AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

It is Friday and this week, AEW Rampage was recorded after Dynamite at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone.

Eddie Kingston (AEW Continental Champion) vs Wheeler Yuta 

Yuta dodges a lockup and then bails from the ring. He gets back in and they lock up with waistlocks. They move to mat wrestling and Eddie working an arm bar. Yuta grabs a leg bar as Eddie grabs the bottom rope. They lock up again and Yuta takes Eddie down and works into a submission hold followed by a one count. 

They break and move to arm bars into mat wrestling and again Eddie goes to a rope break. Edei lays in a kick and Yuta shoots Eddie to the floor and follows with a dive. They brawl on the apron and Yuta comes off the top with a cross body for two. They fight in the corner and Yuta comes off the top with an arm bar on Eddie, and then wraps Eddie’s arm in the rope for a count of four. 

Eddie escapes to the floor and Yuta follows and they brawl around the ring, with Yuta concentrating on the shoulder he started on. They fight up the ramp and to the stage. When they return to the ring, Yuta keeps working the arm and shoulder. Yuta takes Eddie down for a two count and then locks up a butterfly stretch on the mat. Eddie works to his feet and gets an arm drag, and Yuta follows with a drop kick and a two count as we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Yuta is still working over Eddie’s arm. Eddie starts to fight back with chops and kicks, with Yuta stopping him with an arm drag. Eddie is able to capture Yuta’s arms for a belly to belly suplex. Yuta leaps off the top into an exploder suplex by Eddie. Eddie then hits a DDT for two. They move to the corner, where Yutas goes to the top and Eddie throws chops. Eddie heads to the top with Yuta and Yuta gets a diving DDT for two.

Yuta works over Eddie with the hammer and anvil elbows. Yuta then tries for the cross armbreaker, but Eddie rolls through to grab the ropes. Yuta keeps control of the wrist and kicks Eddie’s arm. On their feet, Eddie starts hitting chops. Yuta gets a German suplex with a bridge for two. 

Eddie escapes a waistlock for an insigiri. Yuta hits a suplex, goes to the top and hits a splash on Eddie for two. Yuta goes for a wristlock and Eddie works to his feet and into the ropes for a break. Yuta starts kicking Eddie’s arm, but Eddie grabs him and hits a suplex. Eddie hits a backfist with the injured arm, and Yuta doesn’t fall. Eddie then hits a half and half suplex, follows with a northern lights bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner and still Continental Champion: Eddie Kingston

Great wrestling match with Yuta as the aggressor and Eddie as the fighter who just won’t quit.  Not any big high spots, just a well worked wrestling match. 

In the back, Renee Paquette is with Matt and Jeff Hardy and Mark Briscoe and Mark says he’s got a good feeling he ain’t done yet. Jeff says their team up got big ratings, Matt says they see some Trios matching in their future. Jeff gives Mark a Hardy Boyz necklace. 

Swerve Strickland w/The Mogul Embassy Vs the Already In The Ring Matt Sydal

They lock up collar and elbow and Swerve tossed Sydal across the ring. Sydal gets a head scissors takedown, but Swerve goes with it and lands on his feet. Sydal gets a surprise rollup for two. Swerve does the same for two. Sydal does it again for two. Swerve hits Sydal with a tilt-a-while back breaker. Swerve nails Sydal with a back elbow dive off the second rope. Swerve puts Sydal in a fireman’s carry and drops down twice before allowing Sydal to roll off onto the mat. 

Swerve hits a pose for the crowd and covers for two. Swerved works over Sydal’s back with blows and when he picks up, Sydal gets a hurricanrana and a leaping knee. Sydal goes for a kick and Swerve grabs the leg. He hits Sydal with a back breaker. Sydal gets a roundhouse kick and a air raid crash for two. Swerve hits a rolling flatliner. He follows with a vertical suplex, and then goes to the top and misses the stomp. 

Swerve stops Sydal from doing a reverse sunset flip and hits him with the JML driver for the pin and the win.

Winner: Swerve Strickland

Renee is with Top Flight and Action Andretti, and they are interrupted by Private Party who challenge any two of them. 

Queen Aminada vs Hikaru Shida

They lock up and Aminada forces them into the ropes. They run the ropes and Shida tries for a shoulder block, but Amiada doesn’t move. Shida is able to drop her with the second shoulder tackle. Shida is able to get ten blows on Aminada in the corner. They fight in the opposite corner and Aminada gets a hip attack in the corner followed by a boot to Shida’s head. 

They move to the floor when Aminada gets a chop as we go to picture in picture. When we return to full screen, Aminada hits a snap mare and kicks to the back. Shida is able to return fire and tells Aminada to do her back. Aminada kicks and does the same. Shida again calls for the attack and ASminada hits a series of kicks. Shida hits a dragon screw and a suplex for two. 

They throw blows back and forth and Aminada hits a German suplex. Shida hits a short arm lariat. Shida tries for a slam and can’t get Aminada up, and Aminada hits a running knee for two. Amoinada goes to the top and Shida dodges. Shida hits a jumping knee and hits a falcon arrow for two. Shida hits the katana kick for the pin and the win.

Winner: Hikaru Shida

This was a match to raise Aminada’s profile by letting her go 50/50 with Shida. We’ll see fi they do anything with it.

We get a recap of last week’s match between FTR and House of Black on Collision. 

Renee Paquette is with Ruby Soho and Sayara, Saraya says that Harley Cameron is not here because she has footage of Harley and Angelo Parker, but there’s no sound. She pauses it when they kiss, and Parker comes into the shot with a cake. Ruby shoves the cake in Parker’s face and leaves. Saraya tells Parker she always wins and Parker says it’s not what it looks like.  

The Main Event

The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, and John Silver) w/-1 vs Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, and Jake Hager

Parker, still covered in cake, starts with Silver and Silver gets an arm bar and tastes the cake. They run the ropes and Reynolds gets a shoulder tackle. Silver returns the favor. Hager tags in and gets a big boot. Meynard tags in and gets a shoulder tackle. Silver escapes and tags in Reynolds. This leads to all of the Dark Order staying in the ring to fight people. Dark Order triple teams Menard as we go to picture in picture.

When they return to full screen, Reynolds has been worked over through most of the break. Reynolds is able to escape and tag in Evil Uno, who cleans house. Uno ends it with a senton from the top onto Parker for two Parker nails Uno with a strike and Silver tags in. He and Parker run the ropes and he drops Parker, gets a cannonball off the apron onto Hager and nails Menard. 

Back into the ring, Silver suplexes Parker and the Dark Order get into the ring and hit the pendulum bomb for a two count, broken up by Menard. Menard knocks Silver off the top, and everyone gets into the ring. Hager hits a Hager bomb on Reynolds for two. -1 grabs Hager’s hat and as Menard and Parker chase him outside the ring, Uno clotheslines them. Hager gets his hat back and Silver and Reynolds hits a series of back and forth attacks to drop hager for the pin and the win.

Winners: Dark Order
