5/16/24 Results from New Japan's Best of the Super Junior 31 from Gunma, Japan:
1 - El Desperado, Boltin Oleg and Katsuya Murashima vs. Kevin Knight, Tiger Mask and Shoma Kato
Oleg pins Kato after a Kamikaze Slam.
2- Tomoaki Honma, and HAYATA vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Yujiro Takahashi
Yujiro hits Honma with his Pimp Stick, then hits Pimp Juice.
Yujiro pins Honma.
After the match, Kanemaru attacks HAYATA's left leg. They will face each other on Saturday.
3 - BUSHI, Titan and Tetsuya Naito vs. TJP, Blake Christian and Callum Newman
Naito pins Newman after a Destino.

4 - KUSHIDA vs. Francesco Akira
KUSHIDA worked on Akira's left arm. Good match. Akira hit Speedfire, but then missed a Fireball. KUSHIDA smashed Akira with a Shotei. They exchanged strikes and kicks. Akira with a hiptoss into a powerslam. Two count. They fight to the top rope. KUSHIDA arm drags Akira off the top rope and quickly applied the Hoverboard Lock.
Akira taps out.
KUSHIDA remains unbeaten with 6 points.
Francesco Akira has 2 points.
5 - DOUKI vs. Drilla Moloney
Moloney hit a backbreaker on a chair early in the match which slowed DOUKI down. DOUKI went for the Italian Stretch No.32 and Moloney quickly went for the ropes. He escaped the ring holding his neck and selling the danger of DOUKI's finisher. DOUKI went for a Daybreak but Moloney caught him in a Spinebuster. Moloney with a double stomp and elbow drop. Two count. DOUKI connects with a Daybreak, but only a two count. DOUKI goes for Suplex de La Luna, but Moloney reverses out. They exchange counters. Moloney picks up DOUKI for a Drilla Killa but DOUKI counters into an arm drag and into Italian Stretch No. 32. Moloney powers out of the submission and hits the Drilla Killa.
Moloney pins DOUKI.
Drilla Moloney has 2 points.
DOUKI has 2 points.
6 - Ninja Mack vs. SHO
Ninja Mack's music plays. Out comes SHO with a dazed Ninja Mack. SHO is holding the mask he stole the night before. SHO puts Mack in the corner and the referee rings the bell. SHO hits a running lariat and applies a Boston Crab. Mack taps out. The referee awards to the match to SHO.
The real Ninja Mack comes running to the ring with tape around his ankles and arms, implying he was tied up in the back.
The referee restarts the match. Mack hammers SHO with chops and kicks. Mack hits flying press over the top rope to SHO on the floor. SHO hits Mack with a chair in the gut and back and tosses him into the crowd. SHO grabs him in a body scissors submission. SHO with a backbreaker. SHO puts Mack on the top rope and hits running knee strikes. Mack comes off the top rope with a kick. Mack with a German suplex. Two count. Mack applies a crossface submission but SHO gets to the ropes. SHO pushes the referee into Mack, then hits a spear on Mack. SHO pulls out his wrench.
The fake Ninja Mack comes back into the ring and SHO looks confused. The fake Ninja Mack cowers in the corner so SHO does not hit him with the wrench. The real Ninja Mack takes the wrench away and throws it out of the ring. SHO rolls up in a school boy. But the referee is still down. SHO gets angry at the referee. Mack tries to school boy SHO. Two count. Lots of near falls. Mack hits a superkick. Mack misses Phoenix Splash. SHO goes for his title belt. The referee tries to take it away. Mack grabs SHO's leg and SHO low blows him. SHO rolls up Mack and grabs his tights. The referee counts three. SHO wins. The camera was behind the referee and catches SHO clearly pulling the tights.
SHO has 4 points.
Ninja Mack has 4 points.
After the match, the fake Ninja Mack unmasked and it was a young lion who was abused by House of Torture. Ninja Mack helps him back to the ring.
I may be picking on details but the referee was in position to see SHO grabbing the tights and still made the count. This does not look good.
7- Hiromu Takahashi vs. Dragon Dia
Fast paced, high flying match. Dia matches up well with Hiromu. Hiromu hit a backbreaker and a powerbomb. Two count. Dia with a hip attack and a Dodon. Two count. Dia with a high kick. Dia hits End Over (A Fisherman Lift into a side powerslam). Two count. Hiromu blocks a Code Red and drops Dia into a pin. Dia kicks out. Hiromu with a German suplex and a lariat. Dia with a crucifix bomb. Two count. Hiromu blocks a 450 splash. HIromu hits Time Bomb 1.5. Two count. Hiromu hits another lariat and hits Time Bomb.
Hiromu pins Dia.
Hiromu Takahashi has 2 points.
Dragon Dia has 0 points.
8 - Robbie Eagles vs. Taiji Ishimori
Good match. Eagles and Ishimori know each other very well. Lots of counters and reversals. Eagles applied the Ron Miller Special. Ishimori would not give up. Ishimori counters out and hits The Bloody Cross.
Ishimori pins Eagles.
Taiji Ishimori remains undefeated with 6 points.
Robbie Eagles has 2 points.
