A MAJOR PIECE OF PRO WRESTLING HISTORY MAY BE DEMOLISHED IN TAMPA

The home of Eddie Graham's Championship Wrestling from Florida, the former Sportatorium in Tampa, will likely be demolished in the near future, according to The Tampa Bay Times.

The building, located at 106 N. Albany Avenue, is slated to be demolished and replaced with 235 residential units with groundbreaking on the project to commence next year.

The venue was used from the 1960s through the late 1980s by the promotion (which then owned the property) as well as the PWF group that Mike Graham, Steve Keirn and Dusty Rhodes promoted in the late 1980s.  CWF ran TV tapings every Wednesday in advance of broadcasting that weekend and pushing fans to live events on Tuesday at the nearby Fort Homer W. Hesterly Armory.

The former Sportatorium has sat unused since 2016, according to the article.
