Spotlight Match: Marcus Mathers vs Masha Slamovich 

HOW IS THIS THE SPOTLIGHT?!? They just go at it and FIGHT. Both competitors are explosive in their own ways. For every quick escape and flip that Marcus does, Masha is quick to respond with heavy shots. This is super hard hitting. Masha just walking Marcus down with stomps at one point. Marcus wants the bozo buster but Masha hits a huge saito for two. Marcus rallies back. Bozo Buster connects and he gets the win! Masha is her usual aggressive self in loss…but she drags Marcus to the center to hold his arm up! HOT opener.

Longtime Beyond attendee is out here to kick off the main show with a bit of a salute to America guitar solo! Crowd is fiiiiiiired up! We’re kicking off the 10th Americanrana! Rich Palladino is our master of ceremonies!

Match 1: Big Bacon Brad Hollister(c) vs ALEX Shelley (for the Wrestling Open Championship)

BROUGHT TO YOU BY DNASEVOLUTION.COM? It’s a me! XD - Shelley gets the champ to the ropes and gives him  a little spank. Everyone BUT Brad finds that hilarious. Shelley outworking Bacon early but the champ sends him into the buckles and starts the beating. Shelley with a trip into the buckles and wraps his knees against the post like it was a scallop. Hard kick to the thigh. Dragon screw! Figure four! Bacon’s in trouble! He tries for the jackhammer but his legs are a mess! Brad traps Shelley with a sharpshooter, rope break! Shelley with a BRUTAL assault on Hollister’s knee. Hard chops back and forth. Bacon tries the Jackhammer against but Shelley tries to reverse it…and Bacon rolls him up with a handful of tights and gets the three! Booooooo! Solid match and performance from both competitors but maybe the energy suffered a little from the fire that was that spotlight match. 

 

Match 2: Hot Sauce Tracy Williams vs Janai Kai

Hot Sauce vs the Kick Demon!!! This has got some big fight feel as Sauce keeps finding a way through the standup of Kai and getting a takedown. Kai with a reverse and a heavy kick finally drops Williams. Hot sauce has a game plan and goes right for those legs. Kai gets caught in the ropes and Williams hits a rolling leg lariat to the knee. Cool little sequence. Reverse DVD drops Kai right on that joint. Kai has definitely shown a lot of growth in the last few years but Hot Sauce is the consummate veteran and is just handling her with ease. Kai finally starts to fire up. Kick after kick! Hard sweep faceplants Williams. Rapid kicks to the chest and back! Williams with a gory special and bomb. He goes for the ankle lock. He blocks a spinning head kick and lands a huge clothesline for two! Kai hits the spinning head kick. Williams is KO’d in the corner but still on his feet….Kai lands a running kick that finishes the job and gets the three!

 

Match 3: Drew Gulak vs Tom Lawlor

I notice that commentary has been replaced by Hot Sauce Tracy Williams and Ortiz. Gulak starts strong as an aggressive antagonist. A very patriotic Lawlor with the comeback, hits a stiff V trigger for two. Gulak off the top…lands in a codebreaker. Lawlor with a chicken wing takeover from the top. Cravat and a flurry of knees! Gulak fights off a straitjacket choke….he gets caught in a sleeper….over to the ref…Gulak with a back kick low blow stuns Lawlor. He hits a spike slam to gets the three as the crowd boos that finish. Gulak has a mic. It doesn’t work? Immediate backstage promo from SLADE. SLADE is coming back for a fight and he’s taking Gulak’s soul. This was the most bizarre SLADE promo ever. Massive Bobby Orlando energy. We like this a lot. Gulak is fighting Slade at the Redemption Rock show this weekend???

Match 4: Big Business (Victor Chase, TJ Crawford, Julio Cruz & Love Doug) vs Jermaine Marbury, Fancy Ryan Clancy, Dezmond Cole & Pedro Dones

Great showcase of the biggest heel faction in Wrestling Open vs a murderer’s row of their top baby faces. Wild back and forth energy between everyone. Doug is still riding that line as a babyface in a heel faction, having fun with his opponents but he’s still there to fight. Towards the end, Pedro completes a dive party to the floor on everyone. Dones dodges a silver bullet and hits a samoan drop! What is Gal doing here?!? Not again! The distraction is enough and TJ blindsides Pedro with a silver bullet for the win. Gal hits the ring and blasts Dones with a chair. No one is here to save him. He pillmanizes Pedro’s leg and struts out to a chorus of boos. 

 

Match 5: Donovan Dijak vs Aaron Rourke

Rourke’s outfit is AMAZING tonight and was clearly done with original opponent Blackheart Lio Rush in mind. But Beyond legend and former Ace Donovan Dijak is a HELL of a replacement. The crowd comes absolutely UNGLUED as Dijak comes through the curtain. It’s been a LONG time. Rourke is landing some good shots but Dijak is just pummeling him early, yelling in his face and just chopping that meat. Rourke chopping back…flip to a codebreaker! Another! 619! Dijak cuts off the rally with a superkick to the top rope! Rourke with a sunset flip bomb! High cross body for two! Rourke trying to keep this rolling and get one of the biggest wins on a returning ace. Dijak with a discus big boot! Kick out! Huuuuuuuge sitout chokebomb for two! Dijak goes for the moonsault…German off the top from Rourke! PK for two!!! Rourke hits a blue Thunder bomb! Kick out! Dijak crashes him to the mat with a super sitout chokebomb! Kick out! THIS is the Americanrana match we were waiting for! Both guys struggle to their feet. Rourke blows Dijak a kiss. Trading blows…Rourke escapes Feast Your Eyes! Spinning head kicks! Reverse cannonball! Split legged moonsault! Rourke hits FEAST YOUR EYES! Dijak rebounds with a discus boot and hits the real deal FYE for the win! Fantastic 18-min contest! Crowd blows up for this. Dijak raises Rourke’s hand and lets him soak in the crowd’s approval. What a match!

