AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded Wednesday night at the  Keybank Center in Buffalo, NY right after Dynamite.  

Our commentary team is Excalibur and Nigel McGuinness.

Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii vs TMDK (Shane Haste and Robbie Eagles)

We are in full on Forbidden Door mode as Cassidy is the only person in this match not from NJPW.

Cassidy and Haste and Cassidy move to running the ropes quickly, and Cassidy can’t knock him down with a shoulder tackle, but Haste can’t do it either. Cassidy shows the collision hurt him and Cassidy tags in Ishii. Ishii and Haste charge at each other repeatedly, and Cassidy distracts Haste and gets a shoulder tackle, followed by one from Ishii. Ishii and Cassidy get a double shoulder tackle on Haste. Ishii lays in chops and tags in Cassidy.

Cassidy goes to the top and Eagles tags in. Cassidy comes down to meet him in the middle of the ring. Eagles picks the leg. They run the ropes and Eagles gets a tejaris. Cassidy and Eagles trade arm drags until Cassidy raises an arm to escape it.  Cassidy gets a flying mare into a crucifix for two. Cassidy is whipped to the corner, where he goes up and over and then slams Eagles into the top turnbuckle repeatedly. 

Eagles distract the ref so that Haste can slam Cassidy into the apron. Eagles dives onto Cassidy and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, TMDK are putting the boots to Cassidy. Cassidy is able to shove them into each other. Cassidy crawls toward his corner, and Haste grabs his feet. Cassidy is able to roll over and kick him off, knocking him into Eagles. Cassidy gets the tag to Ishii, who cleans house. Ishii tosses Haste into the corner. Cassidy hits weak chops and Ishii hits his normal blows. 

Cassidy’s chops get harder. Eagles tries to break it up and get tossed aside. Cassidy gets an elbow drop front he top for two. Cassidy calls for the Orange Punch. He misses and Haste gets a Falcon Arrow, and goes for the tag. Eagles tags in and lays into Cassidy with kicks. Cassidy reverses a pickup in Stundog Millionaire. Cassidy goes for the spinning DDT and Eagles turns it into a backpack slam for two, broken up by Ishii. Haste gets in the ring and Ishii takes him out. 

Eagles lays in kicks to the back of Cassidy’s leg. Cassidy is able to get the surprise Beach Break for the pin and the win.

Winners:  Orange Cassidy and Tomohiro Ishii

We get a mysterious video of Hangman Adam Page.

Stephanie Vaquer (NJPW Women’s Champion) vs Lady Frost

Mercedes Mone comes to watch the match at ringside. 

Vaquer takes down Frost with a waistlock, and they move to arm bars. Vaquer is abel to get a STF on Frosty and Frost crawls to the ropes for th ebreak. Vaquer whips Frost intot he roeps and Frost dumps her up and over when she charges in. They move to fighting onthe floor and Frost gets an arm drag off the steel steps. Vaquer whips Frost toward the ring and Frost goes up into a headstand. Vaquer gives Frost a kick to the head and goes face to face with Mone as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Vaquer getsd a head scissors and drives her head repeatedly into the mat. Vaquer goes for a package pile driver, but Frost goes up and over with a lariat. She hits a roundhouse kick and a charge into the cortner. She follows with a handspring cannonball. She goes to the top and Hits a tornado cross body for two. Vaquer gets a jaw breaker and a thrust kick. She follows with a DDT and a roll up for two. She then hits a running forearm in the corner.  Frost is able to kick Vaquer away and follows with a drop kick to the back. Vaquer is able to dodge a charge into the corner and gets a series of head butts. She then hits a dragon screw in the ropes. 

Vaquer gets a small package shoulder breaker for the pin and the win. 

Winner:  Stephanie Vaquer

Mone gets in the ring amnd raises the TNT title belt. They have words and Vaquer leaves the ring, allowing Zeuxis to attack Mone from behind. Mone is able to get a back stabber, but Vaqeur re-enters the ring and gets a thrust kick followed by a package shoulder breaker. 

We are told by Alex Abrahantes has a big announcement and they are interrupted by Titan and Hiromu Takahashi. Alex says that the big announcement is that they will be in a trios match with Los Ingobernables de Japon and their partner will be Mistico. 

