AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

It is Saturday and this week’s Rampage is LIVE on a Saturday at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria IL. 

The commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuinness

Mox gives a promo and says he’s fine with the IWGP Title on the line on Dynamite. He says it would be a fairy tale if Hobbs wins, but if he will be in the ring with Hobbs. And if Hobbs hasn’t found the thing inside him to lead him to winning, Mox will show him who he really is. He tells Hobbs not to hesitate for a second because he won’t.

Rob Van Dam vs Isiah Kassidy vs Lee Johnson vs Komander - A High Fliers Elimination match

Rob gets a chant when the bell rings. Rob dodges the lock up from the others. Komander and Johnson drop kick Kassidy as he tries to get them to team up. Rob sits on the top turnbuckle and watches as Komander and Johnson go at it. Kassidy tries to join in and Rob hits him with a flying kick. Johnson and Kassidy go to the floor and R9ob faces off with Komander, but Kassidy gets a back stabber on Rob.

Rob dodges a leg drop and Rob works Kassidy over in the corner and hits a monkey flip followed by rolling thunder for two. Johnson gets into the ring and he tosses Rob out as Kassidy rolls to the floor as well. Komander is dropped over the top and Johnson dives onto all three. Kassidy  and Johnson roll to the ring and Kassidy gets a rollup for a big handful of tights for the pin.

Eliminated: Lee Johnson

When we come back from a picture in picture break, Kassidy has been working over Komander and keeping Rob on the floor. Komander elevates Kassidy to the floor and Rob rolls into the ring. Kaomnder gets a low drop kick and then hits a running forearm in the corner. Komander then hits a leaping moonsault from the top onto Kassidy on the floor. Rob joins him on the floor and Komander gets a hurricanrana on Rob and hits a leaping senton from the apron onto Kassidy for two. 

Komander goes to the top and as he walks the rope, Kassidy hits the ropes to knock him off. Rob gets in the ring and Kassidy says they should team up. Kassidy says he has something for Rob and can’t find it. Rob isn’t paying attention and Kassidy gets a quick roll up for two. Rob gets a foot up in the corner when Kassidy changes in and then sends Komander up and onto the apron to take a kick to the floor. 

Rob tries to go to the top by Marq Quen pulls him down and Komander gets in the ring and comes off the rope with a swanton and pins Kassidy for three.

Eliminated: Isaiah Kassidy

Rob gets in the ring and he tells Komander to bring it. Rob gets a quick rollup for two. Rob lays in kicks and Komander is able to get a rollup, but Rob rolls through. Komander gets a crucifix rollup for two. Rob gets a Northern Lights Suplex and holds on for two. Komander gets an insigiri and both men are down. Komnder goes to the top and Rob meets him there. Komander escapes the avalanche suplex.

Rob gets a back kick from the top and goes up for the five star frog splash for the pin and the win.

Winner: Rob Van Dam

Rob helps Komander up and they raise each other’s hands. 

Yuka Sakazaki vs Emi Sakura

Sakura attacks immediately with kicks and goes for a two count, then hits a double underhook for two. Sakura lays in chops and Yuka screams in Sakura’s ears and hits a sliding lariat for two. Yuka locks on a STF and has to let go when Sakura bites her hand. Yuka lays in kicks and strikes and goes to the top, but falls to the floor hitting the apron.. Sakura taunts the fans by saying she will throw things to them, but then says she won’t. 

Yuka is given time to recover since the fall does not seem to be planned, and it looks like she hurt her knee. Yuka is able to get a tejaris from the apron as we go picture in picture. When we return to full screen, Tuka and Sakura trade blows and Yuka gets a scoop slam on Sakura. Yuka starts to climb the ropes but Sakura knocks her to the floor. Sakura gets a dive into the Yuka in the steel steps. They return to the ring and Sakura gets a double underhook backbreaker for two.

Sakura goes to the top and Yuka is able to get a rising kick and blows. She gets a fallaway slam using the ropes for the pin and the win.

Winner: Yuka Sakazaki

If Yuka did hurt her knee, I wish they would have ended the match sooner, since nothing would have changed if they ended it before the commercial break.

We have footage of Angelo Parker in the ring to tell people he says he had to walk away from the Jericho Appreciation society, but found the love of his life. He says because of his action, he lost that too. He says he doesn’t have much left to fight for and starts to say he is retiring, but Ruby Soho’s music hits.

Ruby hits the ring and says she can’t let him do this, and says Parker has something important to fight for. She says she is expecting. He grabs Ruby and kisses her.

It’s time for our main event!

Kyle O’Reilly, Rocky Romero and Matt Menard vs Roderick Strong, Matt Taven and Mike Bennett

Kyle calls for Roddy to get in the ring and he does. Roddy dodges the lock up and tags in Bennett, so does lock up with Kyle. They run the ropes and Bennett gets a shoulder tackle. Kyle gets an arm drag and holds on, bringing Bennett to his corner for Menard to tag in and keep the arm bar. Bennett is able to escape and tags in Taven, and Menard gets an arm drag and pulls Taven over and tags in Romero and dodges a kick and hits a tejaris on Taven. 

Romero gets the forever clotheslines and Bennett gets in the ring to cut him off. He slaps Bennett silly and tries a tejaris, but Bennett is able to stop him and gets a slam. Roddy is tagged in and Romero is worked over in the corner with quick tags as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Romero has been beaten down by Roddy’s team. Romero is able to get a spin kick but is taken back down. Romero gets a back elbow out of the corner and is able to get a double hurricanrana on Taven and Bennett and tags in Menard, show cleans house. Menard gets a Boston Crab on Bennett, but Taven hits a springboard kick to break it up. Taven gets a springboard back flip, but Menard captures him for two. Menard tags in Kyle who runs wild.

Kyle takes everyone down with big kicks and Roddy with a dragon screw in the ropes. Kyle gets an arm bar into a triangle. Taven tries to break it up and Kyle is able to capture him as well until Roddy breaks it up. Roddy and Kyle throw hands in the middle of the ring and Kyle starts throwing kicks as well. Roddy grabs the leg and hits a backbreaker on Kyle.

Roddy is slow to cover and Roddy is tagged by Bennett. Roddy was in a leg bar after Kyle caught him and had tapped out, but Bennett had been tagged. Bennett breaks it up. Romero comes into the ring to fight Bennett off and then Romero dives onto Taven on the floor. Kyle gets the rebound clothesline and a brain buster for two. He then locks in the arm breaker and Bennett taps out.

Winners: Kyle O’Reilly, Rocky Romero and Matt Menard
