AEW RAMPAGE TV REPORT

It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, TX.  Our commentary team is Excalibur, Matt Menard, and Tony Schiavone.

Jeff Hardy vs. Sammy Guevara - No DQ.

They start with slaps and then throwing hands. Jeff slams Sammy and then goes to the outside. Jeff pulls out a ladder and shoves it in the ring, but Sammy drop kicks it into Jeff. Sammy sets the ladder up in the ring. They brawl on the outside and then move to fighting on the apron. Sammy gets a meteora on Jeff from the top to the apron and then covers Jeff for two.

They go back to brawling on the floor. Jeff sets up the steel steps and launches off of them into Sammy. Jeff tosses a chair at Sammy in the corner and then goes up the ladder. Sammy climbs the other side and they throw hands at the top. Jeff hits a Twist of Fate off the ladder and covers for two as we go picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, a ladder had been set up at ringside as well as a table. Jeff puts Sammy on the table and then climbs the big ladder at ringside. Sammy is able to get up and he drags Jeff down and rolls him into the ring. They fight in the corner and Sammy wraps the chair around Jeff’s head before hitting a cutter. He then pulls Jeff out of the ring and puts him on the table. 

Sammy then climbs the ladder and this a swanton off the top.  Jeff is rolled into the ring and Sammy goes to the top. Sammy hits a shooting star press, but Jeff gets his knees up. It looks like Sammy’s knees came down on Jeff’s face and the doctor is brought into the ring and the match is stopped. 

Jeff gets up and tries for a twist of fate, but Sammy reverses it to a GTS and covers for the pin and the win.

Winner: Sammy Guevara

Jeff is bleeding profusely from his nose and everyone goes to help Jeff. Matt Hardy drives Sammy across the ring as Jeff is helped out of the ring. Sammy is left in the ring and Powerhouse Hobbs slams him as Don Callis watches. 

Renee is with Brian Cage and Prince Nana. Cage says he doesn’t think Hook doesn’t want to be here, and people chanting for Hook pisses him off because they should be cheering for him because he’s a REAL wrestler and next Wednesday, Hook is getting his ass beat.

We then see Private Party in their (empty) party room and they are in the top five, the walk the walk and talk the talk.  

Jon Moxley and Claudio are in the back and Mox says it’s not a good idea to provoke the Blackpool Combat Club, and he calls out FTR. 

Renee is in the back with Ruby Soho and before Ruby can say anything Sarayua and Harley show up, and Saraya says she forgives her. Ruby says that every bad thing that has happened to her was something Saraya has done and she needs space. Saraya says it’s time to end Ruby, and Harley says she’ll use her knife. When Saraya says she’s holding a spoon, Harley uses the old “I see you’ve played knifey spoony before.”  joke

Dustin Rhodes, Ross and Marshall Von Erich vs The Already in the ring Hit, Romero Cruz, Shimbashi.

Everyone on Dustin’s team gets to show a big move and we end with the Von Erichs getting a claw slam and Dustin gets the Final Reckoning for the pin and the win.

Winners: Dustin Rhodes, Ross and Marshall Von Erich

Renee is with Toni Storm, Luther and Mariah May. When asked for her reaction to what Deonna had to say, she puts Mariah in an arm bar and says this is her reaction. She releases the hold and tells Mariah “Good job.”

Queen Aminata vs Anna Jay

They say that Aminata is 5 - 0 on Ring of Honor since she hasn’t won a AEW match yet. 

They shake hands and then lock up collar and elbow. They move to arm bars and then to waistlocks. Animata gets a side headlock takeover and holds Anna down. They work to their feet and Aminata keeps the headlock until they go to the corner. Anna then gets an elbow and then a spin kick in the corner. She follows with a backstabber as we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Aminata lays in a double chop that drops Anna, then hits a snap suplex and then a running kick. Aminata misses a hip attack, Anna misses a kick and Aminata is able to get a bootslide for two. Anna gets a back heel kick and a flatliner for two. Aminata gets a jawbreaker and Anna gets a queenslayer but Aminata is able to roll over for two. Aminata gets a head butt for the pin and the win. 

Winner: Queen Aminata

They hug after the match as it is Aminata’s first AEW win.

In the back, Renee Paquette asks Willow Nightingale about her match where Stokely Hathway interfered. Willow starts to blow up, but Kris Statlnder says it is probably her fault and they all shake hands. Willow says no more cheating. 

Renee is in the back with Ruby Soho and Angelo Parker and Angelo asks to speak to her, so Renee leaves. Angelo gives her a Valentine’s day gift and starts to explain the convoluted story between them, and Ruby cuts him off and says she wants to have a drink with him and he is to pick her up Wednesday night. 

Jay White, Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, and Colton Gunn vs Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Evil Uno, John Silver, and Alex Reynolds

There are 10 minutes left in the show and it’s 12 wrestlers on the apron.  

Lethal and White start off the match with lockups and head locks.  Uno tags in and after getting a chop in the corner, White tags in Colton. Caster is tagged in, he tags out to Bowens and they hit scissor me timbers. This causes the tag team siren to go off and everyone is brawling as we go to picture in picture. 

When we return to full screen, Lethal is working over Austin and Jarrett is tagged in and keeps working him over. Satnam tags in and works over Austin in the corner. Austin bounces all over the ring for him. Satnam tags in Reynolds and Austin tags in Billy, who hits a Famouser, and then everyone gets a finisher move on the last person to get in the ring. Billy and Austin get a 3:10 to Yuma on Reynolds for the pin and the win.  

In the chaos, Billy Gunn knocked Reynolds into White, knocking him off the apron. 

Winners:  Jay White, Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Billy Gunn, Austin Gunn, and Colton Gunn
