AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded Wednesday after Dynamite at the the Calgary Stampede Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta CANADA. 

Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness.

Konosuke Takeshita vs Tommy Billington

Don Callis joins commentary. 

They lock up collar and elbow and then break. Tommy then gets a quick hip toss and they run the ropes, with Tommy not able to get a shoulder tackle and runs into Takeshita’s big boot. He then gets a shoulder tackle, and Takeshita rolls to the floor to regroup. Takeshita gets back in the ring and when they lock up, Takeshita drives Tommy into the corner and then breaks clean.  Tommy gets a drop kick.

They run the ropes and Takeshita is able to stop him and lay in jabs in the ropes. Tommy hits a big cross body into the ropes and they go to the floor. Tommy works him over on the floor. Takeshita is rolled into the ring, and Tommy goes to the top. Takeshita knocks him down and lays in back elbows. He then goes to the top and they fight on the top. Talkeshita hits a superplex from the top for two. 

Taekshita gets a rear chinlock on the mat. Takeshita lays in knees and then grabs a reverse butterfly stretch. Tommy works to his feet and tries to reverse the hold. Taekshita releases the hold and gives a forearm strike. They trade waistlocks and Takeshita shoves Tommy into the ringpost through the ropes as we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Tommy hits a cross body from the top to Takeshita on the floor. He rolls Takeshita into the ring and hits a shotgun drop kick. He then gets a snap suplex and goes to the top again. Takeshita is able to get up and tosses Tommy across the ring. Takeshita waits for Tommy to get up. Takeshita misses a charge in the corner. Tommy tries a pile driver, and they both reverse until Tommy gets the pile driver.  

Both men struggle to get up. Tommy crawls to the corner and goes to the top. He tries for the headbutt, but Takeshita gets up so that Tommy misses it. They trade waistlocks and Takeshita hits a tilt a whirl slam for two. Tommy reverses a small package for a two count and then hits  back elbow. Takeshita gets a lariat and follows with a running knee strike for the pin and the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita

Don Callis gets in the ring and says that Tommy wrestled the match of a lifetime. He says that Tommy has everything he looks for in a wrestler. He says Bad News Allin was both his mentor and the Dynamite Kid’s mentor and offers him membership in the Don Callis Family. Tommy tells him to kiss his ass.  Callis slaps him and then Takeshita beats him down. 

Kyle Fletcher comes to the ring and joins in.  EWe then get FTR’s music and they hit the ring to drive off the Don Callis Family.

We then get a video recap of Mariah May winning the Owen Hart Tournament and turning on Toni Storm.

The Bang Bang Gang (Austin and Colton Gunn and Juice Robinon) AEW Trios Champions vs The Already In The Ring Michael Allen Richard Clark, Shaun Moore and London Lightning

Juice starts by giving up a headlock and it quickly becomes all three of the Gang working over Moore. Clark tags in and the Gang work him over while showboating. Clark takes a 3:10 to Yuma and it’s all over.

Winners: The Bang Bang Gang

After the match, the Gang says that Juice Robinson is now officially part of the Championship group since Jay White is out with an injury. Christopher Daniels comes out and says if Jay White is out, they are not allowed to substitute, so they are stripped of the championships.

This brings out Christian Cage and the Patriarchy. He says that  Daneils made the right call of stripping them of the titles, and they need to be awarded to the Patriarchy.  Daneils says that won’t fly, but he will have a match between the Patriarchy and the NEW Bang Bang Gang.  Juice calls for it to happen right here, right now.  Cage says it depends on if the fans want to see it.

Since the fans want it, it’s not happening tonight because Cage won’t let it be tarnished by happening in Calgary. 

We then get a promo video for Jack Perry. 

When we come back from commercials, we get a brief video from The House of Black.

This is followed with a short video with Jeff Jerrett about presenting the Owen Hart cup. 

Roderick Strong w/Mike Bennett and Matt Taven vs Dalton Castle w/The Outrunners in a #1 contender match for the Ring of Honor World Title

They lock up, go to arm bars, and Strong breaks first. Castle grabs a waistlock and Strong goes to the ropes for the break ato the floor to regroup. He returns to the ring and Castle goes to mat work. Strong kicks him away and Castle goes to the floor to regroup. Castle gets fired up by the Outrunners posing as if it’s 1987.

