PWInsiderElite.com sat down with WWE's Drew McIntyre for a deep dive conversation earlier this week. The 35-minute discussion touched upon a number of topics, including:
His Memoir A Chosen Destiny: My Story and whether he'd like to do a sequel:
"I'd like to wait a long longer, but yeah, for sure. I'm very proud I got to put the story down. It was more for me like an opportunity to, you know, tell my mom's story than anything, just how much she'd overcome with disability, having me and my brother and navigating a very rare, genetic disorder until eventually, cancer is what got her, like I was just very excited. I could just tell her story more than anything else as well as my own story.
When my wife and I were living in our first apartment, I remember watching a Sylvester Stallone documentary of some kind or a piece on him and she was in the kitchen and we were looking at, you know, our first kind of house together. And the one we loved was a little bit out of our primary price range at the time and he told the story about you know, wanting to make Rocky but he had to play the title role and they offered him a bunch of money and ended up selling his dog, you know, the self belief and himself he was going to make it.
I told her, she was on the phone and I was like, do it, we're getting that house. It's going to work out and I'm going to write my book upstairs. That was an area that was perfect for doing some work and writing. So I'm gonna write my book right there. Turns out I wrote the book about five feet in the office. It all kind of worked out. And again, it was that self belief and just knowing you know, if I give everything I've got, it's worked up to this point. It's going to work. Let's get a house. I'm going to write that book and both ended up materializing."
