Game Changer Wrestling: Joey Janela’s Spring Break 8
This show was at The Auditorium at Penns Landing Caterers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Commentary is by Dave Prazak and Veda Scott
They start with a memorial still for Michael “Virgil” Jones.
Masato Tanaka & Minoru Suzuki vs. Rina Yamashita & Masha Slamovich
Tanaka and Rina start 9off the match with a collar and elbow tie up and Rina forces them into the corner and breaks clean. They run the ropes and Rina can’t budge Tanaka until the third collusion. Rina gets a quick headlock takeover and Tanaka breaks free. Suzuki and Masha tag in. They don’t lock up but just throw hands instead.
Suzuki takes her hits and drops her with a single shot. Tanaka tags in and works an arm bar. Rina breaks up the arm bar and it becomes all four brawling onto the ringside area. They go back into the ring and Suzuki stomps down Masha. He and Tanaka work her over with quick tags. Rina eventually gets in the ring to try to break things up and Takana tosses her to the outside.
Masha is able to get the tag and she gets a clothesline on Suzuki in the corner. They throw hands in the middle of the ring. Tanaka tags in and gets a clothesline in the corner repeatedly. He puts Rina on the top and hits a superplex. He holds on and Rina is able to reverse it and get a suplex of her own. Rina gets a reverse pile driver and tags in Masha.
Masha gets clotheslines in the corner and a spin kick for two. Suzuki kicks her back when she goes to the ropes. They try to double team Masha, but instead she takes them out and Rina gets in the ring for a double team power bomb.
Rina pulls a door out from under the ring. All four get in the ring and they brawl around the door in the corner. Tanalka suplexes Masha into the door for two. Suzuki works over Rina on the floor as Tanaka tries for an attack on Masha, but Masha is able to roll through and gets a crucifix pin for the pin and the win.
Winners: Rina Yamashita & Masha Slamovich
Nick Wayne, Jordan Oliver, and Mike Bailey vs. Ricky Morton, Robert Gibson, and Kerry Morton
This is the 4th Mike Bailey match I am covering this weekend.
Kerry grabs a mic and tells people to shut up and says his opponents aren’t good enough to be in the ring with him. He says this match isn’t about anyone else in the ring and it is all about him.
Wayne, Oliver and Bailey work him over together and get a quick two count. They keep working him over with quick tags. Kerry gets an eye poke and tags in Ricky, who seems irritated by what Kerry is doing. Wayne and Ricky lock up and Wayne gets a shoulder tackle when they run the ropes. Ricky gets a shoulder tackle. Wayne goes to the ropes and Kerry kicks him in the back and Ricky is not happy about it.
Kerry tags in and gets a body slam. Kerry works over Wayne in the corners and taunts Wayne team after each move. Ricky refuses the tag and Kerry gets a two count with feet on the ropes and the rerf sees it. Wayne gets a big uppercut and they crawl to their corners. Bailey is tagged in and he works over Kerry with kicks. Oliver tags it, gets a big cutter and covers for two. Oliver takes a strike but gets a hip toss and a chop.
He and Wayne go for a springboard off the ropes, but Kerry shoves the ref into the ropes to take them down. Ricky and Robert get in the ring to lecture Kerry, but he shoves them when they do. They argue in the ring and they take a pause to go after Bailey’s team. Wayne is left in the ring and Ricky kicks him down and follows with a destroyer. Wayne rolls to the floor and Ricky dives onto his entire team.
Robert tosses Oliver into the ring, and Kerry joins Ricky for a double drop kick. Bailey is able to get the Ultimo weapon on Kerry. Wayne and Oliver get a double team springboard off the ropes for the pin and the win.
Winners: Nick Wayne, Jordan Oliver, and Mike Bailey

YAMATO, Dragon Kid, and Kzy vs. Shun Skywalker, Ben-K, and Kota Minoura
Yamatp starts off with Ben with a collar and elbow tie up. Ben is able to grab an ankle and works it on the mat. Minoura and Kzy tag in and they lock up and move to arm bars. They run the ropes and Minoura gets a clothesline. Skywalker and Kid tag in. Skywlaker shoves Kid into the ropes and they run the ropes. Skywalker is able to stop Kid’s spinning attack, but Kid gets a jawbreaker. He throws hands and Ben and Minoura fight in the ring as Skywalker is fighting on the floor. Ben works over Kid and then gets a gut wrench back and forth before launching him overhead.
Skywalker tags back in and allows Kid to keep striking as it has no effect on him. Skywalker tags in Minoura and he hits a series of back breakers followed by a Boston Crab until Kid gets to the ropes for a break. Kid is able to fight off Minoura and Skywalker tags in and takes a Hurricanrana. Krz dives onto Skywalker’s team and Ben is rolled into the ring where Yamato gets a two count.