Match 6: Church of Greatness (Ichiban & Tyree Taylor w/ Brother Greatness)(c) vs Midnight Heat (Eddie Pearl & Ricky Gibson) (for the Wrestling Open tag team championships)

What a first defense for the inaugural champs! The first defense of a seven day reign! What  holy number! Gibson just getting rolled by the chemistry of the champs. Gibson eats a Goro-style double ten punch! Pearl in fast but Ichiban sending him for the ride over and over. Gibson with a blind tag in and hits a snap ddt to take control for the challengers. They keep Ichiban isolated. Smart move. Great double axe handle dominator combo. Ichiban won’t quit. Ichiban won’t stay down. Taylor is on the apron, storing up all his specials. Midnight Heat doing everything to keep him away though. Ichiban with a mule kick and gets to the corner! Tag to Tyree! Powerslam and running kick to Gibson! Ichiban flies off Tyree’s shoulders to the floor! Gibson tossed in for a Skull Crushing Finale/Ichi Bankai combo that secures their first successful defense! This was a blast and a hot return from the intermission. 

 

Match 7: Alec Price vs Joey Janela

We love Janela here. 80% love Price. 20% REEEEEEEAAAAALLLY HATES Alec Price. Tonight the “FAP Crew” is in full force. Both guys are going hard early. It’s clear the crowd reaction is getting in Price’s head as he keeps having to stop to recalibrate….and that lets Joey keep coming back. Good back and forth fighting…Janela turns it on with forearms and a snap German. Brain bustahhhhh! Price with a disaster kick! Crowd split heavily. They battle to the top…Price with a butterfly German to the apron! Jeeeesus! They barely make the ten count. Price with a suicide dive…Janela catches him to a dvd! Ahhhhh. This match goes back and forth. Heavy fire on both sides. This segment of the crowd is absolutely insufferable. If you thought the Suck Me Crew was annoying…you ain’t seen nothing. IYKYK. Blockbustah! Janela kicks out! Joey with a bomb reversal on the Suprize kick! Big lariat! German! Alec tries to slingshot but Janela catches him into a full on burning hammer for the win! Janela holds his arm up but Price hits a superkick and pummels the bad boy from behind. “No more Mr Nice guy” says Price as he heads to the back….right into the waiting hand of Dijak…price spits in his face and dodges the chair shot to the post! We have a fight between a couple of legit aces on the horizon! I watched this one back on demand and it was definitely a blast bell-to-bell. My live experience was definitely affected by some of the audience…who are at least gonna be booing legitimately now?

Match 8: Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn) vs BUSSY (Effy & Allie Katch) 

BUSSY is having fun at first but as W&C’s entrance continues, they realize they may not be the favorites here tonight. That more bitter side of Katch is starting to show. There appears to be no ref? Holy hell…THE REF IS ORTIZ!!!! We haven’t had a proper Beyond comedy match tonight and this is probably where we see the shenanigans. Sure enough, W&C are fighting over who is gonna take a hip attack from Allie. They want to “finish the story”. IYKYK. The real match kicks into gear as Effy, who has bulked up a lot since I last saw him work, starts to work over Jaelyn. Traevon with the tag and clears Effy but Allie hits that cannonball. Traevon is all fired up! 3D! W&C sent crashing into each other! BUSSY WITH THE TWO MAN POWER TRIP FINISH!!!! Kick out! Traevon wiped out on the apron! Leg lariat bussy bomb! Traevon makes the save. Cactus clothesline sends Effy and Traevon out. Effy hands a confetti popper to Allie. Ortiz takes the popper. Allie tries to fight him for it. He bops her with it, he tries to fire it but it doesn’t go off…but Jaelyn is ready with the roll up and gets the three! Ortiz gets the popper to pop off after the bell. Better later than never! XD

Main Event: Krule(c) vs Megan Bayne (for the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship)

Megan Bayne puts her Beyond/Open/WWR undefeated streak on the line against the unstoppable monster, Krule. And it seems like a bad idea early. Bayne is sent crashing to the floor and Krule just pummels her on the apron. Large clubbing blows to the back of Bayne, who is clearly struggling. She throws some hard chops but Krule folds her in half with a side slam. Bayne with a couple of quick dodges and the beast is stunned. Megan puts everything she has into a spear! German to the atrocity! She torpedos through the ropes to drop Krule on the floor! Krule with a fallaway slam! Bayne hits a flying clothesline! Bayne bombs him off the top! Kick out! Crowd letting out everything they have left for this! Krule pulls a couple of doors into the ring. Krule gets put through a door! Bayne pummels him with door parts! Chokeslam! Kruke kicks out. Krule with his own chokeslam and Bayne folds up again! Krule is busted open! Bayne unloading chops but Krule destroys her with a single chop. Bayne hits a F5!!! Kick out! She comes off the top! Krule chokeslams her through a door! Bayne kicks out! She tries to pick him up for the bow down but he’s too big. She settles for a gutwrench suplex into the wood! Kick out! She come swinging and Krule punches through the remains of a door! Scorched Earth! Megan kicks out!!!! No one kicks out of that! Megan stumbles into Krule’s grip and he drops back into a rear naked choke. Bayne also immediately goes to sleep and the ref has to pull him off. Krule is looking for another kill shot but Marcus Mathers runs in to make the save! Slingshot cutter on Krule and he gets Bayne to safety. Krule stares a hole through the young prodigy as the show closes and Worcester boos the monster. This was a crazy night and what a way to wrap the show up!
