BLOCK A WINNERS REVEALED: 12/6 NJPW WORLD TAG LEAGUE RESULTS FROM SAGA, JAPAN

12/6/23 Results from New Japan's World Tag League 2023, A Block winners are revealed!

1 - Ryusuke Taguchi, Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata vs. Taiji Ishimori, Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale

Bonza pins Taguchi after a Napalm Thunder Driver.

2 - Shingo Takagi, BUSHI, Zandokan Jr. and Yota Tsuji vs. Tomoaki Honma, Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr.

Takagi pins Tiger Mask after a Pumping Bomber.

3 - Jado, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo vs. Master Wato, Alex Zayne and Lance Archer

Wato forces Jado to tap out to Vendaval.

4 - Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kazuchika Okada, YOSHI-HASHI and HIrooki Goto vs. DOUKI, SANADA, Yuya Uemura and Taichi

Tanahashi pins DOUKI after a High Fly Flow.

Hiroshi Tanahashi does not have an opponent for Wrestle Kingdom yet.   Kazuchika Okada will face Bryan Danielson, so the NEVER Openweight 6-man Tag Titles will not be defended.   This leaves both Tanahashi and Tomohiro Ishii out of the big event at this point.

I am sure there will be more to come in the next few weeks.

World Tag League Matches:

5 - Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun

Gates of Agony hit Fall from Heaven on Oiwa.

Kaun pins Oiwa.

Gates of Agony finish their A Block with 4 points.

Oiwa and Kiyomiya finish with 4 points.

6 - Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Umino and Narita attack House of Torture as they come down the ramp.  Narita was hurt and lay on the concrete.   Yujiro and EVIL double teamed Umino in the ring, while officials helped Narita.   Narita gets back to the corner and Umino goes for the tag.   Narita walks away, leaving Umino in the ring to get beaten up even more.   Narita pulls out a chair and sits at ringside, watching House of Torture beat down Umino.  The crowd hates this.  Umino tried to fight back on his own.   He fights off all of House of Torture and is about to hit Death Rider on EVIL.  Narita grabs Umino in a rear naked choke.  As Umino is fading out, Narita throws him into EVIL who hits Everything is Evil.

EVIL pins Umino.

House of Torture finishes at 6 points.

Narita and Umino end up with 6 points.

EVIL hands Narita a chair who smashes it over Umino's head.  Narita tears off his Strong Style T-Shirt.   EVIL gives a House of Torture shirt to Narita who puts it on.   El Desperado on commentary stares down his former partner.   Narita with his new faction exit the ring.

Interesting angle.   Umino and Narita were coming up together as rivals then as teammates.  Umino was being pushed like the next Tanahashi as a super babyface.   Putting Narita with House of Torture will guarantee that he is a full blown heel now.  The separation between the two are now clear going into 2024.  I hope Narita will be badass heel character, and not a chicken heel who relies on weapons and cheating like the rest of House of Torture.   

7 - Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii vs. HENARE and Great O-Khan

HENARE pins Ishii with Streets of Rage. 

United Empire finish with 8 points.  

Yano and Ishii finish with 8 points.

8 - Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls vs. Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin

Good match.   War Dogs hit a Spike Piledriver on Nicholls.

Kidd pins Nicholls.

War Dogs finish with 10 points.

TMDK finish with 10 points.

War Dogs takes the 1st Place in A Block.    TMDK take 2nd Place in A Block.
