STOKELY STAND UP SHOW SELLS OUT, SAMOA JOE TALKS AEW TITLE RUN AND MORE

Tomorrow's Character Select Comedy stand-up show featuring Kyle Lewis, Ryan Nemeth, Stokely Hathaway, Dan Barry and more has sold out in advance:

AEW Champion Samoa Joe discussed winning the belt with SportsIllustrated's Justin Barrasso.  Joe commented, "“I really want to make a focus of getting the fans’ attention back on the conflict in the ring, and a lot of the petty stuff needs to melt away. Let’s get back to entertaining people.”

Samoa Joe vs. Hook this Wednesday will be sponsored by forthcoming DC video game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.  Joe voices King Shark in the game.

Adam Copeland discussed his role on Disney+'s Percy Jackson series with USA Today.  On whether Hollywood is more accepting of professional wrestlers in acting roles now, Copeland commented, "Yes, and not just for "Oh, we need someone to do a big fight scene." Dwayne, John and Dave have really broken down some boundaries, without a doubt. Especially the choices that Dave's making: That's a guy who's built like the incredible Hulk but can still play an endearing, compassionate character. They all can.  Hollywood's starting to understand that we're trained to do a lot of different things that come in very, very handy. I also think movies like “The Iron Claw” (help), hearing the actors in that movie understand, for lack of a better term, the art form that professional wrestling is. All the plates you're keeping in the air while doing your own stunts and possibly having to fill 10 minutes of time on live television with a microphone, that's a skill set."
