Wrestling Open “Summer Stunner”

6/27/24 Worcester, MA

The Eliminator Cup ends tonight when we crown our tournament winners and first ever Wrestling Open Tag Team Champions. Will it be for the Ranch or the Church? Let’s goooo!

Spotlight Match: Shimbashi vs Lucas Chase - Good hard hitting back and forth fight. Shimbashi lands a few really good shots that stun the holy cure. Chase hits a snap Samoan drop to put the newcomer away.

Sean the Vegan Keegan is out here to tell us how awesome he is and how much better than up he is. Someone’s clearly going to kill him….hit the music, it’s MEGAN BAYNE!

Match 1: Sean Keegan vs Megan Bayne

Bayne kills Keegan with a flying clothesline, powerbomb and a tombstone in about 20 seconds. It’s brutal. A rare moment for Megasus on the mic…next week? KRULE WILL BOW DOWN. 

Match 2: Paris Van Dale (w/ Lauren St. James) vs Airica Demia

Demia’s whole vibe is like an entire cosplay convention in a single wrestler. Also she’s got this bearded power ranger berserker guy with her that might also be her dad? She shows off early but Paris just grabs the hair and whips her down. Paris takes a swipe at her cornerman and Airica hits a HARD backhand. Eat Dafeet! Kick out! Paris trips her into the buckles and hits her cradle stuffed ddt for the win. Worcester makes sure to wish Paris a crappy birthday. Paris is absolutely livid with Lauren St James’ announcing of her. She gives her one more chance but Lauren is too nervous. Paris fires her. Lauren said she has TRIED to make this work but Paris is a bully! And Next week…Paris has to deal with her backup. DAVIENNE! 

Match 3: Gal vs….

Gal says there’s no match for him tonight. Instead, he’s gonna unveil his own motivational workout segment. I think it involves flexing. Anyways, CPA comes out and says he’s in need of some motivation. CPA says he can motivate Gal. Gal finds that funny. Gal flexes for everyone. CPA rips his shirt off….and you know what’s under it. Gal isn’t laughing anymore and stomps out CPA. Tornado clothesline! Gal struts off, JGeorge slides into the ring and looks to shave CPA again. Not this time! CPA gets the razor and almost takes a chunk out of JGeorge’s scalp with it. 

Match 3: Allie Katch vs Kennedi Hardcastle

Alle iKatch still blames Gabby Forza for losing her shot at Megan Bayne…and she’s taking that aggression out on Hardcastle. Kennedi gets trapped in the apron and Allie just swarms a beating on her. Kennedi fighting back and almost steals the win with a stacking pin. Allie is mad and just smashes Hardcastle with a corner hip attack as she tries to lecture her opponent. Hardcastle with a high crossbody…lariats for two! Kennedi comes running in and Katch smashes her with a scoop bomb for the win. Allie isn’t letting up and is just yelling in Kennedi’s face…Gabby Forzs to the rescue! Gabby says that Allie hasn’t been herself lately…Mommy doesn’t take well to that and piledrives both members of Gnomecastle. What the hellllllll?!?

Match 4: Big Business (Love Doug & Julio Cruz w/ TJ, Victor & Bacon) vs Jermaine Marbury & Dustin Waller 

This is a very convoluted way to get Doug and Cruz on the same page. Apparently this was supposed to be a 6-man fight but Big Boofa had “travel issues” that maybe involved a slashed tire or two. Julio lets Doug do a lot of the opening work. It’s going well against Flash but Marbury flies in and starts chopping away at Doug’s heart. Doug throws a face full of flower petals! Bulldoug!!! Kick out! Julio finally tags in to take the glory. Cruz gets double teamed with a double splash for his over exuberance. Cruz with a Rhyno esque tackle and drives Waller to Doug’s corner. They start doubling up but Waller tries to escape. Doug gets used as a weapon to send Dustin crashing to the apron face first. Lots of slams to Waller…Marbury rallies Waller with the D Fence chant! Hot tag! Doug dodges a frog splash and hits the rebound! Marbury reverses the slice of love to a spinebuster. Tag to Julio..Waller ready with the handspring cutter! Doug breaks up the pin! Flash off the corner post to the rest of big business! Julio tries to steal the roll up….Marbury goes for the kill, Doug eats the Michael Jordan but Victor hits a big back suplex for the win! Good match. Julio clearly has started to respect Doug after he took that bullet for him. 

