It is Wednesday and Dynamite is in the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greensville, SC.
Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz.
Our NEW American Champion, MJF is on his way to the ring to speak to the crowd. He says he will walk into All In London and beat Will Ospreay again while mocking the South. He asks them to rise for their American Hero and they don’t.
Will Ospreay runs to the ring and MJF bails. Will says he needs to keep running after what he said about Will’s family. He says people refuse to acknowledge the title because MJF is holding it. He says people worked hard to make the International title have a legacy, and he goes down the list of people who have held the title. Not only that, but he says MJF isn’t worthy of holding the International Championship. Opsreay says he will restore honor to the International championship.
MJF says if the fans like Will, they are disgusting turncoats. He lets his actions do the talking, and at All In, he will beat him, but tonight, something will happen to Will and he won’t make it to All In. Tonight, everybody dies.
Will Opsreay vs Lance Archer
We got a couple of weeks of Archer destroying people so that he was set up for this match. Archer tosses Will around the ring and then to the floor. Will gets a hurricanrana. They both hit the ring and Will gets a one count. Archer goes back to tossing Will around the ring. Archer has an excellent move when Will runs into his foot and Archer just stomps downward. Archer also gets a chokeslam that looks more like he was just tossing Will from the top. Will goes for a hidden blade and Archer just clotheslines him out of his shoes.
Will turns a black-out into a DDT and then gets a DDT for one. If they want to impress me, they’d have Archer win, but instead Will gets two hidden blades for the pin and the win.
Winner: Will Opsreay
MJF attacks Will after the match and Lance Archer fades back into limbo for a few months.Kyle Fletcher shadows to drive MJF off. On the stage, MJF calls for a mic and Kyle gets a mic as well. Kyle tells Don Callis that even if he’s not a part of the Don Callis Family, but Will is his best friend and he won't let MJF injure him with no repercussions. He tells MJF he is his karma coming to bite him in the ass. Kyle says he also heard what MJF said about foreign wrestlers, but he’s here because it’s where the best wrestle.
He calls out MJF, and MJF takes his shirt off and then grabs a mic and says “no.” He then says that he’ll give Kyle a match on his time next week. He says he will kangaroo kick his face off and he’ll suffer the same fate as Daniel Garcia. He can't wait to see the look on Will’s face when he dismantles Kyle.Great promos from everyone involved, lots of passion, setting up matches and the stakes involved as they build toward All In.
We then get a video to hype Swerve Strickland.
Alex Marvez is with Chris Jericho, Large William and Bryan Keith. William has a cake to celebrate 102 days as FTW champion. IT’S A CAKE ON THE WRESTLING SHOW! Jericho says no one will get this cake smashed in their face, but he can’t take Shibata out, so Bryan Keith will take him out next week. Keith makes a move to knock the cake into Alex’s face, but doesn’t tell him to respect Chris Jericho and eat the cake.
Willow Nightingale (CMLL Women’s Champion) vs Kris Statlander w/Stokely Hathaway in an Eliminator match
Statlander starts with a shotgun dropkick from the top and the bell rings. This is put together as a Babyface Gets Revenge match and Statlander pulls heel tactics, and she’s fantastic at it. From someone who came in with a goofy “space alien” gimmick from the indies, Statlander has settled into a hard as nails heel after a long babyface run. Statlander gets a lot of power moves and gets to show her strength. Willow is a bit slow to kick out when Statlander gets a 450 from the top.
Stokely hands Statlander a chain and then distracts the ref so she can use it for a punch, the pin, and the win.
Winner: Kris Statlander, who gets a title shot.
After the match, Statlander goes after Willow with a chair, and security hits the ring. Statlander takes out security and Stokely tells her to stop.
We then get a clip of Jeff Jarrett telling Bryan Danielson to give his title match at All In everything he’s got.
Bryan Danielson comes to the ring to talk to us after the commercial break. Bryan says he got engaged in Greensboro, and you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone, and the crowd chants no. He says when he had to retire, coming back has made it so he knows he is in the good old days and he is able to be present at this point in his career.
He then talks about how he promised his daughter he had signed his last contract and that contract ends tomorrow. He said when he showed up, he said he would do two things. Kick people’s heads in, and win the World title. He’s done one, but he hasn’t done the other. Yet. He says this is his last shot, and he says doctors and family are asking him not to wrestle, but he will go to Wembley and give 100 percent.
Fired up promo from Danielson.
He is cut off by Swerve Strickland’s music.
