It is Saturday and AEW Collision was recorded Friday night at the Peterson Event Center in PIttsburgh, PA. Our commentary team is Tony Schiavone, Kevin Kelly, and Nigel McGuinness.
We get the opening promos for everyone in the Continental Classic tournament.
Claudio Castagnoli vs Brody King Continental Classic match
We’re gonna start with a hoss fight.
They run at each other and then trade kicks and blows in the middle of the ring. They each try a lariat and it just makes the other one mad. They throw clotheslines and neither goes down, and when they come off the ropes, they knock each other down and roll to the floor. They then charge at each other on the floor and hit clotheslines, they go into the ring and throw forearms. Brody gets a big boot to take down Claudio. Claudio hits a big boot and has to follow up with a scoop slam.
Claudio clotheslines Brody to the floor. Claudio goes to the floor and gets a running uppercut and they brawl on the floor. Claudio is whipped over the barricade into the crowd as we go picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, they have returned to the ring and Brody is holding Claudio down, Claudio works to his feet and they go back to throwing hands. Brody gets a scoop slam and follows with a senton. Brody goes to the corner and Claudio hits a leaping uppercut and works over Brody 9in the corner. Claudio tries to whip Brody across the ring, and Brody reverses and charges into Claudio.
Claudio escapes a fireman’s carry and picks Brody’s legs to try for a giant swing, but Brody kicks his way free. Claudio hits a leaping stomp on Brody for two. Claudio tries to pick up Brody, who stops in and when Brody comes off the ropes, Claudio hits a pop up uppercut for two. Claudio is able to get the giant swing into a sharpshooter and Brody crawls to the ropes, but Claudio grabs his arm. Brody is able to get to the ropes and Claudio has to release the hold.
Claudio charges ant Brody, and Brody dodges, causing Claudio to go into the ring post. Brody gets a German suplex and a cannonball in the corner for one. Claudio gets a destroyer for one. Brody gets a back body drop and Claudio lands on his feet. Claudio charges at Brody and Brody grabs him for a pile driver for two. Brody then gets a lariat for the pin and the win.
Winner and getting three points; Brody King
We then get a video from Jon Moxley that he thinks being in the tournament may be a bad idea since everything hurts. He’s sick and tired of being pissed off, being depressed, and he’s going to fight his way out of it.
Abadon vs Kiera Hogan
They circle each other to start and Jogan looks scared as Abadon traps her in a corner. Hogan gets around her and gets a shotgun drop kick, but Abadon beats her down in the corner in retaliation. Hogan goes for kicks and then hits a hip attack in the ropes. Hogan gets a sliding kick on Abadon in the corner for two. Abadon gets a side slam on Hogan when Hogan comes off the ropes,and then charges into Hogan in the corner. Abadon gets a cutter through the ropes from the apron for two.
Abadon traps Hogan in the ropes, licks her face and then slams her onto the mat. Abadon goes for a kick, but Hogan dodges and gets a surprise roll up for two. Hogan gets a kick and a neckbreaker for two. Abadon lays in kicks and then gets a leg-based DDT (called the Black Dahlia) for the pin and the win.
Winner: Abadon
The lights go out and in the ring, Julia Hart is in the ring with Abadon. The lights go out again and Abadon is alone.
Tony Schiavone says they have backup matches if the matches scheduled don’t go to the time limit.
Alex Marvex is with Samoa Joe and he is upset with MJF for accepting the tag team match with the Devil’s Goons, but before he can talk, Roderick Storm and The Kingdom show up to say that while he hates Joe for trying to break his neck, Joe is Adam Cole’s best friend, so Joe is his best friend by proxy and he pushes the MJf is the devil. Joe cracks up and walks away.
Daniel Garcia vs Andrade El Idolo
Matt Menard joins commentary.
They lock up collar and elbow and Garcia gets a surprise roll up for two. Andrade grabs a side headlock and Garcia shoves him off into the ropes and Abndnrade gets a shoulder tackle. Andrade sets too soon when Garcia comes off the ropes, and Garcia whips Abndrade into the ropes, where he hangs for Tranquilo pose. Garcia grabs Andrade, who knocks him into the corner. Andrade comes off the top with a crossbody and Garcia rolls to the floor. Andrade leaps onto him, and then rolls him into the ring where Andrade gets a two count.
