PWInsider.com reported earlier this month that there was a trademark filing for Maple Leaf Wrestling, with the filing listed as the same corporate address where former TNA President Scott D'Amore's Border City Wrestling promotion is headquartered.
On 5/6, Maple Leaf Wrestling itself filed for a trademark on the name "Grand Prix Wrestling" for goods and services in the realms of "Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Entertainment services, namely, televised appearances by a professional wrestler and sports entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes."
Grand Prix Wrestling was the name of the pro wrestlinng company promotion operated by the late Emile Duprée for many decades in Canada. It was also the name used for Paul "Butcher" Vachon's promotion in Montreal.
D'Amore was let go by Anthem Media as President back in February.
Attempts to reach D'Amore were unsuccessful.