Swerve and Prince Nana hit the ring and Swerve says he respects Danielson, and if it were any other time, he’d be rooting for him. But this is Swerve’s time. He says the title isn’t something you get for 25 years or service, and he goes over Danielson’s losses and says his body is too broken down. He says after he’s done with Danielson, Danielson may never walk again.
Danielson says he has one more promise. He says if he doesn’t win, he will never wrestle again.,
So, it’s title vs career. They shake hands and Swerve says not to keep the promise to him, he needs to keep it with his family.
In the back, Renee Paquette asks Danielson about his comments, and when he runs into Jeff Jarrett, and when Jarrett is cheering him, Danielson says “You’ll see I’m all in when we have a match next week.”
Rush, The Beast Mortos, and Roderick Strong vs The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Tomohiro Ishii, and Orange Cassidy)
Don Callis joins commentary, so this match is where they took the names of all of the company heels, put them in a hat and drew four.
Cassidy starts with comedy bits treating Mortos as a bull and then doing four revolutions before a DDT. From here, it’s just spotlight time as each person on each team gets to have some time in the ring to show off who they are and what they do. Not much in the way of a story or moving anything forward here, just everyone gets to give the crowd what they want.
I am fine with it. Ishii is amazing to watch, and Briscoe is moving into the role as one of the best babyfaces in the company, but they have done such a good job of building to All In with every segment, this feels like it doesn’t quite fit in. Mortos finally gets a spike slam for the pin and the win.
Winners: Rush, The Beast Mortos, and Roderick Strong
If they are setting up for Mortos to start chasing the Ring of Honor World Title, it can be a decent series.
We then get a video from The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn and they challenge FTR for Collision.
We then see Mariah May with Reenee Paquette, and May says there’s nothing more she has to explain. She got close to Toni Storm and gained her trust and then sliced her open. Toni gave her everything she ever wanted, and while Toini said the business would eat her alive, it was her time to eat. And May said she would answer no more questions.
Excellent, creepy segment.
Toni Storm comes to the stage and says she loved Mariah May, Storm says you should find what you love and let it kill you, and at All In, it’s gonna be the romance of a lifetime. The announcers put over that Storm has been driven over the edge.
We then get video of the angle between Mercedes Mone and Britt Baker at San Diego Comic Con, and now the match is official.
Kamille w/Mercedes Mone vs The Already In The Ring Brittany Jade
That was fast.
Winner: Kamille
More has a mic and says Kamille is part of Mone Corporation. Mone says she has been victimized by Britt Baker, and has tried to turn the other cheek, but Baker keeps attacking and is obsessed with her. But then, everyone is obsessed with her. Baker has been suspended by the EVPs and she's gonna turn this house Baker Built into a mansion.
There is a guy in a referee shirt right behind Mone doing the Brat dance. And yes, I am not too old to know what that is.
Darby Allin vs Hangman Adam Page
They are pushing this that these are two AEW originals who have never met. Page goes right after Allin’s shoulder, and they fight outside the ring. Allin crawls to the stage and Page carries a chair while following him. As Page is yelling at the ref, Darby attacks him and then hits a coffin drop off the top of the entrance tunnel.
When we come back from commercial, they have returned to the ring. The story has become how Page is being brutal to Allin, is always getting in the face of the ref, and loves the booing of the crowd. The lighting the ring go out for a bit, I don't know if it had anything to do with the match. Taz says a fuse might have blown and Tony says he expected someone to show up when the lights were out.
They go back to brawling on the floor, and have moved the steel steps for something big there. Allin is power bombed onto the apron three times in a row and then Page does a fallaway slam into the steel steps. They fight through another commercial break, and Page gets another fallaway slam from the top. Darby gets his first major attack since coming off the tunnell with an escaping a pile driver on the steel steps and then hitting a spear on Page through the ropes.
When they return to the ring, Darby goes after Page with his belt. Darby gets a Code Red for two, and it’s time for his flurry of attacks. Darby goes for a coffin drop, but Page catches him and tries to make it a choke, but Darby rolls into a pin for two. Darby tries for a buckshot, but Page clotheslines him instead. Page hits a pair of deadeyes and the announcer put over the Page’s face is clouded with rage. Darby collapses when Page goes for the buckshot.
Page picks Darby up and Darby gets a surprise rollup for the pin and the win.
Winner: Darby Allin
Page feels it was a quick count and has words with the ref, but the announcers say it was a clean count. And we are desperately out of time!
