11/23 NJPW WORLD TAG LEAGUE REPORT FROM YOKOHAMA, JAPAN

11/23/23 Results from New Japan's World Tag League 2023 from Yokohama Japan:

Tiger Mask, Soberano Jr. and Atlantis Jr. vs. Taiji Ishimori, Jack Bonza and Bad Luck Fale

Ishimori bounces Tiger Mask’s face off and open turnbuckle and rolls him up for a pin.

Master Wato, Tomoaki Honma, Minoru Suzuki and Yuji Nagata vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, Zandokan Jr. and Yota Tsuji

Tsuji pins Honma after a Vamos Amigo (a splash off the shoulders of Zandokan Jr.)

Boltin Oleg, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto vs. Oskar Leube, Alex Zayne and Lance Archer

Goto pins Oskar after hitting a Shoto.

DOUKI, Yuya Uemura and Taichi vs. Jado, El Phantasmo and Hikuleo

Taichi forces Jado to tap out to a Saitei Jujiro (Stretch Plumb).

World Tag League Matches:

Toru Yano and Tomohiro Ishii vs. Toa Liona and Bishop Kaun

Yano hits a low blow on both Kaun and Liona, and school boys Liona for the pin.

Yano and Ishii earn 2 points.

Gates of Agony has 0 points.

HENARE and Great O-Khan vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Kaito Kiyomiya

O-Khan seemed to be distracted and unfocused.   He had HENARE start the match.   

Good grappling between O-Khan and Kiyomiya and Oiwa.

O-Khan hits a Pop Up Eliminator on Oiwa and gets the pin.

United Empire earns 2 points.

Kiuomiya and Oiwa have 2 points.

Ren Narita and Shota Umino vs. Gabe Kidd and Alex Coughlin

Kidd and Coughlin sneak attack Umino on his entrance.   Narita runs to join the fight.   They fight into the crowd.   Good match between these two young teams.

Umino puts an STF on Kidd.  Coughlin goes nuts and throws chairs into the ring.   War Dogs hit a double choke slams on Umino.  Narita makes the save.  War Dogs hit a double muscle buster on Umino.  Two count.   Umino reverses out of a Piledriver by Kidd and gets a two count.   Coughlin distracts the referee.  Kidd hits Umino in the face with a chair and follows with a Piledriver.  

Kidd pins Umino.

War Dogs earn 2 points.

Umino and Narita have 2 points.

Good match.   War Dogs are slowly becoming good heels. 

Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL

Lots of brawling outside and in the ring.  Good match.   TMDK go for a Tank Buster on EVIL.   SHO rings the bell which distracts everyone.  Yujiro hits a low blow on Nicholls and pushes him into the referee who bumps to the floor.   Kanemaru and SHO hold Nicholls for a Suntori Surprise.   Nicholls ducks and Kanemaru sprays SHO.  Fujita takes out Kanemaru Togo and SHO.   TMDK hits a Tank Buster on EVIL.   Nicholls pokes Yujiro in the eye and Haste hits a low blow.   TMDK hits a Super Tank Buster on Yujiro.

Nicholls pins Yujiro.

TMDK earns 2 points and 4 points total.

House of Torture has 2 points.

It looks like TMDK is getting the push in this tournament.   Lance Archer on commentary put over Haste and Nicholls during their time in Pro Wrestling NOAH.   Chris Charlton also called TMDK the best tag team to never hold the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship. 

Haste took the mic and thanked Yokohama.  He says they will win World Tag League and the IWGP Tag Team titles.