Serena Deeb vs the Already in the ring Kelly Madan

Deeb works over Madan in the corner and then gets a necdkbreaker across the second rope from the apron. Deeb gets a hammerlock lariat and hits the detox for the pin and the win.

Winner: Serena Deeb

Deeb grabs a mic and says that she fell short in the tournament, but she refuses to be put into wrestling purgatory. She asks for someone on her level, and this brings out Riho in street clothes. She comes to the ring and they have words. Deeb rolls out of the ring and Riho shows by hand gestures she is ready any time and any place. 

We then see Chris Jericho outside the bathroom,  reminding someone to wash their hands because germs spread easily this time of year. 

We see Chris Jericho, Large William and Bryan Keith, who explains what a zamboni is. Jericho opens the door to the room for the people who run the zamboni so he can give them some tips.  Instead, they are ambushed by Samoa Joe, Hook and Shibata. Jericho’s team tries to escape into the ringside area, but the fight continues. Jericho, Keith, and William are thrown into the ring where Joe’s team keeps up the beating. 

Jeff Cobb shows and attacks Hook from behind. He then takes out Shibata. Joe and Cobb stand face to face and then throw hands. Cobb gets a spinebuster on Joe. Looks like Cobb is Jericho’s 4th man. 

Hechicero vs The Already In The Ring Kevin Blackwood

Hechicero works over Blackwood’s legs, beats him up in the corner, and then follows with the hammer and elbow strikes. Hechicero gets a Mad Scientist bomb and follows with a modified Rings of Saturn for Blackwood to tap out.

Winner: Hechicero

In the back, Lexi Nair is with The Patriarchy and he says his eyes are on the Trios championships. He is interrupted by the Bang Bang Gang, and Jay White asks if he has apologized to his Family for saying ”I Quit.” He says Cage wants to ride the coattails of the bang Bang Gang. 

Daniel Garcia vs Butcher

Matt Menard joins commentary.

They lock up collar and elbow and Butcher shoves Garcia into the corner. They lock up again and Butcher walks them itnot eh corner. They lock up a third time and Butcher drives them to t he corner again, but Garcia forces them out. Butcher tosses Garcia into the corner and stomps him down. Garcia is able to get a series of kicks and then drop kicks Butcher’s knee. They run the ropes and Butcher hits a cross body and tosses Garcia to the floor. 

Butcher joins Garcia on the floor and drives him into the barricade.  Garcia gets a series of elbows and then gets a running shotgun drop kick on Butcher. He tries a second, but Butcher catches him and suplexes Garcia into the barricade as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Butcher tries to pull Garcia to his feet and Garcia drops to the mat. Garcia gets to his feet and Butcher lays in huge slaps and a half nelson backbreaker for two. Garcia is whipped hard into the corner and Butcher follows with a charge. Garcia follows himn and goes face to face with Butcher. He comes off the ropes with boots and then gets a neck breaker. Garcia lays in foreaarms into Butcher in the corner.

Garcia gets ten on top, but Butcher carrys him out. Garcia tries clotheslines off the ropes, but Butcher gets a big boot; Butcher comes off the ropes into a clothelsine from Garcia and drops him. Garcia hits a pile driver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Daniel Garcia

Garcia and Butcher show respect for eachother as they are both from Buffalo.

In the back, Lexi is with Will Ospreay, and she asks if the match with Swerve Strickland has become personal.  Don Callis shows up with the Family and says he is ready to help. Swerve says he wants to do it by himself but he wants someone to watch his back during the weigh in. Don says Kyle can do it, and Kyle happily agrees. The other members of the Family do NOT look happy as Callis says everyone’s happy. The camera pulls back and Rush is now there. 

Lexi is in the back with Jack Perry, and she asks him about the six man tag team match which is all people inthe ladder match at Forbidden Door. Perry says he won’t be in the 6 man tag match. Christopher Daniels says if he doesn’t wrestle in the tag matchy tonight, he will be taken out of the ladder match. 

Hikaru Shida vs Deonna Purrazzo in an Owen Hart tournament match

They lock up collar and elbow, and break apart quickly. They lock up again and move to arm bars. Purrazzo gets a side headlock takeover and Shida quickly escapes. They go back to arm bars and Shida grabs a side headlock and Purrazzo backs Shida into the ropes. Purrazzo gets in a chop after breaking. They run the ropes and neither goes down. They throw hands in the middle of the ring. Shida gets an insigiri and follows with ten in the corner.

