Reading your Q&A about referee backgrounds today, and it got me thinking of the Hall of Fame. Since you said referees are talent, do you think referees should be eligible for induction? I know Tim White was, but that was the Warrior Award. IMO the Hall has managers, announcers, commentators, bookers, so it should absolutely have referees too. Off the top of my head, the Hebners, Joey Marella, Jack Doan, Charles Robinson, Nick Patrick, etc have all earned spots.
Actually, Mike said that, it was his question. My take on the Hall is that it’s not a regular type of HOF, it’s more whoever WWE wants to put in so sure, refs can go in if they want to put them.
As an aside, now that Vince McMahon is gone, do you think Rita Chatterton could ever be honoured in some way by WWE? Or do you think that would attract negative attention to the company?
First off, Chatterton has a brief run with the company so I don’t know what honor they could really bestow on her. Even with the Hall Of Fame being so arbitrary, I can’s see an induction coming for her. And honestly, I don’t see any reason for TKO to do anything with her. All it would do is remind the world of the accusations made against Vince. If I were the braintrust there I would avoid anything to do with Vince at all costs.
Are Bo Dallas and Dexter Lumis the luckiest guys in the world these past few years by getting a full salary for sitting at home while creative has nothing for them?
No, they aren’t. They would have much rather have been working and doing what they love to do. Very few people in the wrestling business want to get paid not to work. They want to perform.
Given Donald Trump's relationship with Vince McMahon, if Trump wins the election, do you see a potential path for Vince to somehow return to WWE by either a) Trump issuing a presidential pardon to Vince, or b) Trump using his influence/power to get Janel Grant's lawsuit thrown out?
See above. TKO doesn’t want Vince back, they have made that pretty clear. I could definitely see Trump pardoning Vince if he becomes President and Vince is found guilty in a Federal court, but I don’t see Trump getting involved in getting the lawsuit tossed in any way. That will be up to Vince to try and do.
How insensitive is it for Tony Khan, who features Owen Hart's name so prominently on his programming, and who has such a good relationship with Martha Hart, to have his wrestlers (Sting and Darby) rappel down from the ceiling on several occasions?
I was told he consulted Martha Hart about it and she gave the OK. I think if she had an issue with it we would have heard from her by now.
