OKADA'S FINAL KORAKUEN HALL BOUT & MORE: 1/24 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:

They announced that Jado will be replacing El Phantasmo in the second match due to illness.

1 - Tiger Mask vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

Zack forces Tiger Mask to tap out to an arm submission.

This was Zack getting a warm up match ahead of his showdown with Bryan Danielson.

2 - Ryusuke Taguchi, Jado and Hikuleo vs. Taiji Ishimori, KENTA and Chase Owens

Ishimori got caught in Jado's Crossface but he reversed it into a cradle pin.   Ishimori pins Jado.

3 - Tomoaki Honma, YOH, El Desperado and Tama Tonga vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru, Yujiro Takahashi, SHO and EVIL

This will be Tama Tonga's final appearance in Korakuen Hall as he finishes up with New Japan.   He hugged all this partners as they were introduced to the crowd.   

Big chants for Tama from the crowd.

EVIL pins Honma after hitting Everything is Evil.

After the match, SHO poses with the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight belt.   Kanemaru hits Desperado in the back.   SHO hits Desperado with the belt.   SHO takes off Desperado's mask.   The crowd boos like crazy.   Tama, YOH and Honma make the save.   Tama covers Desperado's face as they leave the ringside area.

4 - Callum Newman, Francesco Akira, TJP, HENARE and Great O-Khan vs. Drilla Moloney, Clark Conners, Gabe Kidd, Alex Coughlin and David Finlay

United Empire attacks Bullet Club War Dogs before they get to the ring.  Wild brawl.  

Conners pins Akira after a No Chaser.   

The fight continues and War Dogs beat down Newman and Akira.   War Dogs used chairs and weapons to beat down United Empire.   Drilla threatened to stab Akira in the face with a scissors, until O-Khan and TJP made the save.

5 - BUSHI, Yota Tsuji and Shingo Takagi vs. TAKA Michinoku, Yuya Uemura and Taichi

Takagi pins TAKA after a powerbomb.

Tsuji and Uemura continued to fight after the match and they had to be separated.    Takagi and Taichi have words.    Looks like they will be feuding too.

6 -  Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito vs. DOUKI and SANADA

DOUKI rolls Hiromu into a pin with a Jorge Rivera Special.

Nice win for DOUKI.  Hiromu was so upset that he got pinned and apologized to Naito.

7 - NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championship Match:  Tomohiro Ishii, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Kosei Fujita, Mikey Nichols and Shane Haste

Chants for Okada began before he even came out.

Ishii and Tanahashi open the ropes for Okada as he entered the ring.   Okada was emotional as he acknowledged the crowd.   

Okada and Fujita start the match and quickly go to the floor.  Fujita fought back against the champions, with both Tanahashi and Ishii tagging in to beat on Fujita.   Back and forth match.    TMDK hit two Tank Busters on Ishii.   Two count.  TMDK go for a Tank Buster on Tanahashi but Ishii saves him.  Okada and Fujita tag in.   They trade strikes.  Okada kicks Fujita in the head.  Fujita with a running chop and a springboard drop kick.  Fujita kicks Okada in the head.  Okada hits a stiff elbow.  Fujita takes down Okada and applies a leg submission with a chin lock.   Tanahashi makes the save.   Okada applies the Money Clip.   Haste and Nichols breaks up the submission and hits a suplex and neckbreaker.   Fujita with a Deadlift German.  Two count.   Okada hits his own German and a dropkick to Fujita's face.    Okada hits short arm lariats.  Fujita counters with a roll up and a bridge.   Two count.  Tanahashi and Ishii get back in the ring.  Fujita fights all three.  

Tanahashi hits a Slingblade.  Ishii with a Sliding Lariat.  Tanahashi and Ishii hit Haste and Nichols off the ring.  Okada hits another dropkick on Fujita. Okada hits top rope elbow.  Okada gives Korakuen Hall a final Rainmaker Pose.   Okada hits the Rainmaker.

Okada pins Fujita

Okada, Tanahashi, and Ishii retain the NEVER Openweight 6-man Tag Team Championship.

Kazuchika Okada ends his final night at Korakuen Hall with a victory.   

Okada shakes hands with Haste, Nichols and Zack Sabre Jr.    Huge chant for Okada.  Okada gets the mic and gets emotional as he thanks the fans of Korakuen.   Okada thanks Tanahashi and Ishii for being good partners.   He announced that he will vacate his position on the team.  He thanks the fans for 17 years of support.  

We shall see who will replace Okada on the team with Ishii and Tanahashi.

8 - Shota Umino vs. Ren Narita

No House of Torture at ringside.

Umino attacks Narita before the bell.   Umino takes the fight to the floor and smashes him into the guardrails.  The referee is allowing both men to use weapons.   Both men were really stiff with their strikes and they beat the crap out of each other.   Umino goes for a Death Rider but Narita escapes to the floor.  Umino chases Narita but Narita suplexed him through a table.   Both men were exhausted on the floor.  Narita was bleeding from the elbow and back.   Both men were almost counted out.  Narita hits a running knee strike.  Narita hits a top rope knee strike.  Narita applies a Cobra Twist.  Umino reverses and hits a DDT.  Umino hits a Tornado DDT and an Impact DDT.   Narita kicks out.

House of Torture jump into the ring.  They take turns beating down Umino.   SHO is about to hit Umino with his wrench.  Lights go out.  Tama Tonga  makes the save.   EVIL hits a low blow on Tama.   SHO tries to hit Tama with the wrench.   El Desperado stops SHO.  Tama hits a Gun Stun on EVIL.   Desperado plants SHO with a Pinche Loco.

Umino and Narita  are left in the ring.  Umino hits a Half and Half suplex.  Two count.  Narita grabs Umino in a rear naked choke.  Umino hits a stiff elbow and another spinning DDT.   Two count.   Umino hits the Blitz Blade then a Death Rider.

Umino pins Narita.

30+ minute match.  Both men were hurt and exhausted.   Great stuff.   

Desperado addressed the crowd, he said he would not defend the title against SHO and passed the mic to Tama Tonga.   Big chant for Tama.   Tama tells Umino that he is proud of him.   He asked him to beat EVIL for the NEVER Openweight Title.   Tama tells the crowd that he loves him.

Umino takes the mic and says thank you to Desperado and Tama.   He says Tama that he will do what he asks and will take EVIL's title.

This was great.   Umino and Narita may be done, but they set up Umino for his first title run for the NEVER Title.
