Lexi is backstage with The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn. Gunn says that everything is going wild and abusing their authority, and that is right up his aisle. Max Caster talks about his song and says it is all about them returning to tag team action. He then talks about how Anthony Bowens will take down Brian Cage. Bowens says they are the foundation of AEW and he will roll through Cage tonight.
No lie, this was their best promo in so long I can’t remember their last good one.
Rush vs Already in the ring Cody Chhun
The rest of Rush’s La Faccion Ingobernable is still MIA.
Well, Rush ends this in less than 30 seconds with the bull’s horns.
Winner: Rush
He starts to go up the ramp, but then, slowly he turns, step by step, inch by inch, he returns to the ring and beats down Chhun outside the ring.
Lexi goes to FTR’s locker room to check on them. Bryan Danielson comes out and says FTR won’t be able to make it to Dynamite this week. Bryan says the Elite won’t show on Saturday but he will be a Dynamite, and they can take their shot, But if they miss, they won’t like the consequences.
Deonna Purrazzo vs Robyn Renegade
Purrazzo gets an arm bar to take down Robyn. They reset and go for waistlocks. Purrazzo picks the leg and then was able to roll up Robyn for two. Purrazzo gets another arm bar and keeps Robnbyn down. Purrazzo locks on Venus DeMilo after the bell, and Rosa runs to the ring to break it up. Purrazzo walks away and as Rosa is checking on Robyn, Purrazzo gets back in the ring and gets in a cheap shot. Rosa chases Purrazzo up the ramp and drags her back down and starts a beat down over her own. When Rosa rolls her into the ring, Purrazzo runs away as the ref holds Rosa back.
We get another promo for the return of Scorpio Sky. He says if a normal person was put in his position, they’d fail. He’s a star and he will reach down and pull up the fans. So it looks like he’s coming back as a conceited Motivational Speaker.
Lexi is with Sonjay Dutt, who dismisses her. Sonjay says that Satnam Sighn will be facing him on Dynamite as he tries to get the price on Bryan’s head.
It’s time for the main event:
Brian Cage vs Anthony Bowens w/Max Caster and Billy Gunn
Max raps on his way to the ring.
They lock up and Cage shoves Bowens back. They move to fighting in the corner after Bowens “hulks up”. They move to running the ropes and Bowens grabs one of Cage’s arms and uses it to drop him for two. Cage is able to get up and slams Bowens. He then lays in chops, dropping Bowens again. Cage whips him into the corner and then charges in with upper cuts and another slam on Bowens.
Cage lays in chops in the corner. Bowens is whipped across the ring, and dodges a splash, gets a dragon screw on Cage. Bowens then drop kicks Cage’s leg, knocking him to the floor. Cage tries for the drill claw, but Bowens slips out the pack and gets a pump kick for two. Bowens calls for the end and tries to lift Cage, but can’t. The ref gets caught in the corner. And both men stop before hitting him. Cage gets a back kick for a low blow and follows with the drill claw for the pin and the win.
