By Mike Johnson & Steven Fernandes on 2024-01-16 01:29:00

Actor Paul Walter Hauser mentioned a number of professional wrestlers during his acceptance speech last night after winning an Primetime Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor - Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for his great performance in the AppleTV+ mini-series Black Bird as Larry Hall, an incarcerated serial killer.

During his speech, Hauser referenced The Wolfpac, mentioned the phrase "Get the Tables" and namedropped both Diamond Dallas Page and Kota Ibushi.

In what has to be a first-ever occurence, Hauser also plugged that he was about "to beat Matt Cardona." a reference to the fact that he'll be wrestling Cardona at the 3/16 Wrestling Revolver event in Clive, Iowa live on TrillerTV.

Hauser, who has a ton of great credits to his name, is a massive pro wrestling fan, having made cameos on AEW programming and The Roast of Ric Flair in the past.   In his AEW appearances, he carried a Golden Globe Award, which he also won for his Black Bird role.

Hauser made his independent pro wrestling debut in November 2023, defeating Matthew Palmer at a Wrestling Revolver event that aired live on TrillerTV.

In another pro-wrestling adjacent note, actor Jeremy Allen White, who portrays Kerry Von Erich in The Iron Claw, won Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Bear on Hulu.
