AEW COLLISION REPORT

It is Saturday and AEW Collision is live from the Truist Arena in Highland Heights, KY. 

Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone and Matt Menard. Nigel McGuinness is on assignment.

We are given an update that Jon Moxley is now the IWGP World Champion.

We get words from Bryna Danielson and Claudio Castagnoli who talk about their upcoming matches. They also say that Don Callis says that his family should hurt them, but beating them is easier than hurting them. Callus must be scared for Will Ospreay if that is what they want to do.l Hurting them is not going to fly tonight because the Blackpool Combat Club always comes to the ring to hurt people. 

House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, and Buddy Matthews) vs Dante Martin, Matt Sydal, and Action Andretti

We are told that Darius Martin is getting his pilot’s license today.

Andretti and Matthews start off and move quickly to arm bars. They twist and flip out of each other’s arm bars to reverse the hold. Matthews grabs a side headlock takeover. Andretti escapes with a head scissors and tags in Syadal. Sydal grabs a two count and Matthews tags in Black, and they trade kicks with Stdal getting leaping kicks. Dante tags in and gets a swanton pinto Black for two. 

Andretti and Martin try for double team moves, and Black takes them down. Andretti is tagged in and then King is tagged in and he is able to take down all three members of the other team with clotheslines. Andretti leaps onto King.  King forces him into a cazadora where Black gets in a kick. King then leaps onto all three members of the other team on the floor. Andretti is rolled into the ring and Matthews tags in and hits a running pump kick on him for two.

Andretti is able to escape from Matthews, and Sydal is tagged in and he runs wild with high flying kicks on House of Black until Matthews catches him and tosses him into Black’s knees for a two man backstabber and we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Sydal is the babyface in peril, unable to tag out. Sydal is finally able to tag Martin in, and he runs wild with leaps and kicks. Black cuts him off with a kick to the side of the head, and he tags in Andretti. After Andretti leaps onto Matthews, Black hits a moonsault from the top onto the floor. Black rolls up into the ring and tags in Black. Andretti’s team saves him from Dante's inferno and all six men are fighting in the ring. 

Dante breaks up a two count on Andretti with a leap from the top and all six men are down. Dante’s team recovers first and they work on King. King catches Sydal mid-leap and tosses him into the corner. The House of Black hit a three man change into the corner and covered Sydal for the pin and the win.

Winners: House of Black

In the back, Lexi Nail is with Toni Storm, Mariah May, and Luthor. Lexi asks about the kiss between AZM, and she says she will beat AZM, and says she will be chin up, t**s out and to watch for the shoe.

We get video from after Dynamite where Chris Jericho asks Taz to call him back.  Taz says he will try, but Hook is his own man.

Lee Moriarty w/Shane Taylor and Anthony Ogogo vs Katsuyori Shibata. 

Ogogo joins commentary.

They lock up and quickly go to mat wrestling. Shibata gets a prelim arm bar and Moriarty gets to the ropes for the break. Moriarty gets a snap mare and follows up with mat grappling. Shibata is able to reverse it and keeps Moriarty down. They work to their feet and Shibata takes him down again and works on Moriarty’s leg. Shibata is able to wrap Moriarty’s legs in a modified figure four and Moriarty gets to the ropes. 

Moriarty goes to the floor to shake his leg out and Shibata follows him. As Taylar has the ref distracted, Ogogo nails Shibata in the back. Moriarty rolls into the ring and Shibata makes it in on the 9 count and we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, we see Shibata was able to get in a lot of attacks on Moriarty and they are trading chops in the ring. Shibata no sells the chops and yells at Moriarty to bring it. Shibata then works over Moriarty in the middle of the ring. Shibata gets an abdominal stretch, and when Moriarty gets to the ropes, Shibata hits a suplex and a kick.  Moriarty gets a knee lift and they trade running kicks. They trade control until Shibata gets a rip cord and a big kick for the pin and the win.

Winner: Katsuyori Shibata

After the match, Shane Taylor hits the ring and beats down Shibata, but it’s Hook to the rescue. Moriarty is suplexed and Taylor walks away. Taylor holds Ogogo back and they head to the back.

