In the "small world department", PWInsider.com has confirmed with multiple sources that AEW TBS & NJPW Strong Women's Champion Mercedes Mone was seen this morning with Shane McMahon at Laguardia Airport in New York City. We are told that each were seen speaking on their way to their respective flights.
One source, when PWInsider.com reached out to confirm whether the story was true, confirmed that they did had a conversation about AEW. There had been rumors of Shane McMahon's alleged interest in AEW in recent weeks with AEW President Tony Khan noting he would be open to speaking with McMahon.
In asking around, we are told that McMahon, who lives in the NYC area, was not spotted backstage last night at the AEW Forbidden Door PPV.
No word whether Mone will discuss the surprise meeting in her Newsletter. Mone showed off a special bottle of tequila sent to her by George Clooney in honor of her NJPW title win last night during the post-Forbidden Door PPV media scrum.
