WHY SOME FANS CAN’T FOLLOW GOOD STORYTELLING, THE GUY WHO SAID THAT BUSINESS PASSED JIM CORNETTE BY SHOULD HAVE NEVER MADE THE STATEMENT, TRIPLE HAD A PLAN AND MORE

I really enjoyed Blood & Guts as spectacle of plunder. That said, with all the abuse the competitors took in that match, shouldn’t it now take at least 2 or 3 finishers to beat each and every one of them moving forward? For example, Jack Perry should not lose the TNT Championship after one Darby Allen Coffin Drop, right?

Well, if you think that logic and realism should have a place in wrestling, yes.  If you just watch for the spectacle and constant action?  I guess not.  But I am not the one to ask since I don’t think like that group of fans.

On the socials, I have seen a lot of people, and some journalists, not understand why the bracelet that Drew McIntyre stole meant so much to CM Punk.  It was well explained in the story leading up to the match.  Why can’t people comprehend that?

I think there are a few reasons why.  I think in some cases, fans have watched horrible booking from Vince McMahon and Tony Khan for so long that they don’t pay attention to the stories that are now being told in WWE.  They are not following the stories that are being told.  In some cases it’s due to the lack of mental acumen to follow anything sophisticated.  In some cases it’s due to them liking all action, all the time.  In some cases it’s people who have no ability to care about someone else and they can’t understand why Punk would.  In some cases, like the supposed journalists, they have sold out to AEW so no matter what WWE does, they will find a way to criticize it.

Do you have any favourite wrestler?

No, I don't.  I have a lot of wrestlers that I love to watch.  I don’t play favorites.

When Jim Cornette talks about Modern Wrestling, whether it’s AEW or WWE, whatever he praises is also what gets the best reactions from the audience.  The inverse isn’t true, there stuff the audience likes that he won’t, but does this at least shoot holes in the Meltzer/Bucks spin that Jim Cornette is out of touch and the business has passed him by? And in an example of the worm turning, is WWE’s business under Triple H, (and AEW’s lack of business under Tony Khan) a sign that Meltzer and the Bucks have become the out of touch old men?  Has the business passed them by?

I always thought that they liked different things, which is the way it should be, and Dave Meltzer was a dope to ever start the line of BS that the business passed Cornette by.  When you make a statement like that, you had better be right or you will look like a schmuck.  At the end of the day, it comes down to the business numbers and clearly on that criteria if the business has truly passed anyone by, it’s Meltzer and The Bucks.  They are fans of a niche version of the business that does about a small fraction of the business that WWE does.  They should just be happy with what they are doing, not drawing attention to the fact that they are a distant number two in the American industry,  The irony is that the guy who claimed that the business has passed Cornette by has shown the world that it’s actually him that doesn’t get what the business is.

It's great to see Gunther become World Champion at SummerSlam but do you think WWE has done a disservice to him by not having people set up to have strong people set up to face him? Since seemingly all the top stars on RAW have storylines set up for them that don't involve that title.

In Triple H I trust.  As usual, they had a plan and what a great plan it was.  Randy Orton has every reason to go after Gunther in Berlin and I can’t wait to see it.  With Vince in charge, it was easy to criticize right away since he almost never had a good plan.  Triple H is a different story.

Update from Ron Frank: I watched the Summerslam replay last night.  Miz actually announced the attendance as a new SummerSlam American attendance record.
