COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

It’s WEDNESDAY! You know what that means! AEW is LIVE and on the air.  Taz, Tony Schiavone and Excalibur have the call of all the action as we are on the road to Dynasty.  

Schiavone is in the ring and brings out Swerve Strickland.  Swerve says his goal for the last 2 years has been to be AEW World Champion. Maybe some doubt is creeping into his head. Maybe he’s only a role player (his words, not mine).  He felt moved that, for the first time on Sunday, he felt people really wanted him to win.  He promises to one day beat Samoa Joe. 

Samoa Joe comes out, dressed to fight. He gives us all a reality check. Swerve’s House exists in Joe’s world. Swerve wants a title match now. 

The challenge brings out the Undisputed Kingdom. It’s Story Time With Adam Cole. Cole mocks Swerve as he’ll never win the AEW World Title. Wardlow is the man to win the title. Swerve calls Cole Dr. Claw form Inspector Gadget.  Cole challenges Swerve and Joe to meet Taven and Bennett next week.

Tony Schiavone intervenes. Tony Khan makes the match official RIGHT NOW.

Mike Bennett & Matt Taven vs. Samoa Joe & Swerve Strickland

Joe and Bennett kick us off. Jabs and punches by Joe. Bennett tries to help but he gets jabbed and punched. Taven and Bennett collide. Kick and a senton by Joe for 1. Headbutt by Joe, Bennett tags in. Taven with a kick and Bennett scores a 1 at best.  We go to commercial.

As we return, Taven with an enziguiri. Uranage by Joe and Swervetags in.  Swerve cleans house of the Kingdom. Swerve struts.Flatliner to Bennett into a brainbuster. Swerve to the top and Taven stops him.. Regardless, Swerve with a swerve stomp to Bennett and a house call to taven. Swerve with what looks like a Michinoku Driver for the pin.

WINNERS SWERVE STRICKLAND & SAMOA JOE

Wardlow walks out and Joe applies the Kokina Clutch to Swerve

Samoa Joe vs. Wardlow is official for next week in Boston.  

Renee Paquette is with Hook. Chris Jericho shows us and wishes Hook luck tonight.

Nicholas and Matthew Jackson have 2 huge announcements that they’ll make later tonight.

FTW Championship: Hook vs. Brian Cage

Jabs and punches by Hook. Knee strike by Cage. Cage misses a charge and blocks a T Bone. T Bone by Cage and a clothesline. Belly to Belly by Cage. Cage grabs a chair. Hook grabs a fire extinguisher and blows it in Cage’s face. Trash can lid to the head by Hook. Cage sends Hook into the stairs. Cage misses a charge into the steps but nails a powerslam.Cage misses a charge into the rail as we go to commercial.

We return and Cage with a chair shot to the back of Hook. DDT by Hook on a chair in the ring. Hook countered an F5. Hook with clotheslines. BIG lariat by Hook.  T Bone by Hook and he nails Cage with the trash can. T Bone on to the guard rail for 2 by Hook.  Cross faces by Hook. Neckbreaker by Cage. Powerbomb and an F5 for 2 by Cage. 

Cage grabs a bag of thumbtacks. Redrum attempt. Cage slams him into the corner. Kendo stick shots by Hook into a T Bone onto the tacks.  Cross faces by Hook into Redrum. Cage falls back but Hook keeps the hold on and Cage passes out.

WINNER AND STILL FTW CHAMPION HOOK

Gates of Agony attack Hook. Chris Jericho makes the save.  We are then reminded that AEW World Tag Team Title is vacant and a tournament will be held.

Renee is with Orange Cassidy and Best Friends. Chuck is not cleared yet. Cassidy and Trent will be the team in the tournament.

Killswitch with the PAtriarchy and Nick Wayne’s Mom vs. Daddy Magic Matt Menard

Menard attacks at the outset. Punches in the corner by Menard. Menard moves to another corner and nails a clotheslines. Chokeslam by Killswitch.  Killswitch with back lariats, Menard may be out. Killswitch scores the pin.

WINNER KILLSWITCH

Daniel Garcia with the save. He pounds away and Nick Wayne hits him. Kick by Killswitch. Cutter by Wayne. Nick Wayne’s Mom is happy.