Castle gets back in the ring and they fight in the corner. Strong is dropped on the top turnbuckle and Castle gets a running knee from the apron to knock Strong to the floor. Castle gets a tejaris on the floor and rolls Strong on the floor as the Kingdom and the Outrunners have words. Strong hits a drop kick onto Castle amidst the chaos and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Strong gives dismissing kicks to knock Castle to the mat. Castle is able to grab Strong’s leg for a suplex. Castle gets a pair of strikes and then works him over in the corner, faceplants him for two. Castel keeps working over Strong with knees. Castle gets a pair of gut wrench suplexes and then go into the ropes. Castle gets a leaping knee, but misses a second and falls to the floor. Castle gets on the apron, Strong grabs him there, and hits a suplex for two. 

Castle starts the bangarang, but Strong is able to slide down and escape it. He tries for a second and Strong escapes, hitting a running knee for the pin and the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong.

We then get a video from Mark Briscoe from hsi farm and he says AEW gave him a week off, but he never takes time off. He says when he fights Roderick Strong for the ROH title, he’s wiser now. 

We come back to Stokely Hathaway and Kris Statlnder and Lexi Nair interrupts them. Kris says their intentions are that she’s petty and Stokely is a hater and they wouldn't let Willow Nightingale get away with what she did to them. Stokely says Willow is a con artist because she thinks a smile and positivity can make your life better. Statlander says that this will never end for Willow. 

Nyla Rose vs The Already In The Ring Ava Lawless

Ava is a local wrestler, so she gets a nice chant before the bell. Ava gets a series of blows but is halted when she goes for a suplex. Rose gets a sidewalk slam, followed by a vertical suplex and a face plant. Rose hits the Beast Bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Nyla Rose

Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin) w/Action Andretti vs Lee Moriarty and Anthony Ogogo w/Shane Taylor

Lee and Dante start the match with arm bars and Lee gets an arm drag. Dante gets an arm drag rollup for two. Dante gets a quick series of rollups. Darius is tagged in and he gets a drop kick for two. Lee forces them to the corner and Ogogo tags in and gets a running uppercut for two. He works over Darius in the corner and then whips him back into the corner. Darius tries for an arm drag, but Ogogo blocks it. Darius gets a back slide for two, Ogogo gets a shoulder thrust to the gut, and then whips Darius into his own corner.

Dante tags in and they work over Ogogo with quick tags. Ogogo is able to get the setup for a heat seeker with Darius on the middle rope, but he breaks the hold when the ref counts. Lee sweeps Darius’s arms out from under him, so he hits the mat as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Darius has been the babyface in peril. Darius is able to get a snap suplex and crawls to his corner. Ogogo and Dante are in the ring and Dante runs wild ending the run with a cross body for two. Dante turns a back heel kick into a rollup for two. Ogogo gets a pop up right hand on Dante, knocking him to the floor. 

Darius gets a step up insigiri on Ogogo, knocking him to the floor. Lee gets a waistlock and gets a slam clothesline for two. Lee lays in strike and Darius fights to his feet. They trade blows and kicks Darius gets a bulldog through the ropes and then kicks from the floor.  As the ref is checking on Lee, Taylor sweeps Dairus’s legs. Andretti leaps front he top onto Taylor on the floor. 

Lee gets a rollup for two. Darius gets an F5 for the pin and the win.

Winners: Top Flight

Taylor hits the ring after the match and the beat down begins. 

Deonna Purrazzo is with Lexy Nair and she says she promised to burn AEW to recreate the Age of the Virtuosa and if that means rearranging Thunder Rosa’s body, then so be it. Rosa shows up and says she is sick and tired of it. She says she will wait for the bell to ring so she can beat her straight. Purrazzo says she has beat her before and will beat her again. Rosa says that next week, she will beat her in a Lumberjack match.  

Skye Blue vs Harley Cameron w/Saraya

They grab each other’s hair and then release. Harley gets a quick rollup for two. Harley whips Blue to the corner and they fight there, each taking a turn. Harley gets a running clothesline and then hammers down on Blue. She gets on top of Blue for one. They fight in the corner and Blue is able to get a kick to Harley’s head. Harley falls to the floor and Blue follows. Saraya distracts Blue so that Harley can attack as we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, both women have taken each other down with a clothesline and are trading blows back and forth. Blue gets a shotgun drop kick and follows with a running knee. Blue gets a knee strike and swinging neckbreaker for two. Harley fights out of a Fireman’s carry and then goes up and over in the corner to roll up Blue for two. Harley gets a jawbreaker for two.

