WOW - Women of Wrestling - Season 4 Episode 38

Yes, I am back to cover wrestling for the site. Thank you to everyone for your notes and thoughts.
A few notes on WOW:
-A number of talents have stepped away from the company or have not been called back for the next taping. For some of the talent that has stated they have left, WOW is taped far in advance, so while people like Vickie Lynn McCoy have left, they will still be on upcoming shows.
-The next taping will be in August which means the show has been renewed for a third season in my opinion.
-Selena Majors (who was Bambi in WOW and wrestled in the AWA and other companies) is listed in the credits as creative director and her LinkedIn states she is the booker and head trainer. I mention this because there are people wondering if there was a new booker put in charge.
We get a recap of last week’s contract signing between the Beast and Abilene Maverick for Maverick’s WOW’s Women’s Title.
Penelope Pink w/Vickie Lynn McCoy and Lana Starr vs Sierra Breeze
Lana Starr grabs the mic before the match to put herself and her team over.
Sierra Breeze is a new wrestler, and is Alexis Grey, who was in the WWE developmental system. She was released last year and this is her first WOW appearance.
They lock up and Breeze gets out of a side headlock and gets a snap mare. Pink grabs another side headlock and Breeze shoots her into the ropes, but Pink hits a shoulder tackle. Breeze goes up and over a charge in the corner, and Breeze hits a pump kick for two. Breeze misses with knees in the corner, and Pink doesn’t as she connects on Breeze. As the ref is distracted by Pink, Starr works over Breeze in the ropes.
Pink gets a back suplex. Pink whips Breeze in the ropes and Breeze comes off with a crucifix pin for two. Breeze gets a series of kicks with a step up insigiri before a splash in the corner. She kicks Pink in the back of the head and comes off the top for a cross body for two. Pink is able to get an inverted DDT for the pin and the win.
Winner: Penelope Pink
We are next shown from after last week’s show where Sophia Lopez (who recently turned babyface) thanking the fans and crew for supporting her as she found out she had breast cancer last year. She has Jungle Grrll join her in the ring and talks about Jungle Grrl’s Cancer foundation:

Keta Rush and the Mighty Mites (Spice and Sugar) vs The Brat Pack (BK Rhythm, Gigi Gianni, and Lil J-Boogie)
BK and Rush start off and trade arm bars and waistlocks. Ruck takes BK down and uses her feet to twist BK into a two count. Rush drop kicks BK into the corner, and Spice tags in to do the same. Sugar tags in and picks the keg, does a splash and covers for two. Sugar gets a spinning DDT from the ropes. Sugar gets a jack knife cover for two.
Spice is tagged in and they double-team BK for a two count. BK is able to get a German suplex, and tags in Gigi, and she keeps Spice in their corner and doesn't allow her to get to her corner. Gigi gets a series of two counts. Boogie is tagged in and keeps up the two counts on Spice. Gigi is tagged in and Spice gets a jawbreaker so she can tag in Rush.
Rush runs wild. BK and Gigi attack the Mites on the floor. Keta gets a cross body off the top rope springboard onto Boogie for the pin and the win.
Winners: Keta Rush and The Mighty Mites
After the match, BK nails Boogie with her boombox. Before they can do anymore, Stephy Slays hits the ring to run off BK and Gigi.
David comes to the ring to interview Boogie. Stephy says she is sick of people turning on their teammates. She says Boogie deserves a strong tag team partner and a true friend.
In the back, Abilene Maverick gives Jessie Jones a bottle of bourbon and asks if she will be at the championship match later tonight. Santana Garrett and Americana were shown in the background, watching.
We then see that Maverick was waiting for someone to show before coming out, but they have now shown up.
Abilene Maverick (WOW Champion) vs The Beast
Maverick leaps onto Beast’s back and tries for a choke, but Beast pulls her over into a slam. Beast hits a series of clotheslines, and follows with shoulders to the midsection in the corner. Beast charges at Maverick, and Maverick dodges, causing Beast to run her shoulder into the ringpost from the inside of the ring. Beast drops to the floor and Maverick slams her arm into the ringpost. She slams Beast’s head into the apron. She then slams Beast’s back into the apron.
Maverick keeps up the attack on the floor. Beast is able to slam Maverick’s head into the apron. Beast lays in forearms and then rolls into the ring. Maverick breaks the count and Beast follows her to the floor. Maverick runs Beast’s shoulder into the ring steps. Maverick rolls into the ring, and Beast slowly follows. Maverick drops knees on Beast’s midsection for two. Maverick whips Beast into the corner and works her over there. Beast is able to lift Maverick and slams her for the pin and the win.
