Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alsheikh spoke with Ariel Helwani of the MMA Hour about WWE potentially bringing a larger scale PPV event to that country, noting they are in discussions with WWE about The Kingdom hosting The Royal Rumble or WrestleMania in 2026 or 2027. Neither event has ever been held outside of North America. Alsheikh stated an enhancement to WWE's current deal with the Kingdom will be announced later this month, likely timed for the King and Queen of the Ring tournament event.
Variety featured an interview with the CW Network braintrust today about their new Fall season. When asked about NXT, CW head Dennis Miller noted, "We knew that Raw and SmackDown were a little bit beyond our budget here. Then if you look, we have a lot of sports where we have kind of that next tier moving into the first tier here, whether it’s the Xfinity races leading into the Cup, or it’s NXT leading into Raw and SmackDown. So it just started to fit. Then over the course of a couple of months, we went back and forth and got the deal done."
Brad Schwartz, who is President of Entertainment for CW brought TNA to POP when he was heading that cable network.
