So next week’s Smackdown, Cody and Seth are set to answer Rock and Roman’s tag team challenge for Wrestlemania. Smackdown is also taking place in Dallas Texas. Any chance the pot gets sweetened for the tag match and we hear some Glass Shattering in Dallas next Friday? Gimme a Hell Yeah?
I am very interested to see how the Seth Rollins aspect of this is handled. If they accept, Cody and Roman are both working twice, so that is even. Seth, as you said, would not be. Drew McIntyre is a heel who showed us in the Chamber that he will pick the bones so if Seth does accept the match, it would be in character with him being the working champion. But, I too have thought that they may find a way to get someone else in the match and who better than Steve Austin in that scenario? Mike Eps and I talked about the scenario in-depth on Saturday’s FMB for those interested.
Rock pitched the stakes of that Wrestlemania tag match in a way that made him and Roman winning it seem inevitable. However, should Cody and Seth win that tag match, just to put a little doubt in the audience that Cody could beat Roman AGAIN in Night Two?
The beauty of the booking is that you can make the case to go either way. You could go with putting even more odds against Cody, or you could make us think it will be one on one (and probably have The Bloodline go back on their word and give Cody something to overcome anyway). Great booking allows for a lot of options.
Is it me or does The Rock look ridiculous bringing back his 1999 shirts standing next to the bloodline. The sunglasses, I get. But maybe he could be a little more uniform with the Bloodline? He can rock the black athletic shirts and track pants. Or maybe a red and black themed 800 dollar shirt? I don’t know.
I have no issue with his shirts.
The Rock's Instagram promo. Wow. I think we were all guilty of being a bit too critical (albeit through passion) of The Rock when he was seemingly about to face Roman at Mania. But by god, we should be rightly praising not only the decision to change direction, but his work to date! He is absolutely KILLING IT. What say you?
I can compartmentalize. The fans had every right to demand the match that they had been booked to see. Had Cody not won the Rumble, then it wouldn’t have been an issue, but he did so that is what they promised us. With that said, I love that Rock and WWE pivoted and did the right thing. Rock’s promos have been great.
With Cash Wheeler now being officially charged with a 3rd degree felony in FL, aggravated assault with a weapon, shouldn't TK pull him from the active roster until after the trial?
Personally, given what I have seen, I don’t think it has to be done at this time. But, if you do I can see your point of view. You can make the case for both positions.
