WRESTIVAL DAY THREE - 12/30 ETU WRESTLING REPORT

ETU Wrestling  “No Half Speed”

12/30/23 Worcester, MA

Wrestival Day 3 noon

Bobby Banks is your announcer. After last night, I don’t know what to expect anymore.

Match 1: Davey Bang & August Matthews vs Above the Rest (Gabe Sky & Tristan Thai)

This is a wild one. Hard hitting opener. So glad to see Thai back in here. Bang and Matthews outflying AtR here. Absolutely sick double double stomp to the back off the top rope. ATR finishes off Bang with a ridiculous combo of knees strikes and lays him to rest with a launch into a running knee for the three. 

Winners: Above the Rest

 Match 2: Team ETU (Brandon Kirk, Dezmond Cole, Landon Hale & Yoya) vs Team New Blood (Alan Angels, Brooke Havoc, Sabin Gauge & Sam Holloway)

What are Dragon Gate rules? This match is ridiculously stacked. The name of the show is on display here. All go, no slow. Holloway is a huge man and he just dove to the floor like he was the new generation’s Mike Awesome. Hale flying high and using Brook as a weapon. This Holloway guy is mad impressive. Kirk folds Havoc with a pump handle piledriver. Hale with a reverse Spanish fly off the top! Boofa comes down on Sabin to win the match for ETU!

Winners: Team ETU

 Match 3: Kevin Blackwood vs Joshua Bishop

Bishop is looking like full on Psycho Sid these days. Love it. Blackwood has to pump up a little to deal with this intensity….it doesn’t matter. Bishop is just manhandling and beating the hell out of Blackwood. Kevin is hitting some hard chops but Bishop just crumbles him to the mat repeatedly. Bishop staggered! Blackwood with a superplex! This rally doesn’t last for long as Bishop absorbs strikes and destroys Kevin with a black hole slam. Headbutts! Blackwood knees free of a chokeslam! DVD for two!  Bishop hits the chokeslam…Blackwood out at one! Bishop with a crucifix powerbomb toss and Blackwood crashes to earth for the three. God. Damn. This was a beautiful beatdown.

 Match 4: The High Flying Star Machines (Bojack, BK Westbrook & Diego Hill) vs Miracle Ones (Dustin Waller, Kylon King & Ichiban)

This should be a blast. Loving the Miracle Generation’s new gear. Great scramble for pinfalls between BK and KK. Jesus, Diego Hill and Ichiban’s opening sequence makes me hungry for a full match there. And then Flash has to fight Bojack and he bounces right off the big hoss. Bojack really is the difference maker here. A Miracle One takes a huge hit and then BK and Hill swarm in. Dustin, Kylon and Ichiban all fall into this terrible trap. Ichiban with a stunner on Bojack and that barely fazes him. Great launch senton legdrop combo from BK and Hill. The HFSM sent to the floor, Flash with a huge dive! Hill caught in the corner and eats a toss to a German for two. King thinks he’s gonna German Bojack. Hill launched into a dropkick on king and bonack makes the cover. Ichiban and Flash have to make the save. Triple superkick to bojack! They can’t keep him down. Ichiban caught by bojack….spine buster and a lariat! BK shooting star…kick out! Destroyer to BK….huge waterfall of big shots all along! King lands the German on Bojack! WOW! BK eats a double doomsday seated senton and they triple stack him for the pin!

Winners: Miracle Ones

It’s time for Alec Price to defend the IWTV against a mystery opponent. He’s furious that he hasn’t defended the title yet. It’s disrespectful to the champ. Who did ETU and the Stuggles stack up for him to knock down before tomorrow??? 

It’s….J Boujii? 

It’s also Tommy Vendetta???

“Is that it?” Says Price

Match 5: Alec Price(c) vs J Bouji vs Traevon Jordan vs Tommy Vendetta (fatal 4-way for the IWTV Independent Wrestling Championship)

I don’t trust that this is the entire match. But this is gonna be a wild warmup for Alec. I think everyone in Worcester is looking for Boujii to take this pin. Traevon rips his mouth he put a bit and eats it after calling him short. That was nice. Great swinging side slam! Vendetta landing some hard chops into the champ. Everyone wants a piece of Price. Vendetta tower of dooms Jordan and Boujii. Price with a rebound lariat. Jordan with a chokebomb for two! Boujii with a springboard stunner! Vendetta piledrives Price off the top?!? Kick out! Price with a dive out to Vendetta’s crew. Boujii and Jordan battle into the entry way. Blockbustah to Vendetta and a Suprize kick ends the defense successfully for the northeast beast. 

Winner: Alec Price

 Alec Price has words for Krule. “I’m going to murder you.”

Match 6: Fresh Air (Macrae Martin & Junior Benito) vs Violence is Forever (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini)

I am here for THIS. Dom is ready to wrap Junior up but Benito is having too much fun trying to clap dem cheeks. This…really annoys the bone collector. Ku in but Benito is used a a weapon to splash out the former IWTV tag champ. Martin sent flying into the chairs and Benito getting beaten down. Double stomp to the spine from Ku. Benito with a desperate lariat to Ku. Martin finally in! Big boots, high knees, a big fallaway slam! Stalling swinging side slam. Martin with a spinning head kick to Dom. Junior with a German! Ku fired up but caught alone in a backpack side Russian combo for two! Ku escapes a doomsday…Martin sent flying. Gut buster, lariat, double stomp air raid crash sequence to Benito but he kicks out! Double cross body to ViF! Benito with a splash. Ku with a double stomp! Martin wants to chop with Ku. Wowza. Ku dodges a spin kick and sleeper slams Martin to the ropes. ViF pops Benito into a head kick. Chasing the Dragon gives ViF the finish they need for the three!

Winners: Violence is Forever

Main Event: Marcus Mathers(c) vs Ricky Shane Page (for the ETU Key to the East Championship)

Marcus is the champ but RSP is just battering him in the early moments. Mathers tossed hard across the ring. Clubbing blows. Marcus with a stunner out of nowhere.RSP with a superplex. Mathers tries to pick the leg but RSP just gutwrench bombs him. Top rope splash for two. Mathers is a warrior but RSP is keeping the heat on. Mathers with a moonsault to the floor!  RSP gets bombed off the buckles!!! Big man cross body! He goes back to the top but Mathers intercepts. Superplex!!! This is awesome. 450 splash puts RSP down for the three!

Winner: Marcus Mathers

This show was a blast and a hell of a start to the day. Shoutout to Bobby Banks. Apparently this was his third run as an announcer…and he did good!