Adam Copeland comes out and chokes out Nick Wayne. Copeland chases Cage away.  Cage steals a car and drives away,

Tony Khan makes an I Quit Match official for Toronto between Cage and Copeland.

Renee speaks with Kyle O’Riley, who says he needs to forge his own path.

We see highlights of Sting’s Last Match.

Schiavone is in the ring. He brings out the EVPs, Nicholas and MAtthew Jackson.  Tony mocks the Jackson’s loss and gets ejected from the ring. They are entering the AEW Tag Team championship tournament.  They have 2 announcements.  First, Hangman Adam Page is suspended for assaulting 2 AEW referees. He is suspended indefinitely.  The 2nd: KEnny Omega is fired form the Elite for missing dates. Here comes Eddie Kingston. He says to fine him now. A fight breaks out and the Bucks lay him out.  

KAZUCHIKA OKADA comes out to make the save.  The Rainmaker is here! Oops, he nails Eddie with the Rainmaker. The newest member of the Elite is Okada. He gestures to Eddie that he wants the Continental Crown.  Kingston v Okada? Yes please.

We see highlights of Wil Ospreay’s official AEW debut.

Kris Statlander with Stokely Hathaway and Willow Nightingale vs. Riho

Lockup, Kris bullies her into the corner. Leg sweep by Statlander into a body slam. Statlander misses a senton. Dropkick by Riho. Drop toe hold by Riho, Riho misses a 619. Statlander with a bearhug into a suplex. Chops by Statlander. Riho with forearms. Kicks by Riho. Bodyslam by Statlander as we go to commercial.

We are back and Riho fires away. Stomp and dropkick by Riho. Northern Lights by Riho. Riho to the top, she misses a stomp and Stat nails a lariat, followed by another. A third by Kris. Upkick by Riho.  Rana and a 619 by Riho. Riho with a dragon suplex for 2. Riho misses a knee and Stalander with a powerbomb for 2.

Hathaway slips a chain into the ring. Stat throws it away and nails a German suplex, followed by a 2nd. Riho with a rollup for the pin.

WINNER RIHO

We see highlights of Toni Storm’s win over Deonna Purrazzo Sunday night.

Renee is with the AEW Women’s Champion. She presents Mariah May with her first t shirt.

Stoklely is with Willow. Next week Willow vs. Riho has been signed.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring. He brings out Darby Allin. Tony wants to know what it’ll be like without Sting. He’s emotional, look forward to the match next week vs. Jay White. He thanks every fan and AEW for giving him this dream.  He drops the AEw tag title belt.

Jay White comes out with the Gunns. He congratulates Darby for Sunday night. He blames Darby for Sting getting doubled teamed Sunday after the glass spot. He calls Darby a little lost puppy. He offers to save Darby’s health by having him hang out with the Bang Bang Scissor Gang.  Darby mocks him for his lack of recent success.  Darby whispers in White’s ear.

The match is on for next week.

Jay Lethal and MArk Briscoe are together. Lethal wants Mark to trust Jeff Jarrett.

Kyle Fletcher vs. Will Ospreay

Don Callis has joined the booth. Lockup, arm twist by Kyle. Takedown by Ospreay into a headlock. Shoulderblock by Fletcher. Rana by Ospreay (honestly it was so fast I probably missed 3 moves). Chop by Ospreay. Hard whip to the buckle by Fletcher as we go to commercial.

We are back and Ospreay is kicking Fletcher. Snap dragon by Fletcher. Running kick and a brain buster by Fletcher for 2. They trade chops. Fletcher is down.  Side kick by Fletcher. Elbow strikes by Ospreay. DDT by Ospreay. Kyle blocks a hidden blade. Both men are down. Oscutter on the apron by Ospreay as we go to commercial.

We are back. Fletcher is down. He fires back and nails a running knee strike. Poison rana by Ospreay.  Ospreay with aLiger bomb for 2. Fletcher with a face drop for 2. Powerbomb for 2 by Fletcher. Running kick by Fletcher. Ospreay with the side kick. Poison rana and a hidden blade for 2 by Ospreay.  Kicks by Ospreay.. They trade forearms. Roundhouse kicks and a spanish fly by Fletcher. Oscutter for 2 by Ospreay with the hidden blade for the pin.
