It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston NC. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Don Callis, and Ian Riccabonni.
Chris Jericho vs Matt Sydal
They lock up collar and elbow and break immediately. They lock up again and Jericho gets a side headlock. Sydal shoots him into the ropes and Jericho hits a shoulder tackle. They run the ropes and Sydal gets a tijeras and then clotheslines Jericho over the top. Sydal barely hits a baseball slide and then a meteora from the apron. Jericho is rolled into the ring and Sydal hits a meteora from the top for two. Sydal charges at Jericho, who drops him with a clothesline.
Jericho hits a belly to back suplex and then lays in chops in the corner. Sydal fires back, but Jericho drops him for the walls of Jericho. Sydal crawls to the ropes for the break and Jericho pulls him back. Jericho hits a dropkick from the second rope and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, they are firing chops at each other in the middle of the ring. Sydal gets a kick to Jericho and then a leaping kick and whips Jericho into the ropes. Jericho hits a shoulder tackle and Sydal whips him over the top rope to the apron. Jericho runs to the top turnbuckle and leaps right into a kick from Sydal, who then hits a standing twisting moonsault for two.
Sydal goes to the top and Jericho cuts him off as they fight on the top. Sydal gets a power slam after dropping to the mat for two. Sydal leaps off the second rope into a codebreaker for two. Jericho lays in chops and Sydal runs the ropes, hitting a sloppy spinning rollup for two. Jericho hits a fireman’s slam and hits a lionsault, but Sydal gets the knees up. Sydal gets an air raid crash for two.
Sydal lays in chops in the corner and he and Jericho trade blows and go to the top. Jericho hits a hurricanrana from the top. Jericho then hits the Judas Effect for the pin and the win.
Winner: Chris Jericho
After the match Takeshita attacks Jericho on the ramp, and they are pulled apart.
Takeshita drops Christopher Daniels as one of the security people and Jericho helps him up and Takeshita is forced backstage.
Don Callis leaves commentary and is replaced with Matt Menard.
Penta w/Alex Abrahantes vs The Already in the ring Anthony Henry
Henry calls for Penta to meet him in the middle of the ring and Penta does the Zero Fear in his face and Henry shoves him back. They run the ropes, and Penta kicks Henry when Henry tries to roll backward for an attack. Henry gets a backstabber and then a quick suplex out of the corner for two. Henry charges into the kick from Penta in the corner, and Penta follows with a spinning Spicoli driver for two.
Penta nails Henry with chops and goes for the Made in Japan, but Henry rolls through into a two count. Henry gets in a few kicks, and Penta throws chops until they are each nailing the other, and Henry gets a Death Valley driver for two. Henry goes to the top and misses a stomp, and Penta suplexes Henry into the corner. Penta hits the fear factor for the pin and the win.
Winner: Penta
In the back, Renee Paquette see Ruby Soho and Saraya are arguing, and Harley Cameron shows. Ruby grabs her by the throat and asks why she went after Anthony Parker. Harley says, with silent coaching from behind by Saraya, that Anna Jay was involved in it. As Ruby and Harley take off, Saraya tells Renee not to look at her like that.
Kris Statlander vs Queen Aminata
Statlander is followed by Stokely Hathaway and she’s not pleased with him coming to the ring with him.
They lock up and Kris gets a side headlock and Aminita turns it into an arm bar that she twists and turns. She turns it into a side headlock and Statlander turns it into an arm bar. Aminata turns it into an arm drag and they each sweep the other’s legs. They then grab each other’s leg and then slowly puts the leg down. Aminata gets a quick rollup for two. The story being told is that Hathaway is distracting Statlander with his cheerleading for her.
Statlander gets a shoulder tackle, but Aminata gets a spinning head scissors that Statlander cartwheels out of. Aminata follows with a snap mare into a kick. Statlander grabs a quick rollup for two. Statlander spins Aminata’s legs out from under her and hits a senton for two. Statlander charges and leaps out of the ring because of a low bridge, and Aminata follows up with a dive and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Aminata and Statlander are throwing hands in the middle of the ring, and Statlander gets a German suplex, followed by a second and Aminata rolls out of the ring. They brawl on the floor and then roll into the ring. Aminata gets a rollup for two. And then follows with a swinging neckbreaker. Aminata gets a hip attack and then a kick in the corner for two.
Aminata gets a crossface, but Statlander powers to her feet and tries to set up for the Friday Night Fever, but Aminata pulls her down for a rollup for two. Statlander hits a lariat for two. Statlander hits her first charge into Aminata in the corner, but misses the second and Aminata is able to get a running knee strike. Statlander is able to get out of an air raid crash, hits a power slam and then a spinning powerbomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Kris Statlander
Statlander blows off celebrating with Hathaway.
Renee is in the back with where Kris and Stokely are talking, and Willow shows up late and says her flight was canceled. Hathaway says that if she cared so much about Kris, she would have been on a better airline. . This degenerates into an argument where Statlander tells everyone to just shut up and they will have to figure this out.
Jeff Hardy vs Darby Allin
They don’t rush to start and then meet in the middle of the ring with what you think will be a handshake, and Hardy slaps Darby instead. Darby hits him with a dropkick and Hardy rolls to the floor. Darby hits a dropkick from the apron and rolls Hardy into the ring for a two count. Hardy rolls to the floor, and when Darby follows, he tosses Darby into the announce table. They brawl all around the ring.
Darby sets Hardy in a chair, gets into the ring to dive, but Hardy dives out of the way. They go to picture in picture, and when they return to full screen, they are in the ring with Hardy getting a neck breaker back and forth. He hits a third and then hits a stalling facebuster for two. Hardy puts Darby on the top and they throw hands on the top. Darby hits a code red from the top for two.
Darby crawls to the corner and goes to the top for the coffin drop. Hardy rolls out of the way before Darby drops. Hardy goes to the corner from the apron and then gets a neck breaker on the apron. Hardy pulls out a table from under the ring. Hardy runs Darby into the ringpost. Hardy puts Darby on the table, then goes to the top. Hardy hits a swanton from the top through the table, but Darby gets out of the way.
Darby rolls Hardy into the ring, and then goes to the top. Darby hits a coffin drop, but Hardy gets his knees up. Darby pulls himself to his feet by the ropes as does Hardy. Darby is able to block the Twist of Fate and hits a jack knife for the pin and the win.
Winner: Darby Allin.
Darby calls for a double fist bump, but Hardy blows him off.