Ben and Yamato throw hands in the middle of the ring. Ben takes over the exchange and Charges, but Yamato gets a knee strike and Krz comes in to hit a spear in the corner. Ben is put on the top and Kid hits a Hurricanrana from the top and Krz covers for two, broken up by Skywalker. Skywalker is able to work over all three of his opponents. Skywalker hits a double underhook powerbomb for two.
Krz and Slkywalker throw hands. Skywalker hits a German suplex, but Krz lands on his feet and hits a running elbow. It’s time for each person to take out the last person who was in the ring.
Minoura gets caught in a crucifix by Kid and Krz hits an elbow strike so that Kid and Krz get the pin and the win.
Winners: YAMATO, Dragon Kid, and Kzy

Cole Raderick vs Myron Reed vs Arez vs Aigle Blanc vs Mr. Danger vs Leon Slater vs Marcus Mathers vs Alec Price
Grab the Brass Ring Ladder Match, whoever grabs the brass ring gets the match of their choice at any time.
Everyone starts brawling around the building when the bell rings. Roderick and Blanc get in the ring with chairs and start swinging. Blanc rolls out of the ring and it’s time for one person at a time to get in the ring, take out the last person. M.r Danger is able to bring the ladder in the ring as they continue. Mathers and Arez use the ladder as a weapon, but Blanc stops them and it’s back to two at a time in the ring.
Price does the ladder around his neck spinning a bit. After taking everyone out he’s too dizzy to stand up.
Microman’s music plays and he comes to the ring with a step ladder and he is the final entrant in the match. He does the spinning ladder bit, but he is at crotch level.
Microman takes out Mathers but Price takes out Microman.
Price is the first person to set up a ladder, and it’s time for the crazy high spots. Danger is dumped off the ladder and we get a whole bunch of people getting dumped on the ladder to take dives. They go back to high spots until Mathers dumps Blanc onto everyone at ringside and starts to climb. He is pulled off and it’s time for multiple ladders.
So many dives!
Danger and Raderick start up the ladder and fight all the way up. Danger is knocked off and Raderick is able to get the brass ring.
Winner: Cole Raderick
This was a pure car crash match with tons of crazy spots.
Matt Cardona (w/ Steph De Lander & Broski Jimmy) vs. Blue Pain
Cardona comes to the ring on a thorne and cuts a promo about how great he is and how terrible this city is. Blue Pain’s gear looks like Kane’s old gear, only in blue.
Cardona bails when Pain makes the first move. Cardona gets in the ring and hits a few punches, which Pain ignores and Pain gets a big boot. Cardona escapes a chokeslam and bails again. Pain follows him and they brawl all around the building. Pain sets up a table near the stage and when he gets toi Cardona, Cardona rakes the eyes and tosses a fan out of his chair.
There is a wheelchair and Cardona is put in it. Jimmy saves him and gets put in the chair and wheeled off the stage into the table. Pain has a steel chair, whacks him with it and trolls Cardona into the ring. Cardona attacks Pain when he gets in the ring and is able to take over. Cardona and De Lander get a front face slam on Pain for two. De Lander gives Cardona an urn. Blue knocks the urn into Delandert and starts working over Cardona.
Cardona gets a choke slam and DeLander pulls the ref out at two. De Lander is attacked by Blue, allowing Cardona to hit him with a chair and hits radio silence. He calls for a ref from the back and it’s a wrestler who wears similar gear to Cardona. He counts two and then flips off Cardona. The new guy nails a low blow on Pain when he gets up. Pain sits up while they celebrate.
Pain gives double choke slams. De Lander gets a chokeslam as well. Jimmy is back with a neck brace. He throws a fireball at Pain, and Cardona hits radio silence for the pin and the win and the ref has recovered and counts the pin.
Winner: Matt Cardona
Gringo Loco vs. Amazing Red
They shake hands before starting and we are told Gingo is an admirer of Red. They move quickly to arm bars and Red forces Loco into the corner where they break clean. They trade waistlocks and arm bars. They then run the ropes and Red gets an arm drag and they just keep swinging at each other until Loco covers up and Red does NOt fire the kick. They run the ropes again and Red gets a tejaris. Red leaps onto Loco and gets a hurricanrana on the floor.
Red gets into the ring and then dives onto Loco on the floor. They fight at ringside after Red breaks the count. Red tosses Loco back in the ring and covers for two. Red gets a snap mare and a kick to the back of the head and covers for two. Red lays in chops in the ropes, but when he charges at Loco, Loco gets a military press and a slam for two.
