Hollywood star Paul Walter Hauser was interviewed about competing in Major League Wrestling's Battle Riot VI live in Atlanta tomorrow by The Atlanta Journal Constitution at this link. Hauser noted that he visited a show with Diamond Dallas Page and asked to take a bump in the ring. “I felt the ring and something magical happened where the sound of the ring I’ve heard my entire life coalesced with me being in the ring” he said. “In that moment I said, ‘I’m going to do this’.”
Hauser told AJC he feels more at home at wrestling events vs. red carpets, commenting, "I have merch and I’m traveling to different cities to wrestle. I would equate it to high school theater and high school sports. It has the competitive unpredictable nature of sports by being a bit of team sports in theater. I really love it and meet people at these smaller venues.”
MLW Battle Riot VI, streaming live on the promotion's YouTube channel from Center Stage will feature Hauser, Jimmy Yang, Alex Kane, Sami Callihan, Matt Riddle, Místico, Bobby Fish, Ernest “The Cat” Miller, Matthew Justice, Timothy Thatcher, Davey Boy Smith Jr., MLW National Openweight Champion Bad Dude Tito, Mads Krule Krugger, AJ Francis, 1 Called Manders, AKIRA, Mr. Thomas, Brett Ryan Gosselin, Jake Crist, Ikuro Kwon, Josh Bishop and more competing.
The Battle Riot bout, featuring Rumble like entrances, is a come as you are Battle Royal with the winner earning a future MLW Championship match. Previous winners have been Tom Lawlor, LA Park, Alexander Hammerstone, Jacob Fatu, and Alex Kane.
Also announced for 6/1's live broadcast is MLW Champion Satoshi Kojima vs. Tom Lawlor, MLW Middleweight Champion Mistico vs. Star Jr. and Ritual Combat match featuring AJ Francis vs. Alex Kane.
Major League Wrestling will be honoring legendary promoter Gary Juster with a Lifetime Achievement Award live as part of Battle Riot VI as well. The location is perfect as Juster was the promoter for World Championship Wrestling for many years as well as holding the post of Ring of Honor Director of Operations during the Sinclair Broadcast Group era. Juster began promoting events for Verne Gagne many years ago in the Mid-West and promoted everything from the legendary NWA Great American Bash '89 - Glory Days PPV to lucha libre events. He's been a constant in pro wrestling for decades. It's a really nice and well deserved honor. There is no word yet whether this will air live on the broadcast.
