12/4 NJPW WORLD TAG LEAGUE REPORT FROM KOCHI, JAPAN

12/4/23 Results from New Japan's World Tag League from Kochi, Japan:

1 - BUSHI and Shingo Takagi vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and SHO

Kanemaru hits a low blow on BUSHI and rolls him up for a pin.

2 - Oskar Leube, Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Boltin Oleg, Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun

Gates of Agony hit a double Razor's Edge on Oskar.  (I have heard the name of this finishing move as "Open the Gate", "Fall from Heaven" or "Heaven's Gate" over the course of the tour.)

Liona pins Oskar.

3 - Tomoaki Honma, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Callum Newman, HENARE and Great O-Khan

HENARE forces Honma to tap out to Ultima.

4 - Ryusuke Taguchi, Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

EVIL forces Taguchi to tap out to the Darkness Scorpion.

At this point, there was an intermission where they reviewed the current standings of the World Tag League.   They have not done intermissions for a few years.

5 - Kosei Fujita, Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls vs. Taiji Ishimori, Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin

Ishimori forces Fujita to tap out to the Bone Lock.

World Tag League Matches:

6 - Yuya Uemura and Taichi vs. Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale

Fale pins Uemura after a Bad Luck Fall.

Rogue Army earn 2 points, with 4 points total. 

Just 5 Guys remain at 8 points, which will allow Monster Sauce to take the lead later in the main event.

7 - El Phantasmo and Hikuleo vs. Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr.

ELP pins Soberano after a Super Thunderkiss 86.

Guerillas of Destiny earn 2 points and are now have 8 points and in a three way tie for first place in B Block.

Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr. remain at 5 points.

8 - YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata

Goto pins Nagata with a Goto-Ishiki.

Bishomon earns 2 points and get to 7 points total.

Suzuki and Nagata have 2 points.

9 - Zandokan Jr. and Yota Tsuji vs. Alex Zayne and Lance Archer

Before the match, Tetsuya Naito comes to the ring and joins the Japanese commentary team.   

Tsuji pins Zayne after a Gene Blaster spear.

Zandokan Jr. and Tsuji earn 2 point and 6 points total.

Monster Sauce remain tied for the lead with 8 points.

Tsuji and Zandokan addressed and thanked the crowd.

Two more nights of the tournament are scheduled for 12/6 and 12/7.   The Semi Finals will be held on 12/8, with the 1st Place in A Block challenging the 2nd Place of B Block, and the 1st Place of B Block challenging the 2nd Place of A Block.

The last two teams will be in the Finals on Sunday, 12/10