Loco gets a tilt-a-whirl slam for two. Loco works over Red in the corner. Red rolls to the floor and Loco allows him to recover. When Red gets in the ring, they fight in the corner and Red gets a hurricanrana and a DDT for two.Loco is able to elevate Red to the turnbuckles and then hits a power bomb for two. They go to the top and Red tosses Loco off and then hits a DDT from the top for two.
Red charges Loco and Loco tosses him overhead into the turnbuckles. Loco goes up and gets a leaping slam on Red for two. Loco lifts Red and tries for a power bomb, but Red turns it into a Destroyer for two. Red goes to the top, and Loco knocks his legs out from under him. Loco gets on the apron and climbs to the top with Red. Loco gets a Spanish Fly from the top for two.
Loco goes to the top and gets a spinning heel kick on Loco and climbs to meet him. Red gets a poisonrana from the top. Red gets a running kick in the corner, goes to the top and hits a double stomp. Red goes up again and hits a frog splash. Red hits the Code Red for the pin and the win.
Winner: Amazing Red
I Quit Match: Effy vs. Mance Warner
Warner immediately beats down Effy and when he steps back and charges, Effy gets a suplex and a series of boots. He hits a famouser and slam followed by a modified dragon sleeper. Warner frees himself with an eye rake. Effy fills the ring with plunder. Effy uses a chair and goes after Warner as he sets up doors around the ring. Warner grabs Effy’s arm and starts working on the arm again.
He slams Effy onto a chair that had been set up. Warner then hits a leaping DDT through the door in the corner. Effy refuses to give up. Warner beats down Effy with a chair. Warner sets up a door and is able to get a blockbuster. Effy hits a gut wrench slam through the door and Warner refuses to give up. Effy piles up chairs and puts the boots to Warner. Effy hit a pile driver on the chairs.
Effy goes for a famouser, but Warner power bombs him on the chairs. He takes the referee’s belt and goes after Effy with it. Effy is able to take the belt and puts Warner on top and wraps the belt around his neck. Warner is able to drive Effy through a door set up on chairs from the top. They fight on the apron and Effy gets a blockbuster onto the apron.
Effy grabs more plunder and sets up another door on chiefs on the floor. They fight on the apron again and Warner choke slams Effy through the door. Effy is rolled into the ring and they smash each other with broken doors. Effy is able to beat Warner down until the door is broken to pieces. They throw hands in the middle of the ring, barely able to stand. Warner hits a low blow and Effy gets a head butt to the swimsuit area.
Warner pulls a screwdriver from hsi boot and uses it on Effy by hacking at his head with it. Warner grabs zip ties from under the ring. Effy is busted open and Warner zip ties him to the ropes. Warner tosses a chair at Effy’s face as he is tied to the ropes. He throws a chair every time Effy refuses to quit.
Allie Katch comes into the ring with a drill. Warner nails her with a chair and grabs the drill. He tells Effy to quit or he’ll use the drill. Effy tells him it’s between them and then he quits.
Winner: Mance Warner
Maki Death Kill (Maki Itoh & Nick Gage) vs. Danhausen & Ram Kaicho
Danhausen asks for Maki and Gage tags her in. Danhausen curses her and she flips him off. They run the ropes and Danhasuen runs through Maki. He then steals her signature head butt. Maki starts to cry and then attacks. She drops Danhausen and hits her head butt for two. Ram is tagged in and they trade arm bars, but Ram blows dust in Maki’s face.
Ram chokes a doll and Maki starts to choke. Ram beats up the doll and Maki reacts to it.
So, this is not a serious match, I take it.
Maki is able to take the doll and starts to work over Ram with the ten in the corner. Maki covers for two. Gage tags in and beats down Ram. Gage hits a running elbow. Gage hits a snap suplex for two. Ram is able to pop up and gets a DDT and tags in Danhausen. Danhasuen gets ten in the corner. He then gets a series of jabs and a flying shoulder tackle. Maki comes in to take a Manhattan drop.
Gage trips Danhausen and grabs a chair on the floor. He suplexes Danhausen on the floor and it’s time for him to toss plunder into the ring. Ram is tossed into the ring post and Maki gets a spinning DDT on Danhausen as Gage is setting up a door. Ram gets a codebreaker on Gage. Ram and Maki clothesline each other down. Ram grabs more grave dust.
Gage has a pizza cutter and Ram hits him with the dust and drop kicks him through the door. Danhausen grabs the pizza cutter and uses it on Maki. He gives the pizza cutter to Ram. Danhausen gets a suplex on Gage and Ram uses the pizza cutter on Maki. Danhausen has a jar of teeth and pours them into Maki’s month. Danhausen covers for two.
