7/5 NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING SOUL RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

07/05/24 Results from New Japan Soul 2024, G1 Climax 34 Preview from Budokan Hall in Tokyo, Japan:

1 - Zack Sabre Jr. and Kosei Fujita vs. KENTA and Gedo

Fujita pins Gedo after hitting Abandon Hope (a vertical suplex into a cutter).

2 - SANADA,  Yuya Uemura and TAKA Michinoku vs. TJP, Great O-Khan and Francesco Akira

Akira hits a Fireball on TAKA and gets the pinfall win.

3 -  Ryusuke Taguchi, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Yuji Nagata, Tomoaki Honma and Tiger Mask vs. Yujiro Takahashi, Ren Narita, SHO, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and EVIL

This is Taguchi's comeback match after his injury.

Narita smacks Honma in the back with the push-up bar.  

EVIL pins Honma after Everything is Evil.

4 - G1 Climax 34 A Block Qualifier FINAL -  Callum Newman vs. YOSHI-HASHI

Good match.   YOSHI-HASHI goes for Karma, but Newman countered into a Cutter. 

Newman traps YOSHI-HASHI in a cradle and gets the pin.

Callum Newman wins the final spot A Block as the final competitor.   

Both men shake hands after the match.

5 - G1 Climax 34 B Block Qualifier FINAL - Boltin Oleg vs. Taichi

Another good match.    Oleg hits an F5 and picks up Taichi and hits a Kamikaze.

Oleg pins Taichi.

Boltin Oleg wins the final spot in the B Block.

Both men shake hands after the match.   Oleg bowed to Taichi and they hugged in the ring.

Taichi was emotional after the match knowing that he helped elevate Oleg.  

6 - Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and BUSHI vs. Yota Tsuji, Hiromu Takahashi and Titan

They hyped the history between all members of LIJ, especially BUSHI and Naito.

This was more of an exhibition match, highlighting all members of LIJ.  It came down to Hiromu and Naito.   Naito hits a Valencia.   Naito goes for a Destino but Hiromu turns it into a Time Bomb.   Both men cannot make a pin.   Naito goes for the cradle.   But the bell rings.

Match is ruled a draw.

All of LIJ does the fist bump in the ring.

7 - IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship - El Desperado vs. DOUKI

Good fun. match.  Desperado went after DOUKI's leg.   Tons of chants for DOUKI in the Budokan.  Desperado got a Stretch Muffler and the Numero Dos.   DOUKI fights back with a Daybreak and the Italian Stretch #32.   Desperado reversed the Italian Stretch into Cloverleaf.  Desperado transitions into Numero Dos, but DOUKI gets to the ropes.   They trade stiff shots.  DOUKI with Dragon Suplex.  Two count.   DOUKI hits Suplex de La Luna.

DOUKI pins Desperado.

Wow!   DOUKI wins the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship!

DOUKI thanks Desperado for the match.  He says he does not think he is better than Desperado but tonight he is.   He wants another match with Desperado soon.

I am  happy for DOUKI to get a run a with the top Junior Title.   He should hold it at least till Wrestle Kingdom.