In the back, Lexi is with Athena and Billie Starkz and is asked about Red Velvet. Athena says the Velvet is a threat, but she is the best champion in all of wrestling and she will make an example out of Velvet. 

In the back, Lex is with the Undisputed Kingdom, and Roderick is asked if Wardlow should get credit for their success, and he says he is the one who deserves all the credit. He does it on his own like Kyle O’Reilly. Tonight Roddy says he is putting on a show called The Beating of a Lifetime.

Daniel Garcia vs Angelico w/Serpentico

They lock up and trade arm bars. Angelico gets an arm whip. Garcia gets a snap mare for two. He then hits an arm bar and a leg sweep. Angelico picks the leg and then hits a spin kick from the mat. He grabs a rollup on Garcia for two. Angelico puts the boots to Garcia into the corner. Angelico gets a side slam and is kicked off by Garcia, and Garica is able to get a quick figure four on Angelico. Angelico turns it over and Garica turns it back over. They go back and forth and then roll into the ropes. 

They kick at each other before getting up and Angelico gets a series of kicks when they get up, and Anglico gets a shot to the face. Garcia gets a swinging neck breaker and has to work his own leg to wake it up. He gets a pair of jabs and a double underhook suplex. Garcia gets a splash in the corner and then hits ten in the corner with a dance on the top. 

Garcia hits a belly to back suplex and follows with the leg lock and Angelico has to tap out.

Winner: Daniel Garcia

In the back, Pac says he thanks Okada for accepting his challenge and attacking him, which he says was very brave in a sarcastic way. He says he had an ongoing headache that he is using as motivation. He doesn’t have Okada looks, money, or cars, but he is a better wrestler than Okada and he will prove it in front of the world at Dynasty next week.

Toni Storm (AEW Women’s Champion) w/Luther and Mariah May vs AZM w/Anna Jay - Eliminator Match

They lock up and Toni slams her to the mat. They lock up again and Storm shoves her into the ropes. AMZ comes out and hits a series of shots and Storm laughs them off. Storm gets a shoulder tackle and AZM comes off the ropes with a leg sweep and a drop kick. AMZ holds Storm down with her foot and gives Storm a stomp for good measure. Storm is able to knock AZM to the floor with a hip attack.

May and Jay fight at ringside up the ramp and into the back. AMZ shoves Storm into the steel steps and then gets a big kick on Storm from the apron as we go picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Storm is knocking AZM down and AZM gets back up and goes at Storm. She throws hands, then kicks and a flying tejaris followed by a spring kick. Both women are down. AZM hits a leg capture suplex and goes to the top. AZM hits a shotgun drop kick from the top for two. Storm gets a power bomb for two. AZM gets an arm drag and rolls Storm up for two. 

Storm grabs AZM’s kick and makes it a suplex, followed by a hip attack. Storm hits the Storm Zero for the pin and the win.

Winner: Toni Storm

After the match, Storm and May share a champagne toast. 

In the back, Lexi is with Red Velvet who says tonight, she will lay Athena out and make an example of her. 

We get a promo from Mark Briscoe and says the House of Black tries to intimidate him, and he can’t be scared, and he is bringing violence to their match next week at Dynasty.

Tony is on the stage to talk to Thunder Rosa. Rosa thanks the fans for making her comeback so fantastic and gives a rah rah AEW speech. She then says she doesn’t need help to win the title, and she tells Deonna Purrazzo she especially doesn’t need her help. Everything she has done, she did on her own. She then says that Toni Storm has forgotten their past together. 

She tells Toni to kiss the title goodbye and she made a mistake wiping off her mask, because she doesn’t want to see what is under it. She’s coming for the title and she’s coming to drag her soul to hell. 

Deonno Purrazoo says that if Rosa doesn’t want her help, that’s fine. Her claim to the world title isn’t personal because she is a workhorse and the Virtuosa. She says if she can’t get one Toni Storm, she’ll go after the other, so she will be facing Mariah May on Collision next week. 

We are then told the Tag Team Title match between the Young Bucks and FTR at Dynasty will be a ladder match.

