Welcome to the TNA Impact on AXS TV report!
The episode began with a graphic paying tribute to the late Frankie Ciatso. You can donate to the Go Fund Me assisting his family at this link.
TNA then ran a recap of everything that brought us to this week.
We have a new “Cross the Line” opening!
TNA Tag Team Champion Chris Bey vs. Kevin Knight
Very good back and forth action to kick the bout off. Knight nailed a nice armdrag that sent Bey to the floor. Knight went for a dive but missed. He returned to the apron, where Bey snapped him across the ropes. Knight made a comeback and hit a big splash into the buckles. He attacked Bey’s arm and scored a two count after a nice brainbuster. Bey moved out of the way of an attempted Frog Splash and nailed an enziguiri. He drilled Knight with an elbow and scored the pin with the Art of Finesse.
Your winner, Chris Bey!
Good action bell to bell.
The Grizzled Young Vets attacked Bey. Ace Austin tried to intercede but was laid out.
They aired a promotional video for Ash by Elegance.
TNA aired a recap of Kazarian turning last week and attacking Eric Young. Backstage, Kazarian said he’ll explain himself next week. Rich Swann confronted Kaz. Kazarian told Swann he should think about doing what Kaz is doing because he’s got nothing to show for himself.
Kaz walked away and Swann turned into AJ Francis. Francis mocked Swann, saying they met five year ago on a flight but Swann still sits in the back row while Francis only flies first class.
Dirty Dango & Oleg Prudius vs. Dante King & Drake
Squash city.
Your winners, Dirty Dango & Oleg Prudius!
Backstage, The Grizzled Young Vets are told that a Best of Three Series for the TNA Tag Team Championship will commence next week by Santino Marella.
Backstage, Gia Miller interviewed the Motor City Machine Guns and Kazuchika Okada, who returns to TNA for the first time in many years. They promise to show the world what TNA really is. I bet Okada never thought he’d be saying that when he left last time!
TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Trinity
This was absolutely awesome. Trinity may have had the best two matches of her life against Grace over the last few weeks.
The crowd was into this before the bell even sounded, chanting for the Knockouts. They shook hands but then immediately went to war with forearm strikes and kicks.
Trinity tried to snatch Grace in Starstruck early but Grace was able to force the break by making it to the ropes. Grace cut off the challenger’s momentum with a big spinebuster. She went to the corner but Trinity met her there. Grace got the better of the exchange, sending Trinity crashing to the mat and nailing a Vader Bomb.
They battled back and forth. Trinity scored an enziguii and used the ropes to drive Grace into the mat for a two count, They battled to the top, where Grac scored with a superplex and nailed the Juggernaut Jackhammer, scoring a close near fall.
They fire up, going back and forth with strikes. Grace got the better of the exchange and dared Trinity to come at her. This fired her up but she couldn’t get Starstruck. Grace went to the ropes and snatched her in the muscle buster. Trinity evaded it and hit a sunset flip off the top for a two count. They went into a series of back and forth pinfall attempts and reversals before Grace trapped Trinity and scored the pin. SO GOOD!
Your winner and still TNA Knockouts Champion, Jordynne Grace!
These women left it all out there and it was wonderful.
Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans and Jordynne Grace attacked and laid out everyone.
Backstage, The System cut a promo saying they will prove tonight that The System works when they defeat Okada and The Guns.
Backstage, Josh Alexander said that he’s living the dream he’s had since he was a teenager, getting to compete inside a TNA ring. He beat Will Ospreay, so he’s now a World Beater. Alan Angels showed up and said he’s going to have a new talk show, The Sound Check next week. Josh will be his first guest.
They pushed Nick Nemeth’s match as being his first outside of WWE, which is pretty crazy when you think about what a long career he’s had.
Nic Nemeth vs. Zach Wentz
The Las Vegas crowd was super into Nemeth, chanting “Wanted Man.”
They locked up and Wentz kept trying to slip out but ate a dropkick to the face. Nemeth had control but Trey Miguel tripped him. Wentz nailed a knee and cinched in a surfboard variation as Nemeth fought to come from behind. He scored with a leaping in the corner and then hit a Rude Awakening.
Wentz evaded a charge in the corner and rolled up Nemeth, hooking the tights but still couldn’t get the three count. Nemeth nailed a leaping DDT. They battled back and forth until Nemeth snatched him with The Danger Zone (Zig Zag) for the pin.
Your winner, Nick Nemeth!
Good action.
Miguel tried to attack but was hit with The Danger Zone. Steve Macklin attacked but ate one as well.
TNA Digital Media Champion Crazzy Steve cut a promo saying he was held back by Tommy Dreamer and will now scar the history books of the company. Rhino wanted a title bout.
They aired a promotional video on Decay being back.
MK Ultra vs. Dani Luna & Jody Threat
Dani Luna and Masha Slamovich battled back and forth with some nice back and forth ction. Threat tagged in and scored several near falls. Masha and Killer Kelly gain control and nail a double-team powerbomb, scoring the pin on Theat.
Your winners, MK Ultra!
They nail the double-team powerbomb on Luna as well.
A short but solid bout showcasing all four.
The Motor City Machine Guns & Kazuchika Okada vs. TNA Champion Moose & Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards
Vegas went nuts for the entrances.
Tom Hannifan basically stated that Okada hated being with the company when he was there last time but loves the current version.
Eddie Edwards and Alex Shelley start out, battling back and forth with Shelley focusing his attack on Edwards’ arm. Sabin tags in. Everyone gets involved and Okada and Moose face off. Are they teasing a future title match? Okada went for the Rainmaker but Moose avoided it.
The Guns doubleteam Edwards with a series of double-team maneuvers. Okada tags in and attacked the legs with a series of elbow drops and follows up with a Dragon Screw Legwhip. Myers tags in and gains control on Shelley, cinching in a rear chinlock. Sabin tagged in and ended up taking out every member of The System with big moves.
The Guns have a miscommunication and Sabin catches Shelley in the corner with a running big boot. Sabin nails a flying bodypress on Myers and Edwards. Okada and Moose tag back in and battle. Moose eats a big DDT and is hit with a Air Raid Crash for a close two count.
Okada nailed a flying elbow and set up for The Rainmaker, which Moose evaded but still got walloped with a big dropkick. Moose rebounded with a big one of his own. Everyone battles. Myers goes for the Roster Cut but Okada gets out of it and nails the Rainmaker. Myers is nailed with Shellshock and pinned.
Your winners, Kazuchika Okada & The Motor City Machine Guns!
Some fun wrestling!
After the show “went off the air”, there was a stinger revealing Mustafa Ali is on his way to TNA.
Two weeks in, they are in a nice groove and the strategy of giving the main events a lot of time has paid off well. A nice mix of everything.
Scheduled for next's edition of TNA Impact on AXS TV:
*TNA Tag Team Champions ABC vs. Grizzled Young Vets.
*Nic Nemeth vs. Trey Miguel.
*Brian Myers vs. Kevin Knight.
*Frankie Kazarian explains his actions.
