AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite at the  BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.  Our commentary team is Excalibur, Matt Menard, and Tony Schiavone.

Komander, Penta, and Brian Keith vs Top Flight (Dante and Darius Martin), and Action Andretti vs Private Party (Marq Quen and Isaiah Cassidy) and Matt Sydal 

Every week, they try to make my job harder.

  • Sydal and Andretti start off, and we are told Private Party is trying out Sydal to see if they can become a trios team with them

  • Andretti gets out of a tejaris, hits a leaping arm drag and a drop-kick.

  • Darius tags in and Sydal works him over with kicks

  • Darius gets a gut buster and Keith tags in

  • Keith hits a big boot and Cassidy tags in, Cassidy gets a few moves before Quen is tagged in with a big cross body and a two count

  • Penta is tagged in and does his bit taking off the glove

  • Dante tags in and the tag siren goes off so everyone in the ring fighting. 

  • Komander and Dante work flips and arm drags

  • Penta tags in and takes Dante down with a pair of sling blades

  • Andretti tags in and Keith tags in for a neck breaker as we go to picture in picture

  • Andretti was the babyface in peril through the break

  • Andretti gets a handspring back elbow on Private Party and all three are down.

  • Dante tags in hits a ton of moves on Quen

  • Darius and Keith fight from the ring to the floor. 

  • Cassidy dives onto them and it's time for everyone to fight again. 

  • Divapalooza

  • Penta is rolled into the ring and Private Party tries for gin and juice and instead, Penta hits a destroyer on Cassidy

  • More dives!

  • Penta hits fear factor on Sydal for the pin and the win.

Winners: Komander, Penta, and Brian Keith

In the back, Renee Paquette is with Saraya and Harley Cameron and is checking in about Ruby and Angelo’s date. Saraya screams she doesn't care about Ruby. After Harley calms her down, she tells Renee that her Brother, Zodiac Zack Knight is now all Elite and she would have set Ruby up with him. Harley starts to get a bit nuts and Saraya sprays her with a water bottle and they leave. 

The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) vs The Already In The Ring Jonny Lyons and Cappuccino Jones

The Bucks are now in black suits.

The Bucks win by hitting the Tony Khan driver on Cappuccino Jones. 

Winners: The Young Bucks

The Bucks are unhappy with the referee, saying the ref called him Nick instead of Nicholas. He orders the ref to apologize, and he does. The Bucks then tell Tony Schiavone to join them in the ring. Nick says that last week he tripped on his own foot and fell into Tony and he apologized. They show him a $25 gift card. 

They then say they can’t get the blood stains out of their white suits. Tony asks if they can rescind his fine, and they say they can’t do that. They then say Sting can call them Father Time because they are undefeated and they are coming for him.

Tony is in the ring to interview Sammy Guevara. He asks Sammy about Don Callis’s treats against him. He says Powerhouse Hobbs doesn’t need Don Callis sucking the life out of him and can be a star on his own. He calls out Hobbs, and Callis comes out instead. 

Callus says the only thing Sammy has done in the last 6 months is reproduce and even people in Oklahoma can do that. Hobbs tries to attack Sammy from behind,and Sammy gets a superkick and a dive onto Hobbs. He takes a chair to Hobbs and tries for a GTH, but Hobbs nails him and hits a pair of spinebusters. He follows with a world’s most dangerous slam and they leave Sammy laying. 

Mariah May vs Anna Jay

They lock up and May is able to power them back into the ropes with a break, and May hits a check slap when they break. May tris Jay and then Jay does the same and follows with a neck breaker. May forces Jay to the corner and hits a chest slap again. They trade chops in the corner. May wraps Jay in the ropes and grabs a rear chinlock, then breaks and hits a drop-kick into Jay’s back.  Jay is knocked out of the ring as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, May was working Jay over all through the break and has her in a straightjacket hold. Jay works to her feet and they trade slaps. The slaps become chops and then become forearms. Jay gets a flying elbow and then a back elbow in the corner. May gets a kick in the corner and goes to the top. Jay gets a hip attack and then flips May to the mat for two.

Jay tries for a backslide, but May reverses and Jay rolls through. May hits a knee strike.  May tries to set for Mayday, but Jay turns it into a queenslayer, and May backs her into the corner for the break. May puts Jay on top and gets a headstand hurricanrana. May misses the hip attack and Jay gets a back breaker for two. Jay gets a queenslayer and May bites Jay to break the hold.

May is able to hit the Mayday for the pin and the win.

Winner: Mariah May

Renee is with Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker and they both say they have had a great date. Renee updates Ruby on Saraya’s wanting to set her up with her brother. Ruby says that for the last year, Saraya said Ruby needed her, and now she knows that Saraya needs her and next week, she will bring everyone along on her date with Parker. 

It’s time for the main event

Roderick Strong w/The Kingdom vs Jake Hager w/Hornsby (a baseball mascot)

They lock up and as Hager forces Roddy to the corner, Roddy dodges out of the hold. Roddy gets a chop and Hager chases him out of the ring. When Roddy returns to the ring, they run the ropes and Roddy leaps right into Hager’s arms. They fight in the corner and Hager wins the exchange with chops. Roddy goes to the floor again, and this time, Hager follows him. He rolls Roddy into the ring, but Roddy pops him when Hager gets into the ring. 

Roddy beats him down, but Hager is up quickly and Roddy runs into a boot, and then nails a clothesline for two. Hager keeps Roddy on the mat by holding him down with a knee. Hager works Roddy over in the corner as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Roddy escapes out of the back and tries for a sunset flip, and instead, Hager grabs him and pulls him up. Roddy gets a big boot up and gets a fireman’s carry slam for two. Hornsby revs up the crowd and the Kingdom start to threaten him. Hornsby fires confetti at them, and they keep coming. 

Then, Orange Cassidy’s music hits and he slowly walks to the ring. Cassidy pulls out Hager’s purple hat and throws it to him. Hager puts the hat on.

Cassidy takes out The Kingdom and Hager hits a series of clotheslines and suplex on Roddy. Hager hits a Hager bomb for two. The Kingdom is able to turn the tide on Cassidy and Hager hits a doctor bomb on Roddy for two. Hager grabs an ankle lock and Roddy rolls over and gets a few kicks, but Hager rolls him back.  The Kingdom rolls Cassidy into the ring, and the ref checks on Cassidy as Hager fights off The Kingdom. 

This allows Roddy to get a leaping knee stroke for the pin and the win.

Winner: Roderick Strong
