NEW CHAMPION CROWNED: WOW - WOMEN OF WRESTLING TV REPORT

Season 2, Episode 13: The Championship Challenge

Genesis w/Exodus and Ice Cold vs Jessie Jones w/Americana - If Jones beats Genesis, she is the title match later tonight

They lock up and Genesis pulls Jessie down by her hair. Jessie then does the same thing to Genesis. Jessie then gets an arm drag and locks on an arm bar. Genesis rolls Jessie on her back for a two count. They run the ropes and Jessie gets an elbow and then another arm bar. Genesis gets a pair of blows, a leg drop and then a triangle choke. Jessie gets to the ropes for a break and as Genesis distracts the ref, her partners do nothing.

Jessie wraps Genesis’s arm around the rope, the ref calls for the break and Americana tells Jessie not to cheat. Genesis gets a back kick as Jessie is distracted. Genesis gets a two count and Jessie gets a foot in the ropes. Genesis works over Jessie in the corner. Jessie kicks Genesis back and then starts to work over Genesis’s arm.

Jessie gets a shoulder tackle and an elbow drop. Jessie gets an arm bar and Genesis breaks it by getting a foot on the rope. Genesis tries for a small package, and Jessie blocks it. Jessie reverses for a small package and the ref sees she has the tights and calls for a break after Americana points it out to the ref.

I have been watching wrestling as an adult since 1990, and I don’t think I have ever seen the ref see someone grab the tights and call for a break.  

Genesis grabs a surprise roll up with a handful of tights for the pin and the win.

Winner: Genesis

Jessie and Americana argue on their way to the back.

The ring announcer gives the rules for the Championship Challenge, which has two people start, someone joins the match every two minutes, and then whoever pins someone first is the champion.

The Classmaster w/Samantha Smart vs Jennifer Flores

They lock up and the Classmaster shoves Flores across the ring. Flores dodges a big boot and then leaps on Classmaster’s back for a sleeper. Classmaster backs into the turnbuckle to break the hold. Flores gets a drop-kick and covers, but Classmaster is in the ropes. Flores charges into Classmaster, who catches her in a bear hug and then hits a back breaker.  Classmaster gets shoulder thrusts in the corner and then hammers Flores in the back. Classmaster runs Flores into the corner and hits her with Dead Eyes on the top turnbuckle. Classmaster gets a snap suplex for two.

Flores goes for a crossbody and Classmaster grabs her and hits another backbreaker. Classmaster gets a snap mare and kicks Flores in the back before locking on a rear chinlock. Flores gets a jawbreaker and then a series of kicks. Flores charges into the corner where Classmaster is and goes up and over. Flores goes to the top and gets a crossbody for two. 

 

Classmaster gets a pair of knees to the midsection, and Flores gets a schoolboy roll up for the pin and the win.

Winner: Jennifer Flores

Samantha Smart attacks after the bell, and Stephy Slays comes in to rescue, but Smart and Classmaster are able to beat them both and toss them from the ring.  Smart says that they showed their superiority.

Adriana Gambino vs Rebel Haze

They lock up and Gambino grabs a side headlock, is shot into the ropes and knocks down Haze with a shoulder tackle. Haze gets an arm drag ion response. They trade waistlocks and this time Haze gets the shoulder tackle. Haze gets a hip toss on Gambino. Gambino gets a chop block and goes to work on Haze’s leg and covers for two.

Gambino goes back to work on the leg. Haze gets a rear naked choke and Gambino is able to break free. Haze gets a surprise roll up for two after kicking Gambino off. Gambino wraps Haze’s leg in the ropes and pulls until the ref breaks it. She then grabs a front ankle lock on Haze, who kicks herself free. Haze flights her way out of the corner and then dodges a splash. 

Haze is able to get a pair of clotheslines and follows with what the announcers call a cross body, but looks more like a missed axe handle from Haze for a two count. Haze drops an elbow for two. Gambino gets a kick and a splash. Haze blocks the suplex and hits a forearm. Gambino gets a back elbow and then the chef’s kiss suplex for the pin and the win.

Winner: Adrianna Gambino

Samantha Smart is talking to GI Jane and Classmaster about who should be the 5th person in the championship match. Goldie Collins shows and says it should be her. They all start shouting at each other as we go to commercials.

Princess Aussie (WOW Champion) vs Penelope Pink vs Tormenta vs The Beast vs A Wild Card - The Championship Challenge

We start off with Princess Aussie and Penelope Pink. They start by throwing hands. Aussie takes Pink down. They fight, roll out of the ring and brawl on the floor. They return to the ring and Aussie takes down Pick with a leg lariat and then Aussie clothesline Pink to the floor. Aussie stays in the ring as we go to commercials.

When we return, Pink gets into the ring but Aussie stomps her down as Tormenta enters the match. Aussie gets a hurricanrana on Tormenta. Pink gets into the ring and gets a clothesline on Aussie. Tormenta and Pink stomp Aussie out of the ring. They throw hands and Tormenta pulls Pink down by her hair. Pink gets up and they throw hands again, but Tormenta gets the better of the exchange. 

They fight in the corner and The Beast enters the match. Beast clotheslines them both and then whips Tormenta into Pink in the corner. The Beast then gets a suplex on both Tormenta and Pink. Aussie gets in the ring as they face off, Tormenta and Pink attack them both. Tormenta then hits a Styles Clash on Pink after Aussie and Beast are down. Tormenta goes to the top and Pink meets her there. Beast then slams them both down. Aussie gets a frog splash on Tormenta.

The final competitor enters and it is Abilene Maverick. Maverick goes for a pin on Tormenta but only gets a two count. Beast goes after her and she bails from the ring. Maverick is able to grab Beast’s leg and slams it into the ring post and this only makes Beast mad. Maverick gets to her knees and begs for mercy. Aussie goes for a dive and Pink grabs her foot. 

Beast and Tormenta take each other out on the floor.  In the ring, Aussie is hit with a flipping neck breaker by Pink. Maverick tosses Pink and steals the pin and the win.

Winner and NEW WOW Champion: Abilene Maverick

David McLane gets into the ring to interview Maverick. She throws a fit because the crowd is booing her. She says she’s been gone for a while but she’s back now. She had to grace everyone with her presence because the last few champions have not been worthy.
