What's the point of yet another AEW title and what's the point of Eddie Kingston putting his titles up in said tournament?
The point is, sadly, that Tony Khan is so incompetent where writing cohesive storylines and creating characters with depth that people would care about that he has to result to tropes like a tournament which he says will produce “great matches”. He doesn’t realize that while his core fan base likes those bouts, the fans who aren’t watching want more. They want to invest in the wrestlers and care about WHY they are having matches. Tony has no clue how to do that, none.
I used to watch WWE, AEW, & Impact. And then I could not watch AEW anymore, because of the blood and lack of storylines. And then I could not watch Impact anymore, because they have men fighting women, and that just does not sit well with me. Plus, most of their main-eventers were WWE mid and low carders. And they tend to copy WWE characters. So I am all WWE now, and what a great time for that to happen! Your thoughts?
I was saying on last Wednesday’s show that I am so happy that Vince McMahon’s indiscretions led to Paul Levesque showing what he could do as the head of creative. It made the company appealing to Endeavor, and also made it easy to send Vince McMahon out to pasture, where in my opinion he should have been sent years ago. The WWE product is outstanding so yes, it’s a great time to be a fan.
What are your thoughts on Brie Garcia stating on a podcast that Bryan was wrestling with a broken orbital bone until his nose went numb? I guess WWE was protecting Bryan from himself all this time until Tony let him be the free spirit that he wanted to be (quite literally).
I love Bryan the wrestler. From everything I know about him, I love the person he is as well. But when it comes to making decisions to protect himself, and by extension his family, when it comes to his body, I have no respect for his decision making at all. In fact, I think he is an imbecile. There is no reason to wrestle until your nose goes numb at his age, none.
I try every week to get into NXT and while there are some segments I really enjoyed, overall personally I just can’t. I think a big piece of it is Booker T’s commentary. I’ve loved Booker for years but as a commentator is it me or is he one of the worst and most annoying? Your thoughts?
I can see how you, and others, feel that way. I have always looked at it as Book being Book, so I don’t let what he says affect the show.
When would you say WWF successfully filled the void left behind on commentary after Jesse Ventura's departure?
I never really thought about it but yes they did, many years ago.