Match 5: Fancy Ryan Clancy vs Bryce Donovan

Bryce enters from the fire door, as he has been doing lately. At least he already has his wboots on. Clancy isn’t going wait for the tape wrap and this fight kicks right off. Clancy cracks a wicked chop. He wants to send Bruce to the floor but that isn’t happening. Fancy comes flying…right into a black hole slam! Chokeslam! Clancy barely kicks out. Hard whip to the buckles, Bryce goes to his bag to tape up. Clancy keeps trying to mount a comeback but Evil Bryce is just a force tonight. Heavy tosses and slams and big boots cut the fancy man over and over. Fancy finally gets the crowd energy. Bryce is faked out and eats a cross body! running knee strike!!!! Clancy throwing hard kicks all over Donovan! Classic body slam and a neck snapper! Bryce with a powerbomb! Kickout! Huge lariat! Kick out! Clancy tries the rollups. Can a sharpshooter end it? Bryce gets free. He scrambles to his gear bag. I didn’t see what he blasts Clancy with but neither did the ref and when Clancy goes limp…the ref counts three…and Bryce exits through the fire door. Awesome match. 

 Match 6: Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs Sammy Diaz (Wrestling Open Championship #1 Contenders Match)

Can we just observe the GROWTH of Sammy Diaz into a legit contender here? Channing has always been a top tier s***head so to see Diaz in this spot, going for the #1 contenders spot is pretty huge. It’s pretty even but Bakabella makes his presence felt constantly. Huge slams to top five but Diaz continues to kick out. Channing goes for a three amigos but Diaz gets the third one! Crowd willing Sammy back to life! Butterfly corkscrew facebuster! Frankensteiner! Frogsplash from the top! Channing kicks out! Diaz goes knee first into the buckles. Channing puts a target on that joint. Sammy heads back up…Channing with a huge toss off the top! Channing going for a piledriver and Bakabella yells at him to spike it…Channing lets it go and gets in Sidney’s face. What the hell?!? Sammy with a huge flying knee and a cradle shot puts Channing down for the three while Sidney looks on in shock.

Main Event: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson, Danny Miles or Hammer Tunis) vs Church of Greatness (Ichiban & Tyree Taylor) (Tournament Final for the Wrestling Open Tag Team Championships)

It’s Ranch Rules so WHICH two person combo is fighting tonight? Brother Greatness was sidelined after the Ranch’s attack last week so the Church is already at a bit of a disadvantage. Hammer is on the outside tonight, it looks like. Stetson and Miles take their corner. The church come running! Tyree sends the ranch to the floor and Ichiban with a whisper in the wind to the outside!!! Huge corner spear to Miles for two! Stetson in to trade kicks with Ichiban! We spell the word. Stetson with a hotshot to Ichiban and starts unloading on the former Open champion. The crowd tries to jeer the ranch but they just beat on Ichiban harder. Huge suplex cutter from Miles. Stetson yells “let it out!” As we boo. Ichiban popped up but he comes down with a stomp! Tag to Tyree! Double spear in the corner! Body splash! Enziguri! Miles with a blindside and Stetson hit a big boot for two! Double teaming on the linebacker of praise. Stetson with a spine buster for two. Tyree is ready for a Brooklyn zoo bomb but Hammer hits the apron. Stetson hits a low blow and north Jersey lariat. Tyree kicks out!!!! Miles sent in with a cannonball but no one’s home! Tag to Ichiban! Body attacks for everyone! One punches! Tornado ddt to stetson! Kick out! Ichiban wants the finish but Hammer taunts him with the mask he stole….Ichiban with a triangle dropkick. He gets the mask! Springboard…Miles takes Ichiban out of the air with a spear!!! Tyree breaks up the pin! Brooklyn Zoo bomb to Stetson! Ichiban up on his shoulders…splash to both members of the ranch! This should be it but Hammer stops the ref from making the count! The ref ejects Tunis as Stetson boots Ichiban! They got for a total elimination…Ichiban intercepts… Stetson sent flying..Miles eats a skull crushing finale combo with the ichi Bankai! The Church wins!!!!
