PLANNING AN OUTSTANDING WRESTLING VACATION

By Kendall Jenkins on 2024-05-14 07:07:00

For residents of the US, WWE and AEW events come around quite often. Yet for fans in other parts of the world, particularly in Europe and the Middle East, waiting for events and house shows to come around can seem like an eternity. Thus, when the time comes to see a major PPV event such as Wrestlemania or Summerslam, it becomes a holiday and a journey of a lifetime. Below, we detail how to plan the perfect wrestling-themed holiday.

Book in advance

As soon as a major wrestling event is announced in a city, prices will rocket around that date. From accommodation to restaurants, bookings will also fill up. Thus, you need to book well in advance. The closer to the date you leave it, the less choice you will have and the more expensive it will become.

This does not mean you should take the first options you encounter. Take your time to shop around and get the best prices. You may already have discounts saved up from loyalty cards and offers that can be applied to services such as hotels. These will help alleviate some of the costs.

At this point, you should also start to think about what you want to do when you are not watching wrestling. Many of the city's other sights and attractions will be open during your stay, and you should attempt to see some of the city the event is in. Websites such as https://www.hellotickets.com/ can help you find attractions and book them at great prices. It also has all prices listed, so you can use it to help plan your budget.

One of the most overlooked advanced bookings that needs to be made is travel to and from the event venue. Some areas can be a long way out of town, with poor public transport links. You may find local companies have shuttle buses or taxis available, but these will be booked if you leave it until the last minute.

Look for other wrestling events you may want to attend

When a wrestling PPV takes place in a city, there are often a host of other smaller events that take place. From independent associations putting on shows to meet and greet sessions with legends, you are sure to find something else to interest you. Wrestlemania weekend alone can become a huge party and often the additional attractions can be more fun than the main event itself.

Like anything else, many of these need to be booked in advance. Make sure you are only going to the ones you want to visit, as you can soon find your whole weekend taken away meeting legends and watching house shows. It can even cause wrestling fatigue, so ensure you do other activities as well.

Even if this is not the case, the city you are in may have some other wrestling-themed attractions. For example, if you are in places such as Florida you can go to places like Hogan’s Hangout. This has surreal Karaoke nights where you could end up watching former title holders singing their favorite eighties classics while you sip a cocktail.

Creating a budget

Finally, when it comes to a budget, split it into two sections. The first should be a budget for when you are at the event. Check prices in the arena itself and see how much food and drink will cost. You may be surprised at how expensive it can be. From here, decide how much you will need for the event and plan accordingly. Add to this any merchandise you wish to buy as most people will at least want a t-shirt to commemorate the event.

If you are visiting other wrestling attractions, then make sure you keep a merchandise budget for that. Wrestling fans are creatures of habit, and the most random piece of clothing or action figure can inspire lust in fans. By having a budget for these things, you can stop yourself from sending the credit card into a spiral and have money left for the big event.

The second budget should be one for the holiday itself. Set aside money for travel, accommodation, and food. After this, you should allow for your day-to-day activities. Make sure you know which ones you have paid for in advance and which need paying on the day. If you book at https://www.hellotickets.com/ they will allow you to pay in advance, which can be much easier as you don't have to carry so much money around. Remember to keep the money for the airport or trains when going to and from the venues.

Once you have the budget set and travel booked, you can sit back and enjoy your holiday. Watching a wrestling PPV can be a major life event and you are guaranteed to see history in the making.
