WWE filed for a trademark on the title Superbrawl on 7/2.
The name was used by World Championship Wrestling as a PPV from 1991 through the end of the company in 2001.
WWE previously had a trademark on the name, but abandoned it in 2001.
The trademark filing this week was for goods and services in the realms of "Exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing wrestling news and information through broadcast media including television and distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information."
