ROH Review Episode 68: Woman Own Thursday Nights

After a two-week hiatus, we are finally back with another ROH review. Last night on Dynamite we had more ROH Champions show up compared to the weekly TV show, but who am I? That said, let’s review this week's ROH episode!

ROH Women’s TV Championship Proving Grounds Match: Billie Starkz vs Sandra Moone:

A squash match, are we surprised?

Winner: “And Still” Billie Starkz

Jacoby Watts and Nick Comoroto vs Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty and Shane Taylor):

I still do not know what to think of the Comoroto and Watts tag team, I feel like Comoroto if booked correctly can be a huge monster in ROH. At the beginning of the match, Watts grabbed a microphone and praised his followers instead of focusing on the match at hand. Unfortunately, STP is too powerful in ROH right now and they were able to get the win. Moriarty stole Watt’s cowboy hat and started dancing with it to celebrate their win!

Winners:  Shane Taylor Promotions (Lee Moriarty and Shane Taylor)

Taya Valkyrie and Johnny TV Promo:

Valkyrie says that even though she has respected everyone she has wrestled since signing with AEW there is one person that is getting under her skin and that is Queen Aminata. She says

she is a fake queen when she has earned the title of Queen. She tells Aminata to watch her back or she is going to wipe that smile off of her face.

Red Velvet vs Viva Van:

With all of the appearances, Van has made over the last month, I would not be surprised if she is signed with AEW/ROH by the end of 2024. She was very impressive throughout the match and she brought it to Velvet. Velvet got the win as she continued her momentum as she looked towards a match with Starkz as she celebrated with Van at the end of the match. She also called out Starkz saying she is coming for her championship.

Winner: Red Velvet

Four Corner Survival Trios Match: Lance Archer and The Righteous (Dutch and Vincent) vs Action Andretti and Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin) vs Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds) vs The Infantry (Carlie Bravo and Shawn Dean) and Dalton Castle:

This is a chaotic match. Matches that always have more than six people are chaotic and could get messy quickly, which is why they are not usually for me. This match was what it needed to be. Everyone was able to get their spots in and the crowd enjoyed it. Now can the ROH Six Man Champions come to ROH to defend against the team that won this match?

Winners: Action Andretti and Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin)

Alex Windsor, Marina Shafir, and Diamante vs Leyla Hirsch, Abadon, and Lady Frost:

This was a fun six-women’s tag match. Like Van, Windsor is another talent who has been featured a lot in the last couple of weeks on AEW/ROH, which may eventually lead to her getting signed, especially since she got the win for her team! She pinned Diamante which was a little shocking given how dominant she has been on ROH over the last couple of months, but if this leads to a feud that would be great!

Winners: Alex Windsor, Marina Shafir, and Diamante

Harley Cameron vs Trish Adora:

I will give Cameron credit, over the last couple of weeks she has proven herself every week on Dynamite, but she should not have won this match. Adora is one of the best wrestlers in the ROH Women’s locker room and, it is weird that she is not trying to get into the ROH Women’s TV Title picture. This match was nothing special as Cameron got the win. Wonder if this means we get Saraya on ROH soon.

Winner: Harley Cameron

ROH Tag Team Championship Proving Grounds Match: Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs Bad Dude Tito and Che Cabrera

The good thing about Forbidden Door season is that we get New Japan talent on multiple AEW shows, including ROH. Also Daddy Magic was on commentary for this match and he was wonderful. Although this match was short as it was only around five minutes, this was a fun main event. This was the match the crowd was most into as Cabrera and Tito showed out throughout the match. The tag champs retain to end this week's episode of ROH.

Overall:

I say this almost every week, but nothing of importance happened in this episode. A bunch of random matches to get us through an hour of TV. We only got two champions on our show, but we were able to see 18 different women on this enjoyable show. Oh well, until next week!
