By Cory Strode on 2024-02-02 23:23:00

It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite at the UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, LA. Our commentary team is Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.

Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) w/Action Andretti vs Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah “Brother Zay” Kennedy)

Darius and Quen start off. They lock and quickly go to running the ropes Darius whipping Quen to his corner where Dante tags in and they hit a series of double team moves into a two count. Darius tags back in and they keep up the double team moves. Dante keeps Quen from tagging, and Darius tags back in. Quen hits both of them with a drop-kick and Zay tags an and he hits a series of kicks and a backflip to the floor on Dante

Zay grabs a foam king hat )it is New Orleans) and hits an over the top stunner for two. Private Party then hits a series of double team moves on Darius. Quen is able to get a rollup with a hand on the ropes, and Andretti gets on the apron to point it out to the referee. They jack jaws at each other as we go out picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Darius is able to get a flurry of offense to tag in Dante who runs wild. Top Flight works over Zay, who fights both of them until he is able to get the silly string on Dante. Zay hits a beautiful shooting star press for two, broken up by Darius. Darius hits a spear into Zay on the floor. Dante gets a spinning spike on Quen for the pin and the win.

Winners: Top Flight

Fast-paced match with a lot of kicks and high-flying.  A good spot fest. Private Party pats Top Flight on the top of the head instead of giving a handshake.

Renee Paquette is with Sammy Geuvara and he says the loss for the tag team titles a few weeks ago stings more because he wants to provide for hsi family, and he is looking to get revenge on Will Hobbs.

We then get a video of Jeff Jarrett’s team and Jay Lethal shows up ready to work out, and no one will be working out with him. Jarrett says Jay is too damn nice and he needs to be more ruthless.

Darby Allin comes out to join commentary.

Ricky Starks and Big Bill (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs Dark Order (Alex Reynolds and John Silver) w/Evil Uno in an eliminator match

Silver and Reynolds attack as the bell rings and they drag Starks to their corner to work him over with quick tags. Silver power bombs Starks into Reynold’s knees after a blind tag for two. Starks is able to break away and tag in Big Bill, who cleans house. As Bill is beating Reynolds down, Uno gets on the apron. Bill attacks him, and Reynolds is able to knock Bill to the floor. Bill cuts off a dive from Reynolds, but Silver follows with a cannonball off the apron.

Dark Order works over Bill on the floor and roll him into the ring after running him into the ringpost. Reynolds lays in kicks on Bill, but Bill is able to get a spinning slam and tags in Starks. Silver is tagged in and well and Starks is able to slam Silver. He poses and Ryanolds takes advantage of it to attack. Starks walks the top rope and knocks Reynolds out of the ring. Starks is tripped by Uno and he gets revenge with a big clothesline on Uno on the floor.

Starks lays into Silver with kicks and hits the Rochambeau for the pin and the win.

Winners: Ricky Starks and Big Bill

Darby does not light the world on fire with his low-key commentary.

Renee is with Hobbs and Don Callis.  Don is sick of hearing about Sammy’s family, and Sammy is not hunting Will Hobbs, Will Hobbs is hunting him. Hobbs says he has a family as well, and Sammy better hope he doesn’t see Sammy first.

Willow Nightingale w/Kris Statlander and Stokely Hathaway vs Queen Aminata

They lock up and move to arm bars. Willow finally gets a slam, and they run the ropes with Willow getting a shoulder tackle. Aminata gets a rollup for two. Willow gets a scoop slam and then a cross body for two. Willow hits a pair of short arm clotheslines, and they move to fighting in the corner as Willow gets a drop-kick from the second rope and Aminata goes to the floor. Willow sets up for a senton off the apron, but Aminata sweeps the legs. This leads to picture in picture.

When they come back to full screen, Willow hits a body check in the corner, a lariat and a snap mare. Willow hits a back boot and then hits a cannonball in the corner, but Aminata dodges it. Aminata gets a kick and a cover for two. Aminata gets a German suplex in the middle of the ring. Aminata goes for a hip attack in the corner, but Willow dodges, and then hits Aminata with a cannonball.

Willow hits a Death Valley Driver for two. Willow hits a doctor bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Willow Nightingale

Solid match, and they keep saying Queen Aminata is getting good efforts, but she needs to start getting a win here and there or the fans will think she can’t win.

They do a bit afterward where Willow and Kris Statlander try to get Hathaway to dance, but he isn’t interested in doing so.

Renee is in the back with Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta, and Rocky Romero. Orange says he knew if he asked for time Roderick Strong and his friends would show up. And they do. Cassidy says he is sick of Roddy and his people and wants to fight. So, next week, there will be a three on three match.

Next, Renee is with Willow, Kris, and Stokely and Harley, Saraya, and Ruby Soho show up and Willow challenges them to a match next week on Rampage.

  • Menard and Parker double team Dorada. They knock the Luchadors off the apron and tag in Sydal, who they whip into Dorada and they follow him in.

  • Sydal covers for two. Sydal then locks on a bow and arrow submission as we go to picture in picture.

  • When we return to full screen, Dorada has been the “babyface in peril” the entire break.

  • Dorada is able to get a tejaris on Sydal and a corkscrew kick on Parker before getting the tag to Hechicero and Daniels tags in as well.

  • Hechicero works over Daniels and then it is time for each person to hit a finisher on the last person until Daniels gets a backslide followed by a flatliner.

  • The tag team siren goes off and everyone is fighting in the ring.

  • Leaps and flips for everyone until Dorada leaps onto everyone on the floor.

  • Daniels tries for Angels’ wings on Hechicero, who powers out of it, then Hechicero rolls Daniels around the ring before pinning Daniels for three