Shida tosses Purrazzo from the ring and gets a diving crossbody from the second rope to the floor. She puts Purrazzo on the apron, and lays in blows. Purrazzo avoids the runnign knee lift and Purrazzo gets a pump kick as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Shida lays in blows, catches a kick from Purrazzo, and then just pummels Purrazzo to the mat. Shida gets a short arm clothesline and whilps Purrazzo into the ropes. Purrazzo tries for a kick, but Shida hits a pair of running knee lifts for two. Shida pulls Purrazzo up and Purrazzo gets a Russian leg sweep. Shida swings at Purrazzo, and Purrazzo grabs the arm into a Fujiwara arm bar. Shida gets to the rope for a break. 

Shida gets a kick to Purrazzo from climbing the ropes. Shida gets a Falcon Arrow and goes for the pin, but Purrazzo reverses it for two. Shida reverses for two and then hits the Katana kick for the pin and the win.

Winner and going on in the tournament: Hiakru Shida

Purrazzo attacks after the match and grabs Shida’s Kendo stick. Thunder Rosa runs to the ring for the save and Purrazzo bails. I love that they are keeping this feud going.

We then get a video from Jeff Jarrett about how much the Owen Hart Tournement means to him. 

Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, and Lio Rush vs Konosuke Takeshita, El Phantasmo, and Jack Perry

Don Callis joins commentary.

El Phantasmo goes by ELP, even though he does not use music by Emerson Lake and Palmer for his entrance. 

Rush and Perry start off the match, but Perry tags in Takeshita immediately. Rush gets a quick kick and leaps in Takeshita’s arms. Takeshita tries to slam Rush, but Rush is able to roll Takeshite up for two. Takeshita gets a big boot and drops Rush. Takeshita tags in ELP by slapping him hard in the chest. Rush gets an arm drag. 

Rush tags in Dante, who tags in Briscoe, and each then hits a clothesline in the corner on ELP and Briscoe covers for two. Rush tags back in and he gets a suplex for two. ELP tries to get a tag, but Rush holds him back, and Dante tags in. ELP and Rush work over ELP with quick tags. ELP makes it to his corner, and Perry drops off the apron instead of taking the tag as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Dante has been the babyface in peril through the break, but Takeshita and ELP don’t get along. Dante gets a hurricanrana on both of them and leaps for a tag to Briscoe, who cleans house. When Briscoe goes for the cover on ELP, Perry breaks it up.

ELP gets a super kick and Rush tags in as Briscoe is knocked into his corner. Rush dives onto Takeshita, and this leads to a series of dives by everyone but Perry. Rush gets a frog splash on ELP, Dante, who has been tagged in, hits one right after as Perry breaks up a pin. Perry escapes the ring and Briscoe misses a dive onto him on the floor. ELP gets a Manhattan drop on Dante, and then whips Rush into Dante.

Takeshita is tagged in, and he clotheslines Dante, and when Rush tries to escape, he grabs him and gets a high release German suplex. Takeshita suplexes dante, who lands on his feet. Takeshita goes to the top, and Dante gets a hurricanrana after an unsuccessful first try. Dante goes to the top and Perry shoves him off.  Dante gets a big kick on Perry and then leaps into Blue Thunder Bomb from Takeshita. Takeshita hits Dante with a big knee for the pin and the win.

Winners:  Konosuke Takeshita, El Phantasmo, and Jack Perry

Perry wipes out Takeshita with the TNT title belt. We then get each person taking out the last person. As Dante and Rush are hahing a tug of war over the title, Nriscoe takes them both out with a ladder. Briscoe sets up the ladder and leaps onto everyone at ringside.

Prince Nana welcomes us to the official weigh in for the Main Event at Forbidden Door. Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher are brought out, and Will gets on the scale and his official weight is 220 pounds. Next is Swerve Stricklande, who comes out with an entourage of Hip Hop performers. Swerve weighs in at 230 pounds.

Nana has them pose for official photos. 

Nana asks if Will has any final words. Will says Sweerve has 24 hours before he knocks the grill out of his mouth and he is on another level. Swerve’s final words are that the pressure is all on Will, he’s the champion and he handles his business right. He says he will offer his wife a contract, and Will attacks Swerve. They are pulled apart, and Swerve hits a hidden blade and is standing over Swerve holding both belts as we are out of time.
