Copeland, 50, suffered the injury coming off the top of a barbed wire steel cage at AEW's Double or Nothing. He referred to himself as "getting cocky" and that his brain forgot what his body knows, which is his age.
As PWInsider.com noted earlier today, the rumor among WWE talents at Raw was that Copeland had broken his leg. Unfortunately, that is correct. Copeland said he doesn't know the timing of when he will be getting surgery yet and will learn that next week.
The typical timeline for such a surgery is 3 months of recovery before physical rehabilitation. There is no word how long the recovery could be before Copeland is cleared to return to the ring.
PWInsider.com wishes Copeland a quick and painless recovery.
