SUKEBAN UPDATES: NEXT LIVE EVENT, INVESTORS INTERESTED, WHAT THE PROMOTION IS HOPING TO CAPITALIZE ON AND MORE

Some updates on joshi puroresu promotion Sukeban:

On the heels of their second live event in Miami, where the promotion received a lot of mainstream media attention running over Art Basel week (drawing over 2,000 fans), there's been a raised awareness of the company incorporating different crossover and promotional ideas to bring a different audience outside of the traditional wrestling fan base.

PWInsider.com has been told by sources in Japan that there have been investors from Japan who have approached the company about getting involved, seeing the social media engagement and the attention from The New York Times, Vogue and other outlets.  We are told that the promotion's unique production elements, including costumes, makeup, nails and the design of the promotion's Championship belt all being conceptualized and created by big names in the art and fashion circles as well as their street fair atmosphere with food and drinks have been seen as unique ways to reinvent the live event experience and a way to bridge both joshi and overall Japanese culture and export it in a big potential way to the mainstream here in the States while also celebrating it back in Japan.

The hope is that by being able to tap into a different audience at the same time there have been so many positive trends in women's sports (National Women's Soccer League and Women's March Madness recently signing major rights fees), Sukeban can build its own original intellectual property and promote/license it through live sports rights, fashion deals, potential anime content and other revenue streams.

There's no word at this point what sort of capital Sukeban is seeking to raise.  The promotion is nearing 50,000 TikTok followers (it has live streamed its events on that platform) and has been active producing both live and anime content from the United States and Japan.  The promotion has sold out both of its live events thus far.  The third event from the promotion is currently slated for this Spring in Los Angeles and there's been talk of a NYC return as well.

We are also told by sources in Japan the promotion is looking to sign additional talents and is paying close attention to what talents may becoming available in the coming months.
