You recently noted that AEW’s responses to WWE’s broadsides was no different from what WWF and WCW did in the late ‘90s. I absolutely agree. It’s funny to see people acting as though AEW is the only promotion to engage in petty swipes when WWF, WCW, and ECW did the exact same thing all the time (Billionaire Ted, Gillberg, the DX invasion, Monday Nyquil, Cornette’s op-eds, etc.). Regardless of the effectiveness of Tony Kahn showing the All In footage, CM Punk and even WWE know that they were fair game after that Helwani interview. They could have avoided talking about AEW, but here we are. Even Dave gleefully pointed out Grayson Waller jibing AEW on Twitter, but when TK and the Bucks do it, it’s unprofessional? Do you see the same double standard that I see?

I think everyone is entitled to their opinions.  To me, it's all about trying to get attention and engage fans.  I had no issue when ECW did it.  I had no issue when Eric Bischoff did it.  I have no issue if AEW does it, but it shouldn't be done at the expense of the company and once you do it, you are fair game for someone else to knock, parody, etc.

Why doesn't WWE use music from their records on the Network and Peacock?  How do they not use Hillbilly Jim's song, for example?

It's a rights issue, as in they didn't want to pay the rights and royalties.  Perhaps that changes under Endeavor.

Did Simon Cowell really produce a WWE record?

Yes, Wrestlemania: The Album, which was released in July 1993.

I was watching old ECW stuff and I have to ask, how much of Sandman being drunk was just a gimmick?

WELL, Let's just say Sandman really lived the gimmick during that era and what you saw was exactly what you got. It was common a lot of the time. As for it being dangerous, Sandman used to claim he was safer in the ring after a few drinks. There were times where some wrestlers, including Mick Foley, would complain about his actions and from time to time, Sandman did curb himself.

Do you think we've seen the last of The Rock in the ring?

Absolutely not.

I noticed you don't do as many live shows from Philadelphia, etc. in terms of coverage anymore.  I really enjoyed that aspect of the site and having it back over Wrestlemania.  Any chance you are back doing live coverage from independennts again?

When there is something I can make and I believe the show is worthwhile, absolutely.  I'm just not going to drive three hours each way and spend $60 on tolls for a show I can stream from my home for free, especially in the COVID-19  era.