Kyle Fletcher and Powerhouse Hobbs talk about how they will beat down Danielson and Castagnoli. They expect a hefty fine and the Blackpool Combat Club will not be able to walk out on their own. 

It’s time for the main event.

Bryan Danielson and Caludio Castagnoli vs Powerhouse Hobbs and Kyle Fletcher.

They don't wait for the bell to start fighting and they spill onto the floor quickly. Bryan and Claudio are able to take control and roll Hobbs into the ring and Fletcher into the crowd. Claudio and Hobbs throw hands. Claudio is able to get a scoop slam on Hobbs and then lays in a big kick. He tries to suplex Hobbs, but Hobbs blocks it.  Claudio drops Hobbs on the top and tags in Danielson, who hits a guillotine leg drop. 

Byran locks up Hobbs and tries to get a surfboard, but Hobbs escapes via pure strength. Claudio tags in and Hobbs is finally able to get a stalled vertical suplex and tags in Fletcher. Fletcher works over Claudio in the corner and Claudio reverses a whip and gets ten in the corner. Fletcher knocks Claudio to the floor and the ref makes Hobbs stay back. When Claudio starts to get in the ring and Fletcher kicks him back to the floor as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Claudio has been the babyface in peril through the break. Claudio is able to carry Fletcher on his back as Fletcher has a sleeper on him. Claudio pulls  him off and hits a get wrench. He crawls to his corner and tags in Bryan, who cleans house. Bryahn is cut off when he leaps onto Hobbs on the floor who catches him and slams him repeatedly on the apron. Bryan escapes out the back when Hobbs tries to run him into the ring post and Bryan then goes back to running wild. 

Claudio joins the brawl on the floor and the Blackpool Combat Club is standing tall. Claudio knocks Hobbs into the crowd and then all four men start brawling through the crowd as we go picture in picture. 

When they return to full screen, Fletcher and Hobbs have taken over and they pull up the ringside mats to slam Bryan. Bryan turns the slam into a back body drop and Hobbs is working over Claudio. Bryan rolls into the ring and Fletcher joins him. Bryan is put on top and Fletcher joins him. Bryan blocks the superplex and shoves Fletcher so that he crotches himself off the top. Bryan goes to the top but Hobbs grabs him.  Claudio breaks it up, and he and Hobbs throw hands. They go over the top to the floor and Bryan hits an avalanche belly to back on Fletcher for two. 

Bryan grabs the Labell lock and cranks back. Hobbs breaks it up with a head butt. Hobs tags in and Bryan shoves Hobbs into Fletcher. Bryan crawls to his corner where Claudio has finally gotten on the apron.  Claudio tags in and throws hands on Hobbs, then turns and does the same to Fletcher. He then hits running uppercuts on both men back and forth. 

He then hits the giant swing on Hobbs. He locks on a sharpshooter on Hobbs and Fletch starts kicking Claduio and Claudio keeps the hold. Bryan leaps into a kick from Fletcher and Claudio gives up the hold. Hobbs gets a spinebuster for two. All four men throw hands, starting on their knees and working to their feet. Bryan tosses Fletcher to the floor and dives on him. Claudio gets a Death Valley Driver on Hobbs for two. 

Hobbs and Claudio throw blows and Claudio finally hits a clothesline for two. As they run the ropes, Fletcher trips Claudio and Hobbs gets a clothesline and a world’s strongest slam for two, broken up by Bryan. Fletcher is tagged in and Hobbs grabs a chair to go after Bryan on the floor. The ref grabs the chair and Bryan lays in kicks on Hobbs on the floor. Fletcher leaps on Bryan and Hobbs clears off the announce table. 

Bryan is whipped into Hobbs but goes up and over. Claudio knocks Hobbs across the table. Claudio then gets a running hurricanrana off the table onto Fletcher. He hits a Ricola Bomb in the ring for the pin and the win.

Winners: Bryan Danielson and Claudiop Castagnoli

Takeshita hits the ring and he attacks the BCC with Hobbs. Bryan is hit with a brain buster on the ramp by Takeshita. Claudio grabs a chair to run them off and it’s time for Battle of the Belts.
