11/26 NJPW WORLD TAG LEAGUE REPORT FROM FUKUSHIMA, JAPAN

11/26/23 Results from New Japan's World Tag League 2023 from Fukushima, Japan:

Yuto Nakashima, Tomoaki Honma, Toa Linoa and Bishop Kaun vs. Gedo, Taiji Ishimori, Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin

War Dogs and Gates of Agony had a wild brawl and were barely in the ring.

Ishimori takes down Nakashima with La Mistica and applies the Bone Lock.   Nakashima taps out.

After their match, Kidd and Liona started throwing guardrails at each other.   Very dangerous for the fans.

Callum Newman, HENARE and Great O-Khan vs. Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

HENARE forces Togo to tap out to Ultima.

YOH, Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Kosei Fujita, Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls

YOH pins Fujita after a Direct Driver.

Oskar Leube, Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Boltin Oleg, Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya

Kiyomiya pins Oskar after a Shining Wizard

World Tag League Matches:

Soberano Jr. and Atlantic Jr. vs. Alex Zayne vs. Lance Archer

Zayne pins Soberano Jr. after a Taco Driver.

Monster Sauce earns 2 points, with 6 points total.

Atlantis Jr. and Soberano Jr. have 4 points.

YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale

Nice competitive match.  At one point, Bonza hit a gut wrench sit down power bomb on Goto.  Goto came down on the back of his neck and looked dazed.   The referee checked on Goto and almost stopped the match.  The others fought on.  Goto got up to continue the match.

Bishomon hits a Shoto on Bonza and Goto pins Bonza.

Bishomon earn their first 2 points.

Rogue Army remain at 0 points.  

After the match, Goto was still clutching his neck and YOSHI-HASHI immediately put an ice pack on his partner’s neck.

Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata vs. Yuya Uemura and Taichi

Suzuki stared down Taichi as he entered the ring.   Both are former Suzuki-Gun members.  Taichi was in the corner in mediation.   Taichi took off his Holy Emperor garb and stared eye to eye with Suzuki.  

Stiff match.  All men beat the crap out of each other.  

Uemura hit a body press off the top rope on Nagata, then hit the Deadbolt Suplex.

Uemura pins Nagata.

Just 5 Guys earn 2 points and get to 6 points total.

Suzuki and Nagata have 0 points.

Big win for Uemura, especially to get an unassisted pin on Yuji Nagata.

After the match, Suzuki and Taichi shake hands out of respect.

El Phantasmo and Hikuleo vs. Zandokan Jr. and Yota Tsuji

ELP and Zandokan were having some fun poking at each other at the start.   ELP was wrestling like a heel, which is his natural style.   Fun match.  Three of the wrestlers can fly like Luchas, but are tall enough to match up with the huge Hikuleo.

Zandokan and Tsuji were about to hit Vamos Amigo on Hikuleo.  Hikuleo got up and tried to chokeslam Tsuji.   Zandokan stuns Hikuleo with a super kick and they hit an Anchor on Hikuleo.   Tsuji goes for the pin, but ELP breaks it up by jumping on the back of Tsuji and hitting a Destroyer on Zandokan.   Hikuleo hits a power slam on Tsuji.    Hikuleo goes for another chokeslam on Tsuji, who reverses out.  ELP hits a tope suicida on Zandokan, but Zandokan catches him and hits a TKO on the floor.   

Hikuleo tries for another snap powerslam but Tsuji hits a knee strike and a curb stomp.  Tsuji hits a Gene Blast on Hikuleo.

Tsuji pins Hikuleo.

Tsuji and Zandokan Jr. earn 2 points, with 4 points total.

Guerrillas of Destiny have 2 points.  

Both Bishomon and Guerrillas of Destiny have 2 points each and two pinfall losses each. Their time as Tag Team Champions may be coming to an end.

Zandokan Jr. has been wrestling for 13 years in Mexico but is relatively an unknown.  The combination of his height and athleticism makes him so impressive in a New Japan ring.