Blue gets a small package for two. Harley gets a running knee for two. Harley tries for a back stabber, but Blue holds onto the ropes and covers for two. Blue gets a heel kick  and a crucifix shot, and then locks on a new submission that looks like a reverse head and arm choke and Harley has to submit.

Winner: Skye Blue

Next is a video recapping what Chris Jericho has been doing the last few weeks. 

In the back, Skye Blue says people need to put some respect on her name, so to show she has earned that respect, she challenges Hikaru Shida for next week. 

The Undisputed Kingdom (MIke Bennett and Matt Taven) Ring of Honor Tag Team Champions vs The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy and Kyle O’Reilly)

Roderick Strong joins commentary. 

Kyle starts the match and both Taven and Bennett tease getting in the ring and then getting out. They then talk about how they don’t want to fight Kyle, so Cassidy dives onto them. Bennett gets in the ring and he and Cassidy run the ropes. They trade arm drags, and then Cassidy raises an arm so that Bennett can't grab it and Bennett falls to the mat. Taven grabs him from behind reverses, shoves him to Bennett, Taven comes back and Cassidy gets a back body drop. Cassidy gets a side headlock and Bennett shoots him into the ropes. Cassidy dodges a clothesline and rolls to the floor as Kyle lays in kicks from his blind tag.

Kyle grabs Taven’s leg, and Taven rakes the eyes. Cassidy gets back in the ring and gets a stundog millionaire and Kyle gets an ankle lock. Kyle is shot off into the ropes where Taven gets in a kick. Cassidy dives onto Bennett on the floor, but Bennett gets in a big blow on Cassidy before getting on the apron where Kyle gets a sleeper. Bennett gets a jawbreaker in the ropes. When he gets in the ring, Kyle leaps on his back for another sleeper. Taven kicks Kyle off of Bennett’s back for two as Cassidy pulls Kyle out of the ring to break the count.

Everyone is back in the ring and Cassidy takes out Bennett with a kick, Taven takes out Cassidy with another kick. Taven yells he didn’t want to do this. Kyle gets a knee in the ropes, Bennett punches him into the ropes and Kyle comes off with a rebound clothesline taking them both out and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Cassidy is fighting out of the corner of The Kingdom. Taven whips Cassidy into the ropes, pops him up when he comes out and Bennett nails him with a strike and covers for two. They go back to stomping him down in the corner. Undisputed Kingdom work over Cassidy with quick tags. Cassidy leaps over a charge from Bennett and Taven misses a big splash as Cassidy crawls for the hot tag. Cassidy breaks away from a series of leg grabs from both Bennett and then Taven.

Kyle gets the hot tag and cleans house. Kyle gets a juji gatame on Bennett, and Taven stomps on him to break it up, and Kyle grabs his foot for a leg bar. The Kingdom are able to break free and double team a neck breaker for two, with Cassidy breaking it up. Cassidy is tossed to the floor. Undisputed Kingdom set up for a double team, but Kyle reverses and catapults Bennett into Taven on the top.

Cassidy is tagged in and he gets the spinning DDT on Bennett. He drops the elbow pad and runs into a punch with Bennett. Cassidy tries for the Beach Break, but Taven grabs Bennett’s feet from the apron to prevent it. Kyle kicks Taven to the floor and then puts a headlock on Bennett while Cassidy holds him. Kyle then gets a running knee from the apron onto Taven on the floor, allowing Cassidy to hit the Beach Break for two.

Strong says it’s gotten out of hand and leaves commentary. Kyle is tagged in, Strong gets on the apron and yells at Kyle. Ishii come s from the back and pulls Strong from the apron. As he does that, Trent Beretta comes out of the crowd and pulls Cassidy off the apron. In the ring, Bennett gets a two count. Ishii and Strong fight up the ramp to the back. Kyle gets a juji gitame, but Taven comes off the top to break it up. Taven is tagged in and Undisputed Kingdom hits a spike piledriver for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Undisputed Kingdom.

Beretta is still attacking Cassidy yelling “I was supposed to win!” He then hits the ring and attacks Kyle. Undisputed Kingdom pull him off and Cassidy gets in the ring behind Beretta with a monkey wrench and nails him from behind. 

The Undisputed Kingdom head up the ramp and Ishii charges them, taking them down with a double clothesline, leaving the Conglomeration standing tall.
