PWInsider.com has learned that backstage material was filmed on Thursday teasing MLW Champion Alex Kane and Satoshi Kojima from New Japan Pro Wrestling in advance of a potential future MLW PPV main event. Whether they go that direction or not, there are plans for more Kojima appearances.
The next MLW PPV on FITE+ will feature Kane defending against Richard Holliday. MLW filmed a weigh-in segment in NYC that will air on a future episode of MLW Fusion TV.
There was talk coming out of NYC that the promotion was looking to give bonuses to the talents who had the best match on future tapings. That was something that WCW actually did for a short time in 1991 when Kip Frye was overseeing the promotion for Turner Broadcasting.
As we noted yesterday, Court Bauer told the locker room there will be more MLW live shows in total next year as they would be running more cities. We have heard for weeks there was talk of a Florida return, but we haven't confirmed markets.
Those working as Producers for the show were Ricky Shane Page, Jesus Rodriguez, Thomas Santell, Rocky Romero as well as Court Bauer. Mister Saint Laurent produced the Alex Kane vs. Matt Cardona PPV main event as well as Alexander Hammerstone's farewell bout.
MLW returns on 1/6/24 to the 2300 Arena for Kings of Colloseum with Holliday vs. Kane headlining. The promotion currently has two dates left with the 2300 Arena, but that could always change.
MLW was selling WTF t-shirts for the first time in NYC. They were also selling signed photos of MLW Champion Alex Kane and other talents.