Garcia gets a dragon screw twice on Andrade and covers for one. Andrade rolls to the floor and Garcia chases him and runs into a big knee. They brawl on the floor, They roll into the ring where Garcia covers for two. Andrade knocks Garcia to the floor as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Garcia gets a side suplex on Andrade. Garcia beats down Andrade in the corner and then ties Andrade into the tree of woe, and climbs to the top to beat down Andrade. Garcia hits the running drop kick followed by a sheer drop brainbuster for two. Garcia gets a waistlock and Andrade tries to fight out of it but can’t. Garcia whips him into the ropes and Andrade comes off with a flying forearm. Andrtade kips up and Garcia is in the corner. Andrade charges, and Garcia misses the clothesline. Adnrade gets two suplexes and Garcia is able to reverse the third into a sleeper. Andrade gets to the ropes with Garcia on his back. Andrade climbs to the top with Garcia on his back, and Andrade turns it into the superplex from the top.
Andrade then hits the three amigos for two. Andrae tries to grab the leg and Garcia reverses it into a sharp shooter, Andrade works out of it and gets a flatliner for the pin and the win.
Winner: Andrade El Idolo
We get a promo from Willie Mack, saying he is friends with AR Fox, so he’s gonna have to take him out on Dynamite.
The Kingdom and Roderick Strong come out with Roddy still in his wheelchair. Roddy says to his new best friend by proxy, Samoa Joe that MJF is the devil. Roddy then says he dedicates his match to ADAM! Cole.
The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) vs Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson)
Boulder gets a cross body on both Taven and Bennett, and they go to the floor. They brawl on the floor and Bronson tosses Tavern into the ring. After being whipped into the corner, Taven gets a surprise roll up for two. Bronson gets a power bomb for two.; Boulder is tagged in and he tries for a moonsault from the second rope, but Taven rolls out of the way. Bennett tags in as does Broson, who runs into a superkick, takes a death valley driver and a kick from Taven. They hit the assisted pile driver for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Kingdom
After the match, Roddy gets out of his wheelchair, hits a clothesline on the Iron Savages manager and then gets back in his wheelchair, which loses the sign.
Lexi is with Ethan Page, who says he is in the best shape of his life and has been racking up wins on Ring of Honor. He challenges Kenny Omega to a match next week on Collision in Canada.
We then get a video package for the match between Willow Nightingale and Mercedes Martinez.
Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black vs Christopher Daniels and Matt Sydal
Buddy and Sydal start off and they grab a greco roman knuckle lock and move to pin attempts and mat wrestling. Buddy tosses Sydal to the corner, and Sydal goes to the top for a cross body, but Buddy rolls through. Sydal escapes at the back and lays in kicks, but Buddy drops him with a back elbow. Buddy tries for a stalling suplex, but Sydal fights out of it and tags in Daniels. They double team Buddy and Daniels grabs a two count. Buddy is able to tag in Black and Daniels gets a leaping kick and then takes a knee from Black in the corner. Buddy is tagged in and Daiels is whipped into a boot from Black. Daniels is tossed to the floor where Black hits him with a moonsault from the second rope as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, both Daniels and Buddy are down and they both get up for a tag. Sydal ryan wild until he gets a two count on Black after a guillotine leg drop. Sydal goes to the top and Black cuts him off with an elbow. Daniels tags in and Black backflips out of a power bomb from him.
Buddy hits a meteora on Daniels while Sydal hits one on Black. Buddy and Sydal trade kicks and go to the outside as Daniels dives onto Black on the outside. Daniels rolls Black into the ring and sets for an angel’s wings as Sydal goes to the top. Buddy knocks Sydal to the floor and Daneils gets a surprise roll up for two. Buddy gets a curb stomp and Sydal leaps into a kick for Black. Black then hits a spin kick on Daniels for the pin and the win.
Winners: Buddy Matthews and Malakai Black
The lights go out when they come on, FTR is on their way to the ring. Black says that before they do anything, he says he assumes they are here to join the House of Black. Black says the only people who have been here for the both of them are the House of Black, and Black says he has never told a lie. He sets the mic down in front of Dax.
When dax goes to grab the mic, Buddy attacks. The House fo Black beats them down and then they make Dax watch Cash take a spin kick.
