7/21/24 Results from the G1 Climax 34 from Osaka, Japan
Konosuke Takeshita had a prior scheduled match with DDT so he and Jeff Cobb will not take place on this event, and rescheduled later in the tournament.
1 - SANADA vs. Callum Newman
Newman and SANADA used their speed in their attacks. SANADA avoids two Oscutter attempts and hits a Deadfall.

Callum Newman has 2 points.
Newman needs to separate himself from Will Ospreay. He needs to change up his character and finisher to be a unique character. The comparisons to Ospreay will continue to hurt him if he does not break out from that mold.
2 - Boltin Oleg vs. HENARE
HENARE was very stiff with Oleg with strikes and kicks. Oleg hit an Oklahoma Stampede. HENARE avoids a Kamikaze and hits a springboard kick. Oleg hits a Kamikake but HENARE kicks out. Oleg powers out of Ultima. HENARE hits a headbutt and Streets of Rage.

Boltin Oleg has 2 points.
Oleg looks good against the NEVER Openweight Champion. With more experience, Oleg could fit in with the Japanese Strong Style in the NEVER division.
3 - Great O-Khan vs. Gabe Kidd
Match goes into the crowd. Both men brawl among the fans. O-Khan whipped Kidd through a guardrail into the fan’s chairs. O-Khan tried to tie up Kidd’s arm in chairs. They get back in the ring and they toss each other out again. They trade German suplex. O-Khan hits a GFO then an Olympic Slam. Kidd hits a headbutt. O-Khan with a closed fist. Kidd hits a Rebound Lariat.
Kidd pins O-Khan.
Gabe Kidd has 2 points.
Great O-Khan has 0 points.
Gabe Kidd keeps improving in these hard hitting matches. Good performance by both wrestlers.
4 - El Phantasmo vs. Ren Narita
Narita attacked the left leg of ELP. Narita teased the break up of G.O.D. ELP got angry. He hit a top rope Frankensteiner and Thunderkiss 86. Narita kicks out. Narita chop blocks the injured leg and hits a Double Cross.
Narita pins ELP.
Ren Narita has 2 points.
El Phantasmo has 0 points.
5 - Jake Lee vs. EVIL
Lee pokes EVIL and Togo in the eyes at the start. EVIL takes the match to the floor and uses his House of Torture tactics to take control. Lee hits a hard knee to the gut, stomps on EVIL’s abdomen and traps him in a high angle Boston Crab.
Togo rings the bell to distract everyone. Referee bumps. Togo tries to choke Lee with the wire but Lee powers out. Lee kicks Togo then chokes EVIL with the wire. Lee tosses the wire to EVIL and falls to the mat, as the referee gets back in the ring.
Lee hits a high back suplex. Two count. Lee grabs EVIL. EVIL pokes Lee in the eyes. Lee hits a Choke Slam. EVIL kicks out. Lee still clutches at his eyes. Lee goes for the Facebreak Shot but misses. Togo throws powder in Lee’s face. EVIL hits Everything is Evil.

EVIL has 4 points.

6 - Hirooki Goto vs. Yuya Uemura
Good competitive match. Goto finds his groove and hits a reverse GTR and a lariat. Goto hits a GTW for a two count. Goto hammers Uemura with kicks. Uemura blocks a kick and hits headbutt. Uemura reverses out of a GTR and hits a Deadbolt suplex.

Yuya Uemura has 4 points.
Hirooki Goto has 0 points.
7 - Shota Umino vs. Shingo Takagi
Stiff match between these two men. Umino with an Exploder off the top rope. Takagi with a Superplex. Sliding Lariat by Takagi. Two count. Takagi with a Torture Rack into a gut buster. Umino with an Ignition. Takagi with a Pumping Bomber and a Noshigami. Takagi hits Made in Japan. Two count. Umino hits a DDT. They trade strikes. Umino hits a Blaze Blade. Two count. Umino hits a Death Rider.
Umino pins Takagi.

8 - Tetsuya Naito vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
Really good match. Anytime these two are matched up, it will be a show. ZSJ had a problem with his left arm as he was favoring it. ZSJ goes for a Zack Driver but Naito reverses into a modified Destino. Naito goes for another Destino but ZSJ reverses into a Zack Driver. They trade strikes. They exchange reversals. ZSJ traps Naito in the Clarky Cat.

Zack Sabre Jr. jumped from ring and grabbed the World Heavyweight Title. He walked to the hard camera in the crowd and posed with the belt. The Frontman is calling his shot for Wrestle Kingdom.
9 - Yota Tsuji vs. David Finlay
Another stiff match. Both men worked on each other’s midsection. Finlay avoids a Malo Crash and pushes Tsuji to the floor. Both men are hurt. Finlay bounces Tsuji off the guardrails and ring post.
Finlay hits a Dominator. Two count. Tsuji hit a knee to the head. Finlay blocks a Gene Blaster and hits Into Oblivion. Two count.
Finlay with three powerbombs. But Finlay is too exhausted to get the pin. They trade strikes. Tsuji hits a head butt and a Gene Blaster. Tsuji hits a Malo Crash.
Tsuji pins Finlay.

David Finlay has 0 points.
Both Naito (IWGP World Champion) and Finlay (IWGP Global Champion) have zero points, but they have set up potential challengers for the future. Very good booking.
