If you’re Vince McMahon it’s time to find a country that won’t extradite him back to the USA and hop on a plane and never come back, right?
If I am Vince? At his age? Absolutely I would but the flip side is I would never be in the situation that he is in. Suffice it to say, Vince and I are very different people. So my guess is that he will stay true to what he has always done and will fight with everything he has. That’s who he is.
What/when do you think the pay off for this “new elite” story line will be?
I have no idea and frankly, I couldn’t care less. I just wish it would end because I have zero interest in it. The Bucks and Jungle Jack do nothing for me.
Any update on Natalya contract?
As of two days ago, nope.
Hate to admit it at my age but I legitimately got goosebumps when Jordynne Grace walked out on NXT. How quickly before Tony Khan says WWE is copying him in bringing wrestlers from other companies?
Man, I just hope that he doesn't comment at all. There's nothing positive that will come out of that.
Hey Dave, do you think Tony Khan understands what works in wrestling? AEW had a strong start, but now it feels like it's just indie wrestling that appeals to a small group of fans. The way he books matches is unbelievable, and it seems like nothing can hurt these super wrestlers. My wife, who's not a regular fan, was really into the Cody vs. Roman match at WrestleMania because of the story and emotional connection. Why doesn't Tony understand that? Do you think he'll ever change?
It’s so frustrating to me. Tony grew up a fan, he followed the promotions where the booking made sense. As you said, AEW used to be good. In fact, there was a period where it was my favorite show to watch every week. Then? It devolved into exactly what you said, an indy where things mostly make no sense and aren’t eve remotely realistic. Maybe he ran out of ideas. I can’t say. But now, Tony is marketing to a small subset of the overall fan base. The only thing that makes sense to me is that he is doing it because it’s what he likes to watch. It’s his money, he can do what he wants.