Black grabs a mic and says not one person is coming to help FTR. Dax then has to take a spin kick.
We then get Renee Paquette with Timeless Toni Storm, and Toni says she wants the man who does her interviews. She then complains that Skye Blue interrupted her acceptance speech. Best line: Skye Blue, you should walk everywhere backwards because all anyone takes pictures of is your bottom.
We then get a video recap of the Christian Cage vs Adam Copeland.
El Hijo del Vikingo vs Kip Sabían
We are told this is one of the stand by matches
They trade arm bars, and then go for hip tosses while holding onto the arm bar. Vikingo escapes by leaping over the ropes and bringing Kips arm down on the top rope. Kip goes to the floor and Vikingo goes into the ropes and bounces back to the middle of the ring. Vikingo gets a spin kick and they move to fighting in the corner where Vikingo gets an arm drag followed by a tijeras. Kip goes to the floor and then Kip kicks him when Vikingo tries for a dive. Kip hits an Arabian dive from the apron and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Kip is beating down Vikingo and Vikingo gets a tornado kick followed by a spin into a torture rack drop into a knee lift. Vikingo drags him to the side of the ring and hits a phoenix splash from the second rope for two. They fight to the top in the corner and Kip gets a hurricanrana and hits a power slam on Vikingo for two.
Did you know AEW is going to Wembley Stadium? If not, they mentioned it about 50 times during the show. So much for World’s End, I guess.
Kip is tossed to the floor and Vikingo hits a tornado dive after walking the top rope. He shoves Kip into the ring and hits a 630 splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Vikingo
Lexi is with Keith Lee and she asks about “Him”. Shane Taylor interrupts and says he wants to give people a fight between them at Final Battle. Lee accepts the challenge.
Miro is about to go into Andrade’s locker room and CJ stops him. He promises he won’t lay a hand on her client, and she has his word.
Brian Danielson vs Eddie Kingston A Continental Classic match
Danielson is still wearing an eye patch. They take their time to lock up as they jockey for position. Danielson is throwing kicks and Eddie hits a series of blows in the corner. Danielson gets a chop in the corner before they go back to the middle of the ring. They go to the corner again and this time Eddie gets a brutal chop coming out of the corner.
They quickly lock up and go to mat wrestling and then right into the ropes for a break. Danielson breaks with a kick and they throw hands and feet. Danielson gets a kick to the arm and as the ref is checking him, he grabs Eddie and they move to mat work again. They then move to chops in the middle of the ring. Daneilson gets a quick cover for two, and then grabs a rear butterfly arm stretch. Eddie is able to reverse it and then Danielson reverses it. Daneilson gets a belly to back suplex and Eddie rolls to the apron.
Danielson tries to kick Eddie to the floor and finally is able to do so with a bottom kick. Daneilson dives into Eddie’s grasp and Eddie hits a belly to back suplex as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, they are fighting on the top turnbuckle. Danielson gets a series of elbows and a head butt that knocks Eddie to the mat, followed by a shotgun drop kick. Both men struggle to get to their feet. They get to their feet and lay in chops. Danielson moves to kicks and Eddie grabs a t bone suplex, but Danielson reverses it into an attempt at the Lebell lock. He finally gets it partially locked on. He rolls through and finally locks it on and Eddie is able to reverse the hold and starts pounding away at Danielson’s head.
Danielson gets a hip toss, misses a psycho knee and Eddie gets a belly to back suplex and a back fist for two. Eddie gets a suplex for two. They struggle to their feet and Eddie is up first. He goes for a pile driver and Danielson drops to the mat. Danielson gets a backdrop and a roundhouse kick. Danielson gets the Yes kicks and Eddie gets to his feet and lays in chops. Daneilson kicks Eddie down and Eddie rises again and hits an insigiri, a half an half suplex and a backfist. Danielson gets a side suplex and both men are down again.
Danielson is up first and lays in Yes kicks again.
We are told five minutes remain. Danielson gets a back suplex and holds on for two. Danielson stomps Eddie’s head. Danielson drops to the mat and the ref checks on Eddie. They both crawl to each other and Eddie flips off Danielson. Danielson is up first and hits the psycho knee for the pin and the win.