Maki is able to get up and gets a knee to the back of Ram as Danhausen gets a door from under the door. As he sets it up, Gage spears him through it. Gage and Maki hit double DDTs on Danhasen and Ram. Gage and Maki hit head butts and cover for the pin and the win.
Winners: Maki Death Kill
GCW World Championship: Blake Christian GCW World Champion w/Shane Mercer vs Joey Janela w/ Missy Hyatt
They lock up collar and elbow and go to the corner and Blake breaks cleanly. They lock up again and this time Janela forces them to the corner and breaks clean. This time, when they lock up they move to running the ropes and Janela gets a shoulder tackle. Blake goes to the floor. Mercer is able to snap Janela’s head on the top rope and gets a headlock takeover.
They run the ropes again and Janela gets a hip toss. They do it again and Janela gets a BIG back body drop. Blake puts Janela on the apron and then hits him with a spear on the apron. Blake goes for a dive and Janela hits him with a door. Blake then hits a dive, driving the door into Janela. He rolls Janela into the ring and works him over in the corner.
Blake gets a suplex and does not follow up. Blake pulls Janela up and they run the ropes again and Blake hits a drop kick. Blake then starts to work over Janela in the middle of the ring. Janela gets a little offence in but Blake cuts him off and tosses him to the floor. He follows and then works him over on the floor.
He rolls Janela into the ring and goes back to work. He works over Janela slowly and deliberately. When whipped into the ropes, Janells is able to get a sling blade. He follows up with charges in the corner. Janela then hits double knees with Blake in the ropes, and follows with a brain buster for two. Blake is able to reverse a pile driver into a back body drop and then gets a kick to the back of Janela’s head. He goes to the top rope for a springboard uppercut for two.
They trade slaps on their knees and then punches. Janela is able to knock Blake over, pulls him up and hits a series of blows. Janela charges into him and they each get attacks as they run the ropes until they clothesline each other down. They move to fighting on the apron, Janela is able to get a DDT on the apron.
Janela pulls a chair out from under the ring and nails Blake in the back with it. Janela makes another door bridge and goes to the apron where they go back to fighting. Blake hits a suplex on the apron and they both fall to the floor. Blake rolls Janela into the ring and covers for two. Blake pills Janela up and lays in blows and Janela hits a back body drop tossing Blake to the floor. He goes to the top and hits a Swanton from the top to the floor.
They return to the ring and Janela gets a German suplex. He then hits a snap dragon suplex. Janela grabs Blake off the top for a Death Valley Driver for one only. They go to the top and Blake pulls Janela down, and Janela is in the ropes. Blake gets a Spanish fly and a standing 450 for two.
Janela dodges a curb stomp and rolls to the floor. Blake hits a dive onto Janela and Janela is rolled into the ring. Blake misses a frog splash and Janela hits a package piledriver for two. They fight in the corner and Janela is able to reverse Blake’s big moves and gets a two count. Janela goes to the floor and grabs non folding chairs and makes another door bridge. He shoves a folding chair into the ring and batters Blake with it.
Janela sets up the chair and puts Blake’s head in the chair. Janela tries to come off the ropes but Mercer grabs his foot. Blake gets a spinebuster into the chair. Blake hits the curb stomp for two. Blake and Mercer set up a door bridge in the ring and Hyatt gets into the ring. She gets in Mercer’s face and he grabs her. Mercer grabs Hyatt and Janela nails him, making him drop Hyatt. Mercer puts Janela on the top and Janela fights his way free and tosses Mercer through the door on the floor.
Blake hits a low blow and puts him under the door in the ring. Blake goes to the top and Janela is up and meets him there. Janela hits a superplex through the door and covers for two. Janela puts the door on Blake and hits a double stomp from the top for two.
Blake escapes a rack and hits a DDT. They throw hands on their knees. They move to standing. Janela hits a series of blows and Blake gets a head butt. Blake gets a foot grabbed by Hyatt. He gives Janela a back elbow and he pulls Hyatt into the ring. Janela nails Blake and calls for the purse. Hyatt goes to hit Blake and he dodges and she almost hits Janela.
When he turns his back, she nails him with the bag in the back of the head. Blake hits the curb stomp for the pin and the win.
Winner and still GCW Champion: Blake Christian
This was by FAR the longest show, and they should have trimmed it down a bit. The main event went on way too long. They could have cut three matches and about 15 minutes from the main event and it would have been a much better show. If you are going to watch it, take an intermission right before the ladder match.
