COUNTRY MUSIC STAR TOBY KEITH, WHO MADE WWE AND TNA APPEARANCES, PASSES AWAY

By Mike Johnson on 2024-02-06 07:10:00

It was announced overnight that country singer Toby Keith has sadly passed away after a battle with stomach cancer.  He was only 62.

While Keith's legacy will obviously be his music, he did have some connections to professional wrestling.  Keith was good friends with WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett and appeared on the first two NWA: TNA PPVs in June 2022.  On the debut event, Keith performed, only to be interrupted by Jarrett.    That led to Keith coming out later that evening, causing Jarrett's elimination in a Battle Royal to crown a new NWA Champion.  On the promotion's second PPV, Keith and Memphis Wrestling legend Jackie Fargo were in Scott Hall's corner against Jarrett, hitting a low blow on Jarrett to help set up Hall's victory.

In 2013, Jarrett and Keith aligned in an attempt to purchase TNA from Dixie Carter, but the attempt was not successful.

Keith appeared as a Guest Host on  Monday Night Raw back in October 2010:
