Rosemary hits her second try at the spear. Rosemary goes for As Above, So Below, but Grace gets out of it. Grace rolls through a Death Valley Driver and gets a two count.
Grace hits some clotheslines in the corner and then lifts Rosemary to the top turnbuckle. She goes for a superplex, but Rosemary blocks it. She tries to hit As Above, So Below from the top, but Grace reverses it into a superplex. They get up quickly and Rosemary is able to drive Grace into the mat.
With both women down, Ash by Elegance comes out with her Personal Concierge. The Personal Concierge hands Ash a Kendo Stick from under the ring and then distracts the referee. Ash hits both women with the Kendo Stick and then poses. The referee sees it and calls for the bell.
Winner: No Contest
Bound for Glory 2024 Announcement
Tom Hannifan introduces a video package for Bound for Glory 2024. On October 26th, Bound for Glory will be live in Detroit, Michigan at Wayne State University Fieldhouse!
Josh Alexander comes to the ring. He takes the microphone and the crowd gets on his case for selling out. “I sold out?” he asks. He said that just a few weeks ago, they were cheering for him. He asks if they want an explanation for his actions. The crowd chants, “You screwed Joe!”
Alexander says that he didn’t change. It’s the fans who changed. The letters “TNA” used to symbolize the best wrestlers in the world, but now the fans choose to cheer for people like Joe Hendry. He said his name…but Hendry didn't come out! “I guess he’s too busy now…” Alexander says. He says that Hendry can’t lace his boots. Alexander says that he earned the World Championship and was called the “Standard of TNA.” He’s the best professional wrestler today. He’s done it all and is truly the Standard of TNA. He’s focused on one thing - getting back the TNA World Championship. He talks about how Nic Nemeth claims he wants to be a fighting champion and the face of the company. Alexander says that TNA already has a face - it’s him. When they have their match, everyone will call Nemeth what they called him in WWE - a transitional champion.
Nic Nemeth comes out. He gets in the ring, grabs a microphone, approaches Josh Alexander and…lays him out! He picks the microphone back up and says that he is, indeed, a fighting champion. If Alexander wants his match, he’s got it next week!
In the back, Santino Marella makes the Nic Nemeth vs. Josh Alexander match for the TNA World Championship official for next week. Frankie Kazarian interrupts and says that he should be the Number One Contender. He tells Santino to do the right thing. Santino isn’t willing to help him out. Kazarian says that if Santino doesn’t, then he’ll have to take matters into his own hands.
Ultimate X Qualifying Match: Zachary Wentz vs. KC Navarro vs. NXT’s Dante Chen
A series of arm drags and pin attempts are hit by all three competitors to start off until Zachary Wentz is dispatched from the ring by KC Navarro. Navarro hits some strikes on Dante Chen and then a dive on Wentz.
Navarro jumps back into the ring and hits a spinning DDT on Chen and then a kick on Wentz on the outside. Chen is able to take the advantage on Navarro before getting thrown into the ropes where Wentz hits a strike on Chen and enters himself back into the matchup. Wentz comes back into the ring, but Chen is able to hit a series of running strikes on both men in the corners, followed by a backbreaker on Navarro.
Wentz breaks up the pin and he and Chen face off. Wentz goes to the corner and Navarro breaks up his plans. Chen comes over and grabs a hold of Navarro. Wentz hits a flying neckbreaker on Chen, which causes Chen to drive Navarro down. Wentz then takes control of both men and hits a series of acrobatic strikes, ending with the UFO Cutter on Navarro for the win!
Winner: Zachary Wentz, who Qualifies for the Ultimate X Match at Emergence
Steph De Lander is in the hotel room. She gets an alert on her phone and says, “He’s almost here.” There’s a knock at the door and it’s Matt Cardona. He’s upset and wants to know why Steph has been avoiding him. Steph De Lander tells him to leave. PCO is then shown being held down by two men at a different location. Matt Cardona approaches and says, “Don’t ever mess with my property! Remember who did this to you!” He then stomps on PCO.
Joe Hendry vs. NXT’s Wolfgang
Wolfgang is without Gallus. The crowd very much believes in Joe Hendry.
Joe Hendry enters the ring and grabs a microphone. He says that not long ago, both he and Wolfgang were in Scotland trying to make names for themselves. It also wasn’t long ago that he showed up to Wolfgang’s place of work and got the crowd to chant “We Believe!” He says that since the rest of Gallus isn’t here tonight, he just has one thing to say…which is boots to the midsection! Joe Hendry then stomps Wolfgang in the corner and clotheslines him over the ropes.
Wolfgang drags Hendry to the outside, but Hendry is able to drive Wolfgang’s head into the ring. Wolfgang hits some chops. Hendry returns with chops of his own. Wolfgang staggers away. Hendry follows and Wolfgang gets a shot in, but Hendry gets in a shot of his own. He throws Wolfgang into the ring. Wolfgang goes for an attack, but Hendry moves. Hendry tries to get in some shots by the ropes, but Wolfgang uses the ropes to drive down Hendry’s arm over the rope. With the advantage, Wolfgang grabs an arm and neck submission and holds it.
Hendry uses the crowd’s energy to get out of the hold and is able to hit a series of strikes to drive down Wolfgang. He charges at Wolfgang in the corner, but eats a boot. Wolfgang tries to hit a diving attack off the second rope, but Hendry moves out of the way.
Wolfgang is able to get the control, though, and throws Hendry out of the ring. He drives Hendry into the ring back first. He then hits a big slam on Hendry on the outside. Wolfgang gets back in the ring as the referee continues his count. The count gets to 9 and Hendry barely beats it. Once back in the ring, though, Wolfgang works over his back. He goes for a suplex, but Hendry is able to reverse it for a suplex of his own.
The crowd believes! Hendry punches and chops Wolfgang and hits some running strikes. He follows them with a big back body slam and a kip up. Hendry is favoring his back, but is using the crowd’s energy for help. He goes for the Standing Ovation, but Wolfgang blocks it.
Wolfgang hits a Vader Bomb for a two count. Wolfgang goes to the top for the Howling, but Hendry moves out of the way. Hendry gets up and hits the Standing Ovation for the win!
Winner: Joe Hendry
